Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #184

Hello, everyone! Happy Halloween to you! What a way to get the week started. The kiddos will be excited all day long!

We have a new sketch challenge posted over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge today, and I thought it was only fitting to share one more Halloween card with you! Here is the fun sketch:

When I saw the strips behind the sentiment panel I thought it would be the perfect time to get some washi tape used up. So, I dug into my Halloween washi tape stash, and picked out these four patterns. I always forget about my washi tape - and I have a ton of it, so it was fun to get some of it used up.

I had an uh-oh moment and somehow got a black smudge at the top of the card, so that dictated where my bling pieces were going to go. Am I really happy with them...well, I probably would have placed them a little differently, but I think they still look okay!

Head on over to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog to see the sketch. The full design team reveal will be on Wednesday!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Lasting Memories #317 - Squares

Hello and good Sunday morning to you! I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Yesterday we spent the day at our daughter's house carving pumpkins, enjoying a delicious BBQ, and just enjoying family time. I still can't believe that our weather is so warm. 80 degrees for the end of October is unreal! We even had to sleep with the fan in the window (I am not turning the air back on in October!) and the house was still on the warm side!

Anyway, we are just a couple of days away from November, and that means we have a new theme and a new set of challenges for you at Lasting Memories.  For November our theme is going to be - All About Shapes - and our first challenge is:

LM #317 - Squares

Cut those papers into squares, use square photos, we just want to see a lot of squares on your layout!

For my layout I cut my photos into 4x4 squares, used a piece of 6x6 paper underneath, and although they don't really look square, the yellow and orange papers are 3x3. When I made this layout, I wasn't even thinking when I cut the circle embellishment for the middle. I think it would have looked just as good if I'd stayed true to the challenge and used a square! Doh!

I based this layout on the week 4 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

I moved my title to the other side of the layout, but pretty well stayed true to the sketch otherwise.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the layouts from the rest of the design team. We look forward to seeing what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Christmas Embellishments with PDE Linky Party Ch #144

Hello again! This is my second post of the day. To see my Sketch N Scrap - World Card Making Day card, please scroll down or go here.

Today is the 4th Friday of the month, and that means our new challenge at PDE Linky Party is:

Ch #144 - Anything But A Card

Since I've been working on quite a few Christmas cards, I thought I would use up my scraps and make a few embellishments for my Project Life album, December Daily (if I get around to making one), or my scrapbook layouts.

For these embellishments I used what was left of the cut apart sheet, and a few of the scraps from the candy cane card from my earlier blog post. I love how these turned out! I added an enamel hearts to a couple of these, and the others I will probably add one of the phrases from the cut apart sheet when I see what project they will be added to.

Head on over to the PDE Linky Party blog to see what projects the rest of the design team have made. Why don't you play along with us this week? We would love to see your creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a fantastic day!

Sketch N Scrap World Card Making Day Flashback Friday #4

Hello, hello! Happy Friday! Can you believe that it is the last Friday in October? It's crazy to think that in a few short weeks it will be Thanksgiving! It always seems like after Halloween time just really flies by until the holidays are over.

Anyway - we are still in October, and we are still celebrating World Card Making Day at Sketch N Scrap! Today we bring you our last special card sketch for the month.

I absolutely love this sketch! The diagonal line, the circle embellishment, the three pieces at the top...love it! I know I will be using this sketch again, and it will probably show up in my Project Life style album before long!

For my card I used Doodlebug Designs - Here Comes Santa Claus 6x6 paper pad. Even the candy cane circle and the sentiment was cut from the cut apart sheet. I love how easy that this card came together.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the cards from the rest of the design team. You have until October 31st to play along with any and all of our sketches!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back soon with another project to share with you, and it will "probably" include more of this Doodlebug collection!

Have a great day!

Paper Play Sketches #19

Hello everyone! Happy Hump Day! Once again we are headed fast in the direction of the weekend! We are still having some really warm weather here, and once it does cool down, it may take some getting used to! I mean, we are talking the forecast high for Halloween is 80 degrees! That is crazy warm for this time of year around here!

We have a new sketch for you today over at Paper Play Sketches. It's another great sketch with lots of possibilities.

For my card I used Illustrated Faith's 6x8 "Christmas" collection. I fell in love with this collection when I saw it in person at my local scrapbook store. I love the colors and I love the images in this collection. I'm kicking myself for not getting the stamp set as well. The focal point of this card is from the 12x12 cut apart sheet. Using these 3x4 cards make for a quick and easy card!

Be sure to check out what the rest of the design team made with this sketch. We hope to see you playing along with us at Paper Play Sketches!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #294

Hello, hello! How are you today? I hope your day is off to a good start!

We have a new sketch for you over at Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday today. We are continuing with out "Getting Ready For The Holidays" extravaganza, so your card needs to be a holiday card, and our optional theme for this week is - paper piercing.

I used Echo Park's - I Love Christmas - 6x6 paper pad for this card. This paper with the cute little Santas and snowmen was perfect for the double panels. You can't get much cuter than that! I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock, and then matted it again with a scalloped circle, and another regular circle. A card that came together rather quickly!

Head on over to the Try Stampin' blog to see the cards from the rest of the design team. I do hope you will join us! Our challenges run for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to get it done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

100 Patterned Paper Challenge Facebook Group

Hi guys! I hope that you are enjoying your weekend! I just wanted to pop in share that my friend, Tina, has started a 100 Patterned Paper Challenge Facebook group!

Back in the summer I came across a post in one of the Facebook groups that I am in, and it was someone challenging themselves to pick 100 papers from their stash and use them up or get rid of them. I had just been going through my old papers and decided I could do the same thing! Tina liked the idea so well, that she has decided to create a Facebook group dedicated to this challenge.  Not only will she be challenging us to use up our patterned papers, but other scrappy supplies that we may be hoarding as well!

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, come join us! Here is a link to the page:

I would love it if you came and joined us!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

PDE Linky Party Ch #143 - All Tags

Hello again! This is my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch n Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Today is the third Friday of the month and that means we are all about tags over at PDE Linky Party!

Ch #143 - All Tags

I am trying to get a head start on my Christmas tags for this year, so that is what I am sharing with you today.

I used one of  my favorite color combos - red, white, and kraft, and my favorite snowflake die, and this tag came together pretty quickly!

How about you - do you make your own tags for Christmas, or just buy them? I always feel guilty buying them with all of the scrappy supplies that I have. Plus, I just feel it puts a little more of a personal touch to the gift!

Head on over to PDE Linky Party to see the tags from the rest of the team. I do hope you play along with us! I would love to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Flashback Friday #3

Happy Friday, scrappy friends! We have a much needed day off from school today and I am going to enjoy every minute of it!

We are still celebrating World Card Making Day over at Sketch N Scrap and we have another new sketch to share with you today! This great sketch is courtesy of Lisa, and our returning guest designer is Hillary Harris.

This was such a fun sketch to work with! I used a Heidi Swapp 6x6 paper pad for this card and stamps from a couple of different KaiserCraft stamp sets. The tree is from the Modern Christmas set, and the sentiment is from the Mistletoe set. I did pop up the little tree square, although you can't much tell that in the photo.

Stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you have some time to play along with this sketch! We will be back again next week for one more Flashback Friday celebrating World Card Making Day.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Eek! - Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #84

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday! I am really excited because today is the last day of school for the week! We have tomorrow off - thanks to teacher's meetings. It seems like we haven't had a day off in a long time and we have all been looking forward to it!

Today is the 20th and that means a great new card sketch is posted over at Sketch N Scrap. This sketch is courtesy of Heather.

With Halloween right around the corner, I went with the Halloween theme. I still have a couple more cards I would like to get made before the holiday - we shall see if I can get them done.

I used Doodlebug Design's "Boos and Brews" 6x6 paper pad. I just cannot get enough of that collection! I kind of wish I would have stuck with black strips instead of the green, but I felt like it was almost too much black. This card kind of reminds of a little yard sign!lol!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you have the time to play along with us! You have until the end of the month to link up your cards and layouts.

Don't forget - we will be back tomorrow for another fun treat for you in our World Card Making Day celebration!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Paper Play Sketches #19

Hello everyone! How are you today? It's the middle of the week and that means I have a great card sketch to share with you today!

The latest sketch has been posted over at Paper Play Sketches and I hope you play along with us!

Another Halloween card using Doodlebug Designs "Boos and Brews" collection. I die cut the little Frankenstein out of the 12x12 cut apart sheet, as well as the sentiment. All the other papers are from the 6x6 paper pad. This card came together really quickly and is one of my favorites that I have made so far for this Halloween!

Be sure to check out the Paper Play Sketches blog to see the cards from the rest of the design team. Why don't you come play along with us?! We have a new sketch challenge every single Wednesday. I would love to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #182

Hello scrappy friends! I hope that your week is off to a good start! We have a short week this week with teacher's meetings and I am looking forward to a day off!

We have a brand new sketch posted over on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog this week. It's a great sketch created by Michelle and digitized by Brandi.

I don't know why the solid red strip looks so much darker in the photo. It really is a perfect match to the background paper. I used The Paper Studio's "A Very Merry Christmas" 6x6 paper pad for this card. Have I mentioned that it if one of my favorite paper pads this year?! I love it!

I'm trying to keep my Christmas cards flat this year because my post office always wants to gripe when they are a little lumpy! I know they are just trying to get my cards to the recipient unharmed, and I guess I just need to tell them to send it "non-machinable" when I go in. That might save me the lecture every time! I really would have liked to have added some red gems or sequins on here!

The full design team reveal will be on the Atlantic Hearts Card Challenge blog tomorrow, so be sure to stop by and see what the team has created. I do hope you play along with us this week! You don't have to make just a card - it can be any type of project - a layout, a project life style card, a canvas, as long as we can see the sketch in it, you can link up!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a fantastic day!

Sketches In Thyme #224 - Peek

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you're looking for my reveal for The Memory Nest, please scroll down or go here.

Today is my day to be featured over at Sketches In Thyme with this week's sketch. We have a great sketch courtesy of Cherie Averill.

I really liked the placement of the big title on this sketch, and it gave me a chance to use these large alphas from American Crafts. I wanted to keep things simple, so the only embellishment is the puffy hearts. Sometimes it's nice to just keep things nice and simple!

Ada would usually fall asleep on the way to pick the boys up from school. but once in a while, when we got to the school, I would look back to see these little eyes peeking back at me! And then she would usually start wiggling, wanting me to get her out! Such a little cutie!

Be sure to check out the Sketches In Thyme blog for awesome inspiration every single day of the week! We have a great prize for one lucky winner this month, so be sure to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Make It Monday #74 - The Girl Has Style

Hello, hello! How is your Monday going? I can't believe the weekend went so fast! It's looking like it's going to be another hot day around here - upper 80's in the middle of October...that's crazy!

Today is Make It Monday over at The Memory Nest, and do we have a fun sketch for you! I was so excited when I first saw this sketch - I knew it would be a fun one to work with!

Abby sent me this photo of Ada back in September. Ada has never been much of a hat girl, but when she saw this Paw Patrol hat she had to have it! Abby said on this Saturday they were getting ready to go to Springfield and Ada picked out her own outfit. Of course the hat was included! Now we're talking it's the middle of September here, when it's still pretty hot outside. Abby said she wore it all morning and until they got to Springfield, then she said her head was itchy, and took it off!

I went with the pinks and grays to match her outfit, and added in a few extra layers under the photo. I really wanted the title to be - The girl's got style - but the alphas just weren't there for it! The journaling is on the tag underneath the photo.

Head on over to The Memory Nest to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the team. I look forward to seeing what you create with this fun sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back a little later with another project to share with you!

The Great Pumpkin Hunt - Lasting Memories #315

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are having a good weekend. The weather is back to feeling more like summer around here than fall, but I don't much mind, I'll take these nice warm days while I can get them!

We have a new challenge posted over at Lasting Memories today, and it should help to get you into the fall feel of things! Our theme for October is "All About Fall", and today's challenge is:

Favorite Fall Activity

One of my all time favorite activities is going to the pumpkin patch! My kids are all too big to really care about going now, so I rely on my daughter getting me photos when they take Ada! These photos are from their trip last year. They actually went to the pumpkin patch yesterday, so I am hoping to get more fun photos to scrap!

I used Bella Blvd's Hello Autumn for this layout. In fact, I just used the one paper with the borders on it, and then my circles were cut out of the cut apart sheet, and a scrap piece of the orange paper. I used Scrapbook Generation's October Free Sketch for this layout.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the fabulous favorite fall activities from the rest of the team. I hope you have a chance to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Christmas Cards All Year Round Mid Month Inspiration

Hello scrappy friends! Can you believe it's already the middle of October? Halloween will be here before we know it!

The middle of the month means it's time for the mid month inspiration from the Christmas Belles at Christmas Cards All Year Round. Our challenge for October is to use a little, or a lot, of orange on your holiday project.

At first I was going to go with a snowman and add a little bit of orange with his carrot nose. Then I came across this scrap of My Mind's Eye Colorful Christmas, and I couldn't resist those orange trees. I added the sentiment on an orange banner to get a little more of the color on there.

I used this older sketch from Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge blog:

Be sure to stop by the Christmas Cards All Year Round blog to see how much, or how little, orange the rest of the Christmas Belles used on their cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great weekend!

PDE Linky Party #142

Hello again crafty friends! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Today is the second Friday of the month, so that means our new challenge at PDE Linky Party is:

Ch #142 - All Cards!

That's right, we want to see your cards this week! Here is my card for this week:

I loved the color combo from the card I shared yesterday, so I decided to use it on another card! I used mostly scraps from the first card, but I did have to go in search of another piece of grey. I also used the same $1 bin stamp on this card. It's looking like most of my Christmas cards this year are going to have some sort of Christmas tree on them! That just seems to be what I am drawn to this year.

Head on over to the PDE Linky Party blog to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. There is a lot of inspiration, and I do hope you are inspired to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Flashback Friday #2

Hello everyone! Can you believe it is Friday again? Is time flying by at the speed of light - or is it just for me? I just can't seem to keep up!

Today at Sketch N Scrap we have our second Flashback Friday in honor of World Card Making Day. This week we have a brand new sketch, and we are welcoming back past design team member, Susan Renshaw for this sketch.

I pulled out some older Halloween stamps that haven't gotten a lot of use, and I also pulled some papers from my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge to make this card. Those little monsters are just too cute, and it always makes me happy to use a neglected supply!

Check out the Sketch N Scrap blog to see what the fabulous Susan Renshaw - and the rest of the design team - did with this sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'll be back soon with another project to share with you!

Merry Christmas with 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

Hi guys! I hope you are having a good day! The weather is cooler, the leaves are changing, and it's really starting to feel like fall! Well, at least for a couple of days...by the weekend and early next week we will be seeing the 80's again! Gotta love this ever changing weather!

I have a card to share with you today. I loved the color challenge this week over at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. It is a color combo that I don't use very often, especially for Christmas cards, but this challenge may have changed that! Here is a look at the colors:

I just love that soft blue and mint green with the grey. It is just so pretty! Here is the card that I came up with:

The blue and green papers that I used on this card have been in my stash for years! I'm not sure why I haven't used them before...I guess they were some of those that I have been saving for the perfect project to come along! I used one of my favorite old $1 bin stamp sets for the tree and the sentiment. I just love that little, simple tree! I added in a little wooden star to the top of the tree, and I thought about adding in some sequins, but I couldn't get it to look anything but cluttered, so I decided against them.

Be sure to check out the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown blog. They have great challenges to get you going, and they are a great place for Christmas card inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great Thursday - just one more day until the weekend!

Paper Play Sketches #17

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style reveal, please scroll down or go here.

We have a brand new sketch and some awesome news at Paper Play Sketches today! Starting this week our sketch challenges will now be weekly!

Here is this week's sketch:

I could not resist Doodlebug's Boo's and Brew's collection when I saw it. Once I had it home I couldn't wait to create with it.

I love the little cut apart sheet's in the 6x6 paper pad - they are just the perfect size for this sketch!

I have lots of ideas in my head of how else I would like to use this sketch, so I am sure you will be seeing it again!

Be sure to stop by the Paper Play Sketches blog to see what Janis, Amy, and Georgiana have created. I hope that you are inspired to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style #46

Hello, hello! Here we are at the middle of the week, heading ever so quickly towards the weekend! We have a family get together to look forward to on Saturday. It's been a while since the whole family has gotten together, so I'm hoping to get lots of good family pictures!

Today is my day to be featured on the Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style blog. We have another great sketch courtesy of Cherie Averill.

For my card and layout I used the Simple Stories Hello Fall collection. This is such a cute fall line and I know I'm going to have to try to get some more of it! This layout used up the majority of the 6x6 paper pad, and I still have lots of things I would like to make with it!

Here's a look at the layout:

I kept things pretty simple on this layout and didn't do a lot of embellishing. I used the cut apart cards that came in the collection for my journaling and for some of the filler cards. A few of the photos I left as is. I may go back and add a little word strip, but for now they will just stay photos.

And each page individually for a closer look!

I feel like I am ever changing the way I do this way of scrapping. Sometimes I spend a lot of time worrying about if I have embellished enough, but in the end it's my scrapbook and if I am happy with it, then that's all that matters! The main thing is getting these little stories of our every day life told!

We have a fun stamp set up for grabs this month! Be sure to get your cards/layouts linked up for a chance to win this:

Remember to check out the Sketches In Thyme Project Life Style blog every single day for some new inspiration!

I will be back soon to share another project with you. Until then, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #292

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope your day is off to a good start! We are supposed to have a warm, almost summer like day, today. 80 degrees in October...I'll take another hot day!

We have a new sketch posted at Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday today. We are continuing with our "Getting Ready For The Holidays" theme, so your cards - all month long - need to be holiday cards. Our optional theme this week is "Tag along".

I used The Paper Studio's Christmas Basics 6x6 paper pad for this card. I really love this paper pad! The stamped image is from an older Close To My Heart stamp set. I believe it came with a workshop on the go kit since it does not have a name on the envelope.

Stop by the Try Stampin' blog to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you find some time to play along with us! Our challenge runs for two weeks and you can link up on the blog or on our Facebook page here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Stick It Down October Card Reveal

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you! I am running a bit behind this morning, so let's get started. Today is the full reveal for the card team at Stick It Down. Here's a reminder of what the sketch - courtesy of Laura Rumble- looks like:

For my card I embossed the background with a snowflake embossing folder, matted it on a piece of silver glitter paper, and then matted that onto the card base. I created the "Let it snow" circle on my computer and added in the silver glitter snowflake.

This is such a fun sketch and has lots of possibilities! I am sure I will use it again!

Be sure to stop by Stick It Down to see what the rest of the design team did with this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

PDE Linky Party Ch #141

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Monthly Schedule

Today is the first Friday of the month and that means a new challenge is up at PDE Linky Party. This week's challenge is:

Ch #141 - Anything Goes

I have created a thank you card using Dear Lizzy's Polka Dot Party 6x6 paper pad. I love this color combination, and this paper from the pad really did all the work for me! I just added a little bit of black grosgrain ribbon down the line!

I based this card off of this sketch that I found here.

Check out the PDE Linky Party blog and see the projects from the rest of the design team. I do hope that you play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Sketch N Scrap Flashback Friday

Hello! Happy Friday! Can you believe we are already back around to the weekend?! At this rate the holidays will be here before we know it - at least for me!

In honor of World Card Making Day, we at Sketch N Scrap are celebrating all month long with a special treat for you each Friday. This first Friday is Flashback Friday, and we are taking you back to our very first card sketch!

I love the simplicity and the timelessness of this sketch. It is one that can be used over and over and never get old.

For my card I used Pink Paislee's Pen Pals 6x6 paper pad. The typewriter and sentiment are from Close To My Heart - Share the Love (CC1060) stamp set. I was going to add something in the bottom right corner like it shows in the sketch, but the paper is so busy and it just seemed to get lost.

Stop by Sketch N Scrap to see how the rest of the design team used this throwback sketch. I look forward to seeing what you create with it, too! Stay tuned because next Friday we will be bringing you another special treat!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll be back a little later with another project to share with you!
