Backyard Golf {12/50}

Good afternoon! Two posts in one day...I am on a role!

Inspired to Scrap is having another Weekend Warriors sketch class this weekend. $5 gets you access to the class section of the board where you will find great tips and techniques and a total of 7 new sketches. Of course there is a ton of great inspiration from the other class members, too, and did I mention there is an awesome prize?! Things got started yesterday with a pre class sketch, and I actually found some time to get it done!

Supplies used - Patterned paper - grey grid - My Mind's Eye, green stars - Crate Paper, blue dot - Echo Park, enamel dots - Doodlebug Designs, Alphas - EK Success - Golf, EK Success stamps - backyard, Chevron stamps - Sassafrass Lass, border punch - Fiskars.

I really, really, really love  the sketch and I'm sure it's one I will use again. I've had these old pictures of Matthew laying on my desk forever. I think I've had them out for the last two classes and they just didn't make it onto a page. Matthew was 5 in these photos, so yeah, time to get them scrapped!

I used up more papers from my stash and scraps and I even dusted off the chevron stamp and put it to use, too!

Have a great day and until next time!

Ada & Trigger {11/50}

Summer has definitely arrived around here. Temps staying right around 90 and the nice, bright sunshine...I love summer! And those hot days are great for staying inside where it's nice and cool and scrapping!

Things have been pretty busy around here this past week with my birthday and then Father's day being celebrated - throw in keeping Ada over night on Friday and it seems like time is flying by! I do have a layout to share today. I have had this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy printed off for over a week now and I finally got to put it to use. Here is the sketch:

And my take on it:

Supplies used - Patterned Paper - green dot - Echo Park, orange dot - CTMH, Alpha stickers - Thickers, Cat die cuts and stickers - Simple Stories, tab stamp - Take Ten Kits.

I used some pictures of Ada "petting" her kitty Trigger. She's really pretty good with the little fur ball, but once in a while she'll grab a handful of fur and pull! When I first saw the pictures, the Soft Kitty song from The Big Bang Theory popped in my head, so I had to add that, too!

I am up to project #11 of my 50 Projects! It's been slow going, but I'm getting there!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking Of You LCOM #75 - Card

Good Monday morning! I came across this sketch this weekend over at the LCOM blog and knew that I wanted to make a card using it, so I pulled out one of my favorite 6x6 paper pads from Pebbles and got to work.

This is what I came up with:
supplies used - Patterned Paper - Pebbles - Front Porch 6x6 pad, wood butterfly - Recollections, scalloped border punch - EK Success, sentiment stamp - Hero Arts, charcoal chalk ink.

And while I had my scraps out on my desk I made a couple of filler cards for my Project Life album.

I even based one of my cards off of the card sketch. Love how these turned out!

Be sure to stop by the LCOM blog and check out their beautiful creations. They also have a great layout sketch that I hope to use before the end of the month.

I am also linking this up over at The Memory Nest for their Crafty Creations #19.

I have made it to project #10 of 50 Projects!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Project #9 - Ada

Cookin' Up Creations is turning 5 and they are celebrating their birthday all month long. That means a new challenge posted every day. This morning I finally got a chance to play along with their first challenge which was a sketch and color challenge.

Here is the sketch:

And the color scheme:

And my layout:
Supplies Used - Pattern Paper - October Afternoon, Alphas - American Crafts Thickers, Flags - DCWV, "Cute" sticker - Michaels, heart punches - Martha Stewart - small, Marvy Uchida - mini.

I always struggle with color challenges because I want the colors to match exactly - that's just me. The colors on these papers are pretty muted compared to the brights, but I do have a blue, pink, green, yellow and orange on there! I used some of the Cakewalk collection from October Afternoon that I'd won some time last year.

That's it for today - thanks for stopping by!

Ahh - Summer!

I am really enjoying these long summer days! No schedule to speak of, getting caught up on the computer and spending time in my scrappy room - it's just so nice!  I have projects #7 and 8 to share today.

The first is a layout of Shane doing his favorite summertime activity - swimming.

Supplies used: Patterned Paper - Bo Bunny - green dot, Echo Park - light blue, dark blue, Simple Stories - graph paper, Enamel Dots - Doodlebug Designs, Sun brad - Echo Park, Alpha and word stickers - Simple Stories, Border Punch - Fiskars.

I made this layout for a telephone scraplift that I joined in on over at Cookin' Up Creations. It's not my normal style, but that's what I like about these challenges once in a while. I had to really think about this, as the original had a lot of fussy cutting and just wasn't my style. But I really like how this one turned out, and you can bet I'll sign up for another round of telephone scraplift!

I'm also sharing a card that I made for my daughter. She just finished up her first year of teaching, so I thought she deserved a little congrats from me!

I had seen this Youtube video several weeks ago and I really liked her card. I have lots of scraps I could have used for this, but instead I pulled out my much neglected washi tapes and went to town! I stamped the sentiment and added a few wood veneer stars and it was done!

Two more projects done! As always - thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop

Good morning and welcome to the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop for June. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. You should have found your way here from Casandra's awesome blog. If this is your first stop, you might want to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then make your way through each stop.
For my layout I used the free bonus sketch that you receive when you buy any of the May sketch downloads.

Supplies used - Patterned paper - Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety - yellow, dot, vegetable and stripe, Crate Paper - light and dark green, Kraft cardstock - Close To My Heart, Alphas - Pebbles, Sun and cloud wood veneer - Take Ten Kits, flair - Lawn Fawn.

I took a bunch of pictures of my granddaughter, Ada, on Friday when she turned 6 months old. I can't believe she is already 6 months, yet it feels like she's been with us forever. These photos of her in the garden are my favorites from Friday and this sketch was perfect to get them scrapped. I remembered I had this paper from Cosmo Cricket that I have been saving - forever - and knew it was time to get it used up. I love the paper with the vegetables all over it, and since I didn't have any embellishments left, I just fussy cut some of the vegetables to accent the layout.

This is project #6/50 for my 50 Projects challenge. I'll keep pluggin' away at it and before long I'll have my first round done!

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the Scrapbook Generation store, and there is a free one every month in case you want to try it out.

Next on the hop is Tasha. Check out her blog and see what she has created - she is an awesome scrapper! Be sure and leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on Monday, June 9th which leaves you one week to leave a comment.

Father's Day Card - Project 5/50

The prompt this week for the 52 week card challenge at Scrappin N Chattin is Father's Day. I struggle with masculine cards, but when you have papers like  Echo Park Times and Season's paper, it makes it a little easier. I've had these papers in my stash for a while and loved being able to pull them out and make something with them. I used a card sketch from Scrapbook Generation's January 2013 downloads and that made it come together even quicker.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are having a beautiful day!
