HIMCR #333 - Freestyle

Hello and Happy Saturday! I hope that you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend!

Hiding In My Craft Room has a new challenge posted today and since it is the 5th Saturday of the month that means it is "Freestyle"! You can enter any type of project that you want!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Laurie's Craft Room and the prize is $10 and free shipping from her eBay store.

For my card, I have used Panda with cup digital stamp from Little Blue Button Stamps, and Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaids - Chill - 6x6 paper pad. I thought about adding a sentiment to the front of my card but couldn't find anything that fit - size wise - so I just added it to the inside of the card instead.

Be sure to stop by the Hiding In My Craft Room to see the fun projects from the rest of the design team. We hope you join us for our freestyle challenge this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

I'm so excited!!!

Hello, everyone! Happy Friday to you! I can't believe that our Christmas break is almost over! It has been so nice, but I am looking forward to the new year!

I am so excited to share with you that I am a Master Forger for the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog!

I have been a follower of theirs for quite a while now and I love what they are all about. If you have followed my blog for any time at all, then you know I am passionate about using up my stash and the Counterfeit Kits Challenge is a great way to do just that! If you're not familiar with them, here is how it works.

Each month we create a personalized kit based off of a past kit from one of the kit clubs that are so popular right now. Our kit is created with things that we already have in our stash. Maybe we have the same paper or something similar, or maybe we have just taken inspiration from their kit and created our own. Then we challenge one another to actually use those kits.

This is a great way to scrap if you don't have a lot of time - make up a kit and then when you have a couple of minutes to sit down and scrap you are good to go!

I have had so much fun putting together my kit for January and can't wait to reveal it to you all on the first!

Head on over to Counterfeit Kit Challenge to meet the rest of the new Master Forgers for 2018 and have a look around. I hope you'll be inspired to play along with us in 2018!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #244- #hello

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope - that if you celebrate Christmas - you had a wonderful holiday. We had three jam-packed days of family fun with lots of fun memories made. I took a much needed mini break from all things internet - only checking in on a few things that  needed my attention.

Today I am back with my take on this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch:

Anytime I see an oval on a sketch I know I will be substituting it with a rectangle. Not that I have anything against ovals, I just have never purchased an oval die. It's on my list of supplies to get in the new year! Plus, using a rectangle gives me a good excuse to use up some of my many project life style cards.

For my card, I have used a cut apart card from Close To My Heart's - Some Kinda Wonderful - collection. I love the fun, bright colors in this collection - they were just what I needed to brighten my mood on this cold, cloudy, winter's day. Hopefully this card will brighten up someone else's day, too.

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow for the full design team reveal and last week's Top 3. Now that the busyness of the holiday season is almost over, maybe you can find some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope that you have a great day!

HIMCR #332 - Any Holiday

Hello, everyone! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Let's December Daily reveal, please scroll down or go here

We have a new challenge for you today at Hiding In My Craft Room. This week our challenge is "Any Holiday" and our sponsor is the fabulous MHK Design. Our prize is 3 products from their online store.

I have moved on from Christmas cards and made a "Happy New Year" card for this week. I loved this image - so retro - and the sentiments that come along with it are all great. I have used paper from Fancy Pants' - Atwell - 6x6 paper pad. I thought the rings on the paper looked like champagne bubbles floating up - fitting for a new year's card!

Be sure to check out the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team over at Hiding In My Craft Room. We would love it if you played along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope that you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #112

Hello, hello! Here we are at the middle of the week. Today is the last day that my daughter has to work, which means it's almost my Christmas break, too! I'm looking forward to sleeping in a little later and not having anywhere to be for a week or two!

Sketch N Scrap has their final sketch of the year posted over on the blog today. Lisa has created a great card sketch for us to work with. I created a Christmas card for today because it is almost Christmas, but I know I will be using it to make a birthday card soon!

I have used Fancy Pants' - Be Merry - 6x6 paper pad for this card. I have mostly scraps left of this paper pad and it took a little work to get what scraps I had to work, but I like the way that it turned out. The sentiment is a stamp from Close To My Heart and it is one of my favorites this year.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. You have until December 31st at 9:55 p.m. CST to play along for a chance at a fun prize!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #293 - Holiday Stamp

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Stick It Down reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Use Your Stuff has a new challenge up today. This week Amanda is challenging us to use a holiday stamp. It doesn't have to be a Christmas stamp, but you need to use some sort of holiday stamp on your project.

I have used my favorite Santa stamp from Close To My Heart for this card. It's hard to see it in the photo, but I added Wink Of Stella to Santa's beard and the trim on his coat and hat. I've also used up a couple of more papers from my 100 patterned paper challenge stash.

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you can find some time this week to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Stick It Down December Card Reveal

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! It's the week before Christmas and it looks like it's going to be a really busy one for me! So much to get done!

Today is the full card design team reveal at Stick It Down. Here is a reminder of what the card sketch looks like:

I have had this tree stamp in my stash for a couple of years now and do believe this is the first time I have actually used it. When I saw the sketch, this was the first thing I thought of to use. I added a wood veneer star to the top of the tree and I thought about stamping a sentiment in one of the upper corners, but decided against it - the inside will have to do!

Head on over to Stick It Down to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be right back with another project to share with you!

HIMCR #331 - Use a Digi!

Hello and Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is off to a good start! You can bet that I will be finishing up my Christmas shopping this weekend!

Hiding In My Craft Room has a fun new challenge posted today! This week our challenge is to use a digital image on your project.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Digital Delights and the prize is a $5 gift certificate to their store.

The design team was given this super cute reindeer image to work with this week:

A pretty quick and simple card all ready to be mailed. I colored this cute little guy with colored pencils, die cut him into a circle and added him to my card. I thought it needed a little something more, so I stamped my sentiment and added it to the scalloped border piece.

Be sure to stop by Hiding In My Craft Room to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #242

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Try Stampin' On Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a great new sketch posted on the blog for this week.

As promised in my earlier post, I have used more of the Echo Park - Anything Goes - 6x6 paper pad and the stamp and die set from Sizzix for my card. I had a little trouble with the white panel part on this card. I played around with other patterned papers, but with the busy chevron strip, I couldn't get any of them to work without being way too busy for my liking. I kept going back to the plain white background and it was almost too plain. Once I decided to emboss that panel with my swiss dot embossing folder I liked it much better.

Once again I heat embossed my sentiment and the party hat. I really like the white on the darker backgrounds for a change.

Be sure to stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog and check out the new sketch. The full design team reveals will be tomorrow. I hope you have some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  I hope you have a fantastic day!

Try Stampin' On Tuesday #352

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday! This week is moving right along.

We have a new sketch for you today at Try Stampin' On Tuesday. This week's sketch is courtesy of Kaylin and our optional theme is "Time to Celebrate".

When I first saw the optional theme, my first thought was to make a New Years card, then I came across this birthday stamp and die set from Sizzix in my stash that has been neglected for far too long, and thought I would go with it instead. I need to work on getting more birthday cards in my stash for the new year.

One thing that I plan on doing in the coming year is get better at heat embossing on my cards! I am going to add to my embossing powder collection this year - currently I have white, black, and gold, which is not a bad start, but the black and gold are a glitter type embossing powder and I would like to get a metallic gold and plain black. I only had to stamp and emboss these images once this time around - usually I'm having to do it multiple times to get it right. Practice makes perfect and I am determined to perfect this technique in the new year!

The papers I have used are from Echo Park's - Anything Goes - 6x6 paper pad. The colors and patterns in this paper pad are just my style, and you just may see another card later today using this paper pad and stamp set - stay tuned!

Be sure to stop by Try Stampin' On Tuesday to see the cards from the rest of the design team. This will be our last challenge until the first of the year. We are taking a couple of weeks off to have a little extra time this holiday season!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

LM #374 - Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend. Ours has been pretty quiet - which is really nice once in a while!

We have a new challenge for you today at Lasting Memories. Our theme for the month is "Winter/December Holiday Traditions" and this week our challenge is a tic tac toe challenge. Create a Winter/December Holiday layout and use the following tic tac toe board. Use the items in any row going up and down, across, or diagonally.

Doing a December Daily this year has really had me thinking about different stories and things that I want to be sure and get pictures of this holiday season. Ada loves to look at all of the ornaments on the tree. I'll find her at least once a day just looking at the tree and really looking at the ornaments. Every time that I ask her which ornament is her favorite, she always picks this pink lollipop that I got in our family ornament exchange in 2012. Since Ada always helps us decorate the tree, I thought it would be fun to start a new tradition of asking her which ornament is her favorite and see which one she picks each year.

I have used the last row on the tic tac toe board - sequins, stars, and wood veneer. The papers are from Doodlebug Designs "Sugarplum" collection - I just love those little ornaments and the non traditional colors on this layout! I have used acrylic stars from Elle's Studio, wood veneer from Hobby Lobby and Studio Calico, and the sequins have been in my stash for a long time!

The ornament paper and the pink striped paper were in my 100 Patterned Paper Challenge box, so that is two more papers that I got used up!

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. I know it's a busy time of year, but I do hope you find some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

HIMCR #330 - Super Scraps Saturday

Hello and Happy Saturday! It's just a little over two weeks until Christmas - are you all ready for it? I am not! I still have the majority of my shopping to do!

We have a new challenge posted today at Hiding In My Craft Room! It's the second Saturday and that means it is Super Scraps Saturday! We want you to dig into that box of scraps of use some of them up on your project this week!

Our sponsor for this challenge is Di's Digi Stamps and the giveaway is a $12 gift certificate to the store. Be sure to check them out!

Since this is Super Scraps Saturday, I dug into my scrap box and found a few scraps of the Simple Stories - December Documented - 6x6 paper pad. There wasn't a lot of it left, but I was able to make a card with what was!

For my card today, I have used a digi from Scribbles Designs called Festive Tree #F(151). I just discovered this site and I really liked the images that I saw there! I fell in love with this cute little skinny tree! I know it will be showing up on more projects to come! The sentiment is from a Studio G $1 bin stamp set that has been sitting in my stash - unused - for far too long! I added a wood veneer star to the top of my tree, and you can't tell it in the photo, but I have gone over the "snow" at the bottom of the tree with my Wink of Stella pen to give it a little shine.

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. You have until Saturday, Dec.16 at 2 a.m, CST to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #291 - Woodgrain

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and are ready for the new week.

We have a new challenge for you today at Use Your Stuff. This week Gail is challenging us to use some woodgrain in our projects. This could be paper, wood pieces, or woodgrain embossing folders.

Here is the card that I have created:

Hey, I've created something other than a Christmas card! It seems like those are the only types of cards that I have made these last couple of months! It was nice to create something different for a change.

I've used papers from Simple Stories - Homespun 6x6 paper pad - the first collection that I thought of when I saw this challenge. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts stamp set - CL582 - and stamped in versamark ink and heat embossed with Zing white embossing powder. I added a button from my stash to finish it off.

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful woodgrain projects from the rest of the design team. We hope you find some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Lasting Memories #373 - Winter/December Holiday Traditions - Sketch Challenge

Hello, everyone! I am running just a little bit behind getting my layout up for today's challenge at Lasting Memories.

This month our challenges are courtesy of DT Sandy and our theme is - Winter/December Holiday traditions and this week we have a sketch challenge! The sketch is courtesy of Laura Whitaker:

I wanted to use a photo of Scott and I with the boys from last Christmas and I didn't want to - or more like couldn't - cut it into a circle, so I used the circles as a sort of mat for my photo instead.

The background paper is from my 100 patterned paper challenge pile, and is from an old Lilybee collection - Buttercup. All of the other papers are from Bella Blvd's - Holly Jolly - collection. I added in a stamped Christmas tree that I had on my desk. I think I may go back and add in some enamel dots scattered around the layout...what do you think? Would it be circle overload?

Be sure to stop by Lasting Memories to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great night!

HIMCR #329 - Christmas Colors

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope that your weekend is off to a good start. We are getting ready to go celebrate my granddaughter's 4th birthday today. Where in the world did the last 4 years go?!

We have a great new challenge for you today at Hiding In My Craft Room. It's the first Saturday of the month and that means we have a color challenge for you today. Just use Christmas colors for your project.

Our sponsor for this week is The Paper Shelter and the prize is a $15 gift certificate to their store.

The design team was given a couple of different digital papers and images from The Paper Shelter to work with this week. Here is what I came up with:

I made a square card - which I don't normally do. It's fun to work with a different style once in a while. The image that I used was pre-colored, so after I printed it out, I fussy cut it and added it to some foam tape to give it a little dimension.

Head on over to HIMCR to see the beautiful work from the design team. We would love it if you played along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style #91

Hello again! I am back with my fourth post of the day. The first is always a busy day around here!

We have a new sketch posted today at Sketches In Thyme PL Style. Our first sketch for December is courtesy of Shawn and of course, I had to make a card for my December Daily. Here's a look at the sketch:

Since this will probably be a journaling card for when we put up our tree, I substituted circles for the triangles. I thought the circles fit the better for what I was going for. I stamped the "(heart)this tradition" onto one of the labels that I had already die cut and added it one of the circles. My journaling will be added a little later when I actually put this spread together.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme PL Style to see how the rest of the design team interpreted the sketch. I know it's a busy month, but I do hope you find some time to get scrappy!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

LTCCB #17 - Anything Goes

Hello again! I am back with my third project of the day! If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here. If you are looking for  my LTSCB reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Love To Craft Challenge Blog has their December challenge posted today. Our challenges are always "Anything Goes" and you can enter any type of craft project you would like! I have another Christmas card for you today.

I pulled out my Doodlebug Designs - Here Comes Santa Claus - 6x6 paper pad and went to work. This is one of my favorite papers from that collection, so any time I can use it, you know I will!

I based my card off of this card sketch from Pagemaps:

I embossed the white cardstock piece at the top with my swiss dot embossing folder and I was going to add a sentiment to the front, but I just couldn't get anything to work. The little tree is a sticker from the same collection matted onto a die cut pinked circle. I love the way this card turned out!

Be sure to stop by the LTCCB to see the wonderful projects from the rest of the design team. I hope in this busy holiday season that you make some time to get scrappy!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

LTSCB #104 - Winter Wonderland

Hello, hello! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap, please scroll down or go here.

Love to Scrap Challenge Blog has a fun new challenge for you today. Our challenge for December is "Winter Wonderland". This month I got to work with a fun image from Bugaboo Stamps called "Winter Snowman". I just love this little snowman!

I used Pebbles" - Holly Jolly - 6x6 paper pad for this card and I colored the image with colored pencils. The sentiment is a $1 bin stamp from Studio G, I am loving putting these little stamps to use this year!

Head on over to LTSCB to see the gorgeous cards from the rest of the design team. I hope to see you playing along with us in December!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be right back with one more project to share with you today!

Sketch N Scrap #142 - Ready to Ride

Hello, scrappy friends! Happy Friday and Happy December 1st! Wow, this year has gone by so fast! It's going to be a busy day around the old blog, so let's get started!

Sketch N Scrap has a new sketch posted today, courtesy of Lisa, and it is one of my favorites from this year!

I just love these photos of Ada on her balance bike with her backpack on like a big girl! I have to get with Abby for the all the details again - I think these photos were taken about the time that school started last year...or maybe it was the end of the school year...whatever the case, Ada needed her backpack filled with her goodies when they went for a walk/ride. Just a little glimpse into what is going to be happening in another couple of years!

The papers that I have used are from Becky Higgins Strawberry collection - I think...I just love the heart paper and the chunky stripes paper under the photos was the perfect match to the colors in the photos. I haven't added my journaling yet -like I said, I need to get with Abby to get all of the details, but I will probably add either journaling strips in the bottom right corner, or else I will journal on the yellow stripe paper under the photos.

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the fabulous layouts from the rest of the design team. We hope you have some time to play along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be back soon with another project to share with  you!
