Southern Girls Challenge - It's a Stick Up

Hello, hello! It's time for a new challenge at Southern Girls Challenge. This week we are challenging you to use a sticker on your projects.

Our sponsor for this challenge is Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez. Be sure to stop by and check them out!

I have created a Christmas card for my project this week:

For the challenge, I used a sticker from an Echo Park sticker sheet to serve as the sentiment for my card. I pulled out some papers scraps from my Christmas bin and went to work.

I based my card off of this sketch from Catch The Bug Challenge Blog:

Be sure to stop by the Southern Girls Challenge blog to see the beautiful projects using stickers from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #288

Hello, everyone! I hope that your week is off to a good start. I can't believe that tomorrow is Halloween! October has gone by so quickly and I am sure November will be the same.

Today I am sharing my take on Sketch #288 at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here is a look at this week's sketch:

I

I kind of struggled with this sketch a bit, but once I decided on the type of card I was going to make it got a little easier. I won't say it's my favorite card but I do like how it turned out.

I used Carta Bella's - Christmas Delivery - 6x6 paper pad for the red paper and the floral paper, and the green for my background is an old KI Memories paper from 2008. The sentiment is from a Kaisercraft stamp set - Mistletoe, and the tree is from an Echo Park sticker sheet. I added some foam tape to the tree to give it a little dimension.

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow to see the full design team reveal and to see last week's Top 3. I would love to see your take on the sketch so be sure to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

LM #419 - Autumn Splendor

Hello, everyone! I hope that you are having a good weekend! It's a beautiful fall weekend here in the middle of the US and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Today is the start of a new set of challenges at Lasting Memories. This month we are all about techniques and this week our challenge is to use 2 or more torn papers on our layouts.

I am still working on some older fall photos so I made a layout of Ada's first experience with fall.

I pulled out my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit and put it work for this layout. You can read more about it here. I am actually putting a dent in this mega kit that I created and getting older photos scrapped!

I used Fancy Pants' - Happy Go Lucky - papers on this layout, stickers from an old Echo Park collection - Fall Fever - the alpha stickers are old Jillibean Soup, my new favorite Dollar Tree find - glitter dots, and the leaves are die cut using dies from Paper Smooches and the hearts were die cut using dies from Lawn Fawn.

I tore both the red dot paper and the yellow gingham paper along the top edge and then inked the torn edge with Tim Holtz - walnut stain - distress ink.

Here are a couple of close-ups of the embellishments:

I can remember this day like it was yesterday! How can it have been 4 years ago?! It was a beautiful fall day and Ada and I had gone outside to explore. The trees looked so pretty and the leaves were really starting to fall. I sat Ada down under one of the trees and she was so curious about all of the leaves that were on the ground around her.

I took a lot of photos that day and I think my favorite one is the bottom photo of her chubby little hand touching the leaf! Of course, it wasn't long before she picked it up and it went straight to the mouth!

I still need to add my journaling to the bottom right corner by the leaf and heart die. I know I will be making at least one more layout with the photos from this day, so I just need to figure out what journaling is going to go on what layout.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see how the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. It's going to be a fun month and I hope you join us!

Her Superpower Is...Scrap Our Stash Blend a Sketch

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope you're having a good weekend!

Today is my day to be featured at Scrap Our Stash with my take on the October Blend A Sketch Challenge. Not only are we to blend the two sketches below, but we also need to use diagonal patterned paper on our layouts. Here is a look at this month's sketches:

This is always one of my favorite challenges to work with. I really loved both of these sketches and could see myself using each one individually, but it's always fun to blend them together to see what I can come up with.

Here is a look at my layout:

For my layout, I took the big circle element behind the photos and the big banner from the second sketch and the photo mats, tab, and circle elements from the first sketch to create my layout. My diagonal paper is part of my photo mats.

I added two thin paper strips at the top and the bottom of my layout to help "hold it all together" if that makes sense!

I have used Simple Stories' - Dream Big - collection for my layout and since Ada's shirt has a cute little unicorn on it, I thought it was the perfect time to use one of the unicorn puffy stickers in the collection.

Be sure to check out Scrap Our Stash as we have design team inspiration every single day of the week! I would love to see your take on this fun challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #335 - Mood Board

Happy Monday! It's the start of a new week and the start of a new challenge at Use Your Stuff!

This week we have a fantastic fall mood board to inspire you! There are so many things on this mood board to be inspired by - what will inspire you?

For my card, I was inspired by the fall leaves and the colors on the mood board to create a "Thankful" card:

I used papers from my September Counterfeit Kit (you can read more about it here) - mostly scraps from my 6x6 paper pads that I had included. I just love the gold, orange, cream, and kraft colors on this card!

The leaf stamp and the sentiment are from Close To My Heart - (Z4041) Falling For You. I have had this stamp set in my supplies for a while now and I can't believe this is the first time that I have inked  it up! I'm sure you will be seeing it more in the future!

I based my card off of this sketch from Palm trees and Pogo sticks - I just love this design:

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see how the rest of the design team was inspired to use this mood board. We would love to see your take on it, too!

Boo! - Sketch N Scrap #132

Hello, everyone! Good Saturday morning to you! We've got another busy weekend ahead of us and I can't wait. Tis the season for weenie roasts and time with family!

It's time for the second card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. Lisa has created a great card sketch with lots of possibilities! I know I will be using this one again!

While going through and reorganizing my old paper, I came across these Halloween papers and couldn't wait to use them on a project. The good thing about using them on a card is there are still plenty of scraps that can be used for a layout!

The sentiment is a Poppy Stamps die and the little ghosties (my favorite of all time) are from  Taylored Expressions. I die cut the sentiment four times and layered them on top of each other for a little dimension, and I also added foam tape to the back of the ghosts. I love how this turned out and it makes me so happy to have used some older papers, too!

Don't forget - our Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice Crop is still going on on our Facebook Events page. We would love to see you playing along! Come on over and join us here - https://www.facebook.com/events/2045140885706643/

We will also have our 3rd exclusive World Card Making Day sketch posted over on the blog this afternoon.

Head on over to the blog to see how the rest of the design team used this sketch. You have until the 31st at 9:55 p.m. CST to play along!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style #112

Hello, hello! Happy Friday to you! We have made it to the weekend and that makes me one happy girl!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style has a new sketch posted today and Emma has created a fun one for us. I can see myself using this sketch over and over - it's perfect for title cards and it would be a great journaling card, too!

Here's a look at the sketch:

And here is my card:

So...I was so excited to work on this "First Halloween" spread for Miss Ada's First Year album. I already had my photos printed and was ready to go - until...I realized that I did not resize my photos for this spread and there is no way that I can cut down a 4x6 to fit into a 3x4 pocket without cutting off too much important stuff. Ugh! One of these days I'll get it all together! Or maybe it's time I invested in a photo printer for home!

I just love how this card turned out! I used scraps from an old Bella Blvd Halloween collection - Happy Halloween. Scraps is all I have left of this cute collection, but luckily they are mostly big enough to make these little cards! The letter stickers are from a little Teresa Collins sticker book and those cute little ghosties are die cut using a die from Taylored Expressions.

Ada was a shark for her first Halloween so there is a lot of grey in the photos which is why I chose the turquoise and black colors. I'm sure a bit of grey, orange, yellow, and purple will show up in this spread as well.

I am off to pick up another photo order - with the right size photos in it. I will add in the finished layout when I get it done.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme PL Style to see the projects from the rest of the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a fabulous Friday!

Sketches In Thyme #345

Hello, hello! Good Wednesday morning to you! The weather is finally starting to warm back up to normal temperatures after a few days of below normal cold temperatures. No wonder it feels like we go from summer straight to winter when we skip the 60's and 70's and go right to the 30's and 40's! Hopefully, normal fall temps are here to stay for a little while!

I am featured today over on the Sketches In Thyme blog with my take on Sketch #345. Here is a look at the sketch, courtesy of Jenessa:

I am still working on getting older fall photos scrapped, and I am still working with my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge (you can read all about it here). I had filled my kit with lots of fall papers in hopes of getting some of them used up and I am sticking with it until that kit is used!

Since taking a family photo in front of the pretty trees is tradition, it gets a little hard to come up with a title that hasn't been used over and over. I decided to go with the date of the photo as my title for something a little different.

I used a mix Fancy Pants, Simple Stories, October Afternoon, and I'm not really sure of where the green is from, I had to pull it from my stash as I had none in my kit. I fussy cut the leaves out of one of the Fancy Pants papers and the printed wood veneer pieces are from Pinkfresh - Oh My Heart. I added some gold hearts and gold splatters, too.

I decided to add in more banners as opposed to the squares at the top of the page. The squares and the border strip at the top of the page just didn't work together well for me.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme for inspiration every single day of the week. We would love to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #286

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! We are two days into the new week and I am already ready for the weekend again!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has their latest sketch posted over on the blog and I am here to share my card inspired by the sketch. Here's a look at the fun sketch:

When I first saw this sketch I knew I wanted to use a Christmas tree on it. Then, I thought maybe I should go with a fall theme and use a big leaf.  I also thought about making a Halloween card and using a ghost...in the end, the Christmas tree won out, and I think this just might be one of my favorite Christmas cards that I have made.

I decided to go the easy route for this card and use a sticker as I didn't feel like digging out all of my Christmas stamps looking for the perfect tree. Although I'd better be getting out my supply of Christmas stamps since I really need to get busy with making my Christmas cards this year (I am a bit behind!).

The sticker is from an Echo Park sticker sheet from the Reflections Christmas collection. The polka dot paper is from that same collection and the green is from Echo Park's Merry Christmas collection from several years ago. The sentiment is from a Studio G $1 stamp. It is just the right size and so it gets used a lot! I added foam tape behind the tree and behind the sentiment to give them a little separation from the background.

Once I finally decided which type of card I was going to make, this card came together so quickly and like I said, it is one of my favorites!

The full design team reveals and last week's Top 3 will be up on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow so be sure to stop by and check it out!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Scribbles Designs #70 - Winter Is Coming

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I can't believe that it is already the middle of October! The middle of the month means a new challenge is posted over at Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

Challenge #70 is - Winter is Coming - and we want to see some form of snow/winter on your creations. This can be a snowman, snowflakes, icicles, frost, etc.

Here is my card for the challenge:

I used - F #144 Snowman 1 for the focal point of my card. Snowmen are my favorite and this little guy is too cute!

I added Wink of Stella to the snowman to give him the sparkly look of freshly fallen snow and added black rhinestones for his eyes and buttons. I also fussy cut him and added him on top of the same image with some foam tape for a little dimension.

The sentiment is an old Studio G $1 bin stamp and it is a perfect match for this cute image!

Head on over to the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog to see the wintery cards from the rest of the design team. We hope you have a chance to play along with our challenge!

Singing Her Song - Scrap Our Stash

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll on down.

Today is my day to be featured over at Scrap Our Stash with my take on the October Golden Globe Stash Challenge. Here is the movie that we are to be inspired by and the added challenge to use bling/rhinestones on our layouts:

I can't believe that I have never seen this movie - especially since I have a granddaughter who is all about watching movies and who loves to sing! I thought these photos of her performing for us were perfect for this challenge!

I knew I had this music note paper from an old My Mind's Eye paper pad and I really didn't know if I would ever have an opportunity to use it, but when I saw this challenge, I knew it would be perfect for this page. I also had picked up a pack of these guitar stickers a couple of years ago, and finally, I have a reason to use one!

About these photos - we have this little guitar that the boys got back when they were pretty little. It was pretty neglected until Ada came along, and boy, does she love to play it and to sing us some songs! She mostly makes them up as she goes along - once in a while, she'll sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star - and they can go on, and on, and on! I love to hear her little songs!

For my bling/rhinestones, I used gold glitter alphas and some gold gems. Here are a couple of close-ups:

Sketch N Scrap World Card Making Day Sketch #2

Hello and Happy Saturday! It is the weekend and I have been looking forward to it all week long! It's going to be a dreary, rainy weekend, and after a quick visit with my son at college today - and maybe a little scrappy shopping - I plan on spending the rest of my weekend in my scrap room!

Are you ready for a new card sketch? Today Sketch N Scrap is posting their second exclusive bonus sketch for World Card Making Day. This sketch is courtesy of Heather:

I went old school on my card and used mostly cardstock - the only patterned paper is the green - which was a little scrap piece in my scrap box. I used an argyle embossing folder on the white panel to give it a little interest.

I punched one-inch circles out of the green paper and three quarter inch circles out of red to layer on top of the tag. I also moved my sentiment to on top of the circles instead of below them. Some twine and a few little red gems finished it off.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch. I hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Selfie Sidekick - Counterfeit Kit Challenge October Challenge #1

Hello, hello! Happy Friday to you! Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am! I am looking forward to getting to sleep in a bit for a couple of days! It's looking like it might be a rainy weekend, so I plan on getting quite a bit of scrapping done!

It's time for our first challenge of the month at Counterfeit Kit Challenge today. We want to know what your scrappy superpower is and use a selfie!

Scrappy superpower...hmmm...I don't really know what my scrappy superpower is...I don't really layer a ton on every layout...I only fussy cut when I have to...I do outline a lot on my layouts - just not this one...I do use sketches for almost every layout so I guess my superpower could be Sketch Queen, and I do like to keep things clean and simple, so maybe I am the Queen of Clean and Simple...I'll keep working on it, but in the meantime, here is my layout:

I could not wait to use these papers from my October Counterfeit Kit (you can see my kit here) and I knew they would be perfect for these photos of me and my youngest son from a couple of years ago. Everything on this layout is from my kit with the exception of the alphas, the puffy hearts, enamel dots. Those items are always close at hand and I rarely put them in my kits.

Shane and I spend a lot of time together and not only is he my selfie sidekick, but he is my sidekick in life. He is (almost) always up for anything and he never fusses - at least not too much - when I ask him to take a picture with me! I plan on adding a bit of journaling to my layout in the blue space below the photos, but I have to figure out what I want to say in that amount of space!

Here is the sketch from Sketch N Scrap that I used. It is from their 5th Birthday Bash (Sketch #5, May 30, 2017):

Here are a couple of close-ups of my embellishment clusters:

Head on over to Counterfeit Kit Challenge to see what kind of scrappy superpowers the rest of the design team has. We would love to see your selfies along with your superpowers.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a fantastic Friday!

Use Your Stuff Challenge #333 - Autumn/Halloween

Hello, everyone! Good Monday morning! I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was filled with lots of family fun - the kick-off to a busy few months, I guess you could say, and I am looking forward to it!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Use Your Stuff. This week we are challenging you to create an Autumn/Halloween themed project.

I have created a Halloween card this week:

I can't believe that this is the first Halloween card that I have made this year! I am getting a slow start, but I don't really plan to make too many.

I am trying to use up what little bit of Halloween papers that I have before I buy more and I must say, I don't have very much left. I think that next year I can look into buying a new collection or two.

I used all scraps from Doodlebug Design's - Boos and Brews - collection. I had that cute little Frankenstein left on the cut apart sheet, and I thought he needed to take center stage on my card.

I based my card off of the sketch from Challenge #1 at Sketch N Scrap's Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice online crop. Head on over and check it out!

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the Autumn/Halloween projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you have a chance to play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Sketch #1

Hello, everyone! We have made it to the weekend and what a weekend it is! Today is World Card Making Day and we are going to be celebrating it all month long at Sketch N Scrap

We are kicking off the celebration today with a new card sketch for you, and we will be bringing you a new card sketch every Saturday in October! Here is a look at the first sketch:

I loved this sketch that Lisa created the minute that I saw it and I know I will be using it again and again.

For my card, I pulled out a 6x6 paper pad that I have been hoarding - My Mind's Eye's Cut & Paste Adorbs. I just love the colors in this collection and that pretty floral paper is my favorite!

The sentiment is from an Art C stamp & cut stamp set. There is no name on the stamp package...but there are a lot of great sentiments in this set. I added some foam tape behind the sentiment, and the strip with the string, for some dimension.

The pretty pink flowers I picked up at Michael's in their $1 bin - or maybe it was a $2 bin - whatever the case, they were a great deal for the amount that I got!

Don't forget - our Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice Crop starts today - head on over to our events page and join in the fun. Here is the link to get there - https://www.facebook.com/events/2045140885706643/

Head on over to the blog to see today's sketch and the creations from the rest of the design team. We would love to see your take on the sketch, too!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style Sketch #111

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll on down.

The first Friday of the month means we have a new sketch for you at Sketches In Thyme PL Style. Shawn has created a fun sketch for our first sketch of the month:

And here is my card:

I changed things up a bit and used patterned paper circles in place of the photos and made a title card for Ada's 11-month photos. Yeah, I am still working on her first-year album!

Here are a couple of the photos that will go in the spread:

For my title card, I have used papers from an American Crafts 6x6 paper pad. I'm pretty sure it was a Valentine's Day paper pad, but the cover is long gone! The blues are a couple of scraps that I had in my scrap box. I also used my favorite puffy alphas and puffy hearts from Pink Fresh Studio. Those alphas are perfect for project life.

I have quite a few photos from this little photo shoot...I would like to keep it to two pages, but it may have to be more like 4! I had to get some of the photos reprinted in smaller sizes, and my photo order still hasn't come in yet, so I will hopefully remember to share the completed spread(s) once they come in.

These two photos are quite similar so I will more than likely substitute one with another photo when I get my order in.

Ada is so stinkin' cute in these photos and she was such a happy girl while we were taking the pictures. Of course, her Uncle Matt and Pops were behind me acting goofy to get her to smile!

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme PL Style to see how Shawn used the sketch, too. I would love to see your take on the sketch, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #131

Hello and Happy Friday!

It's time for our first card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. Heather has created a great sketch for us to work with - and it has my favorite element - banners - so I had to play along!

Here's the sketch:

And my card:

I recently picked up the Echo Park - Birthday Wishes (boy) - 6x6 paper pad at Tuesday Morning and I decided to make a birthday card using this sketch. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart - B1537 - Birthday Sprinkles.

I liked that the sketch had a torn edge to the paper and I made sure to do that with my card, as well. Another birthday card to go in my stash for when it's needed.

Tomorrow is the start of our Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice Crop over on our Facebook events page. Come on over and join the fun! You can find it here - https://www.facebook.com/events/2045140885706643/

Also, tomorrow we kick off our month-long celebration for World Card Making Day. Be sure to stop by the blog and see the first of four new sketches that we will be sharing this month.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see how the rest of the design team used Heather's sketch for today. I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a fabulous Friday!
