Yummy Birthday Treat - LM #230

Good morning! There is a new challenge up over at Lasting Memories! This week it is all about food selfies.

supplies used - Patterned Paper - Dear Lizzy - Neapolitan, flags - DCWV, Alphas - Doodlebug Designs - Love Letters & Teensy Type, Wood Veneers - Studio Calico.

I didn't have any actual food selfies, but I found this picture of my daughter on her 20th birthday and thought it was as close as I was going to get! She had requested homemade ice cream to go with her birthday cake and this photo is of her taking that first bite of yummy goodness.

I used the February 15 sketch from Sketches In Thyme for my layout. I love all of the layers on this sketch!

I also used the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection. Quite fitting for a layout about ice cream!

I am also linking this up over at Crash Your Stash. I am up to 32/50! I know it seems like I've left a lot of projects out, but they are all pocket style cards I've been making for some swaps. One day soon I will be sharing them.

Be sure to check out the Lasting Memories blog and see what the rest of the team has done with the challenge.  I hope you have time to join us this week. You have until the end of the month to enter any or all of the Food For Thought challenges.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Sleeping Beauty - Feeling Sketchy #115

Good afternoon! Well, I got my wish and we got about 6 inches of snow on Sunday and Monday. The boys are on snow day #3 today and there is freezing drizzle/rain forecast for tomorrow. Will they go or will they cancel, that is the question! Alright now, I've had my snow - winter can be done - bring on spring! If only it worked that way!

One good thing about having a snow day is that I am able to scrap more. The one bad thing about having a snow day is that I don't get to see my favorite little girlie! It's been almost a week and I am missing her!

I have a layout to share today based on this sketch from Feeling Sketchy.

Their card sketches always translate so well into layout sketches. I just turned this sketch on it's side and went from there. Here is my layout:

Supplies used - Patterned Papers - My Mind's Eye - Now and Then collection, Mildred and Dorothy, Gold Embossed Paper - Michael's, Stamps - Love this - KaiserCraft Shine bright, words - Simple Stories DIY, Alphas - E K Success.

I absolutely love the colors in these papers. The pink with the navy and light green are so pretty and perfect for this sweet photo of Miss Ada taking a nap. Those little chubby cheeks are just so kissable!

I thought that I was in trouble when I hunted up stickers for my title. I knew I wanted to use these gold script stickers, but I only had 2 packs and there was only one lowercase "e" in each pack. I needed 3. So, the boys and I braved the nasty roads and went to town in search of another pack. And, they had none. What to do, what to do... When we go home I looked at the rest of the stickers to see if I could alter one and make it work. Luckily the capital "C" had a big curly q that looked just like an "e", so I cut it off, trimmed it down just a bit and you can't even tell at first glance that it wasn't an actual "e". Problem solved!

I am also linking this up over at Crash Your Stash. I am up to project #29 of my first 50 projects for 2015!

Be sure to check out this sketch at Feeling Sketchy. You have until the end of the month to play along.I may even try to get a card made using the sketch!

Thanks for stopping by today. I will be back soon!

Use Your Stuff Challenge #173 - Circles

Happy Monday, everyone! As I sit typing this we are waiting to see if we get our first real snow of the season. To date we have had nothing more than a dusting and secretly I would kind of like to see a little more than that. The forecast is all over the place, but for our area they are saying 5-7 inches. We shall see...

I am back today with the new challenge over at Use Your Stuff.  It's Karrie's week to host the challenge and this week's challenge is to use circles on your project.

I love to add circles to my projects, so it was hard for me to decide if I wanted to make a layout or a card. Since I had some scraps left over from this layout and since I have several birthdays coming up, I decided to go with a card.

I based this card on this sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

I'm not sure if it will qualify for their challenge, since I didn't do any stamping on it and stamping is their name,  but I wanted to give them credit for giving me a starting point to my card.

I'm also linking this up over at Crash Your Stash to help me keep track of my 50 projects. (28/50)

Head on over to Use Your Stuff and see how the rest of the design team have used circles in their projects. I hope you find some time to play along this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

LM #229 - Made With Love

Good Sunday morning! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. We are in the middle of a 4 day weekend - and enjoying every minute of it!

There is a fun new challenge up today at Lasting Memories - my favorite - a sketch challenge! The theme for this month is Food For Thought, so your layout needs to be food related.

Here is the sketch:

and here is my layout based on the sketch:

supplies used - Patterned Paper - Carta Bella - It's a Celebration, alpha die - Lawn Fawn - Cole's ABC's.

I've flipped the sketch to make it work better with my photos.

This layout is of my husband making my birthday cake this past year. The journaling says, "Since Abby has moved out of the house Scott has taken over the responsibility of baking my birthday cake. He has always been a good cook, so it's no surprise that he can bake a darn good cake, too!"

I know it's hard to see in the photo of the cake, but he made a big "44" in the middle of the icing. He didn't have to get that "fancy" with his decorating!

I'm also linking this up over at Crash Your Stash to help me keep track of my 2015 Project 50. (27/50)

Now head on over to the Lasting Memories blog and see how the rest of the design team has used the sketch. I'm sure you'll be inspired to play along!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Use Your Stuff #172 - Love Theme

Good Monday morning! We have had some beautiful, warm, and sunny days lately, and it's really giving me spring fever! It's always nice to have 60's and sunshine in February!

I am back today with the new challenge from Use Your Stuff.  Majo's challenge for this week is a Love theme. It does not have to be a romantic love - it can be the love for a pet, a favorite food, or a love for crafting.

For my project I have made a Valentine's Day card.

I used Crate Paper's Love Notes collection and this card sketch from PageMaps that I found on Pinterest.

I don't make square cards very often and I don't know why - I love the way they look!

Head on over to the Use Your Stuff blog and check out what the rest of the team has created for you. I hope you play along with Majos Love challenge - you have until Sunday, February 15 to get your project linked up.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon!

Valentine's Day Card #2 with Stick It Down

Happy Tuesday! I am back today with another Valentine's Day card using only cardstock and my favorite color combo.

I used the February sketch from Stick It Down. I love that they post all of their sketches on the first of the month and that you have all month to play along. I have also been seeing a lot about inlaid die cuts and thought this sketch would be perfect to try that out as well.

All in all it was a quick and easy card and I love the way it turned out!

I will be linking this up to Crash Your Stash. This is project 23/50!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon!

Use Your Stuff #171 - You Are My Sunshine

Good Monday morning! I am so excited to share with you my first project for Use Your Stuff today! This is a talented group of ladies and I am so honored to be working with them.

Challenge #171 is to be inspired by a song. The first song that came to mind was "You are my sunshine" and I went with it. Little Miss Ada definitely brings a lot of sunshine to our lives!

I did something on this layout that I rarely do. I did not use a sketch and I'm happy with how it turned out! Almost every layout I do is based off of a sketch.

I used October Afternoon's Farmhouse collection that has been in my stash for ages, and the flair from Lawn Fawn is about a year old, too, and that gold thread - I've had it since my cross stitching days - over 5 years I'm sure.

I hid what little bit of journaling I had on a tag behind the photo.

I am also linking this up over at Crash Your Stash. (This is #22/50!)

Be sure to head on over to Use Your Stuff and see what songs have inspired the design team. There is a lot of inspiration over there! I hope you have time to play along with the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by - I will be back soon to share some more projects with you!

LM #227 - Sweet Goodness

Good Super Bowl Sunday morning! We don't have a favorite team playing, but we do have local boy Justin Britt playing for the Seahawks, so we will be rooting for them - and of course watching the commercials!

I can't believe it's  already February 1st! With it being a new month - that means a new theme and new challenge for you from Lasting Memories. The theme for February is "Food For Thought" and our first challenge is "Favorite Recipe or Food".

Supplies used - Patterned Papers - Colorbok - Hopscotch collection, Alphas - Doodlebug Designs - Love Letters, Sticker - E K Success, Arrow brads - The Paper Studio, heart punch.

I will admit - I am not much of a foodie. I just don't take pictures of food - I'm usually too busy eating it! By the time I remember or think to take a picture, the food is gone! Add to that fact that my oldest son is always appalled when I pull out my camera in public...maybe I need to get with the times and get a smart phone...

So, as much as I hated to do it(wink, wink), I made a trip to the local bakery for my most favorite sweet treats - white tops and cream horns! Wehner's Bakery has been in town for over 50 years and they never disappoint. I have had other cream horns and they don't come anywhere close to the ones I get at Wehner's. They are divine!

I based this layout on this sketch from Pagemaps.

Be sure to stop by Lasting Memories and see what the rest of the design team has made with their favorite recipe/food. I hope you find the time to play along as well. You have all month to get your layout in for the challenge.

I am also linking this up to Crash Your Stash. I haven't done very well with keeping track of my 50 projects over there. This is actually project 21/50!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!
