Just Having Fun - Sketch N Scrap Sketch #332

 Hello, hello! Happy Thursday to you! I hope you are having a good week and are ready for the long holiday weekend coming up. 

Today I am sharing my take on the September 1st sketch at Sketch N Scrap. Here's a look at the sketch:

Guys! Remember these tags that I posted in my Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash kit for this month?

I used all four of the Simple Stories tags on this layout! I cannot even tell you how ecstatic I am to get those out of my stash and onto a layout! They have been hanging around in my bashket for years now, and I finally used them.

These photos are of my granddaughter and me testing out the camera on her new phone. I love that she wants to take fun, silly photos with her Nana, and we had so much fun doing it!

Everything on this layout is at least a few years old. The green flowered paper is from Jillibean Soup, the yellow dot and red dot were in my scraps bin, and the rest are all from different Simple Stories collections. The chipboard camera - I can't even remember how long I've had it floating around in my supplies, and I got a couple of clear stickers from an old Simple Stories collection on there, too. It feels so good to use my older supplies instead of grabbing things I just bought.

I actually got my little bit of journaling added to my layout! I am terrible at journaling at the time the layout is made. From here on out, I need to try to get it done instead of putting it off until "later."

I put my metal dies to use cutting out the title for my layout. Another supply that's not been used in a while!

I had so much fun doing a stash dive for this layout. That is something I need to do a little more often!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash September Kit Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday and Happy September 1st! It may be the first day of meteorological fall, but summer is still holding on tight! Our temps this week are forecast to be right around 100 all week long. Ugh! I love summer, but I am ready for some cooler temperatures! 

I have a new Lisa and Lori's Great Stash Bash Challenge for you today! I must admit that I have been struggling with my kits recently. Struggling with scrapping my own photos. I am finishing up the (what I hope will be) last album for a friend, and while I am doing fine scrapping her photos, it's not leaving much time or motivation to work on my own stuff. I am hoping that all that will change this month.

Let's get on with the challenge. If you don't know what this challenge is all about, here's how it works: On the 1st of each month, we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month, we will use as much of our stash kit as possible on different projects. This will be a just-for-fun challenge, so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? We hope you will join us in our quest to bash our stash! If you play along, link up on either my blog or Lisa's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month.

Here are the requirements for our September kit:

To create your kit, pull 3-5 patterned papers (any size - 12x12, 6x8, 6x6, etc.), 2-3 embellishments, 2-3 cardstock sheets, alphas (stamps, stickers, etc.), and our focus item for our stash bash for September is tags.

Here is my kit for September:

I decided to keep my kit on the smaller side this month. I have a box full of papers that are from past kits that I've never put away, papers from older kits from The ScrapRoom, and papers I pulled for layouts that didn't get used, etc., so I pulled my papers from there. 

Here is a look at the papers and cardstock:

All of these papers are from Carta Bella's Summer Market collection and were from an old kit from The ScrapRoom and a free layout kit from Scrapbook Generation.

Here are the embellishments and alphas:

Since the only embellishment I had that went with the papers is the 12x12 sticker sheet, I dug into my bashket that has been hanging around forever! I love to do this from time to time. It helps me to use things that have long been forgotten. I have sticker sheets from Simple Stories and My Mind's Eye, random ephemera, chipboard, cork pieces, wood veneer, and enamel shapes and dots. This should be plenty to embellish a few layouts!

Our focus item this month is tags, and I kept it minimal to see if I can be successful in using them!

Only one of these tags really matches my kit, so surely I can at least use that one! The other four tags are from Simple Stories and have been in my bashket for so long! I have an idea for those, now if I can just make it happen.

That's it for my kit this month. I'm always so excited about the possibilities that come with a new kit. Here's to using it up this month!
