LM #227 - Sweet Goodness

Good Super Bowl Sunday morning! We don't have a favorite team playing, but we do have local boy Justin Britt playing for the Seahawks, so we will be rooting for them - and of course watching the commercials!

I can't believe it's  already February 1st! With it being a new month - that means a new theme and new challenge for you from Lasting Memories. The theme for February is "Food For Thought" and our first challenge is "Favorite Recipe or Food".

Supplies used - Patterned Papers - Colorbok - Hopscotch collection, Alphas - Doodlebug Designs - Love Letters, Sticker - E K Success, Arrow brads - The Paper Studio, heart punch.
I will admit - I am not much of a foodie. I just don't take pictures of food - I'm usually too busy eating it! By the time I remember or think to take a picture, the food is gone! Add to that fact that my oldest son is always appalled when I pull out my camera in public...maybe I need to get with the times and get a smart phone...

So, as much as I hated to do it(wink, wink), I made a trip to the local bakery for my most favorite sweet treats - white tops and cream horns! Wehner's Bakery has been in town for over 50 years and they never disappoint. I have had other cream horns and they don't come anywhere close to the ones I get at Wehner's. They are divine!

I based this layout on this sketch from Pagemaps.

Be sure to stop by Lasting Memories and see what the rest of the design team has made with their favorite recipe/food. I hope you find the time to play along as well. You have all month to get your layout in for the challenge.

I am also linking this up to Crash Your Stash. I haven't done very well with keeping track of my 50 projects over there. This is actually project 21/50!

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

  1. What a fun page! Love how you used the sketch - the papers are scrumptious!! Love what you said about taking pics of food! And those bakery items look yummy!!!

  2. What a fantastic take on the sketch!! Loving your page!

  3. Oh, my! I can see where this could ruin my plans for weight loss! I'm with you on the cream horns - yum - and can also relate to not ever getting around to photographing food because if it's something I love, it disappears too fast to get a picture!
Your page is definitely sweet! I love the arrows and all the matting and circles are really wonderful! Thanks for sharing!

  4. oooh, that looks fabulous! I live cream horns and yes, good ones are hard to find! Beautiful layout and I love your layered circles!

  5. This layout is just so pretty, pink and blue with sweet things, yum! I have no idea what a cream horn is, but they sure look good!

  6. I too don't think to take pics of food etc. That bakery looks yummy and you did a great job on the layout. Love the arrow paper and your take on the sketch.

  7. yum! Awesome layout! Love all the circles on your layout.

  8. Wow love the take on the sketch :) The food isn't looking to bad neither :)
