Make It Monday #62 @ The Memory Nest

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you! It's the start of a brand new week and it's going to be a hot one! It seems summertime has officially arrived!

It's going to be a busy day around the old blog today, so let's get started.

Today is Make It Monday over at The Memory Nest, and there is a great new sketch, courtesy of Katie, for us to work with.

I tweaked the sketch just a bit to work with the photo I chose. I flipped the sketch and made everything a bit bigger to accommodate my larger photo of Shane from the summer of 2007. He seemed to live in the pool! He wanted to go out first thing in the morning and we would have to make him come in at night. I mean, the date on the back of the photo says 3/13/2007, and we never got the pool up and going until at least Memorial Day. Look how tan he is in just a couple of weeks - sun kissed for sure!

I used up a few more scraps from Echo Park's Splash collection. I am down to just a few full sheets, and to be honest, a couple of those I don't even know if I will ever use. It feels good to have another collection almost used up instead of "hoarding" it!

Be sure to stop by The Memory Nest to see the layouts from the rest of the design team.Lots of inspiration to be shared!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

  2. Great job on that sketch - I think it is a tricky one to use. You've made it shine with that fab photo and your other choices.

  3. You tweaked yours too; sometimes you just gotta! I don't work well on a "small scale"... great layout!

  5. Bravo again, Lori! This is a beautiful, clean LO. I am starting to think I'd recognize your SB style anywhere. I just love it. That mix of pps is FAB and just hollers "SUMMER!" Noah would "live in the pool" too. He just loves to float on his big ball and watch the world go by. I am wondering if Noah and Shane are similar in age? Shane 'looks' a lot like Noah did in 2007... Shane has beautiful eyes, BTW! What a photo! Super job making that cool sketch work so well. Have saved it- it's a keeper!
