Hello, hello! Happy Thursday and Happy October 1st! I can't believe it is already October! It still feels like the middle of summer around here. The high temperature on the day I am writing up this post is forecast to be 90 again. Ugh! I am ready for those cooler fall temps for sure! The forecast for next week is supposed to be a little more like fall, and I am keeping my fingers crossed.
It's time for another Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Challenge! If you don't know what this challenge is all about, here's how it works: On the 1st of each month, we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created using that prompt. During the month, we will use as much of our stash kit as possible on different projects. This will be a just-for-fun challenge, so there is no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? We hope you will join us in our quest to bash our stash! If you play along, link up on either my blog or Lisa's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month.
Here is the recipe for this month's kit:
To create your kit, pull 3-5 patterned papers (any size - 12x12, 6x8, 6x6, etc.), 2-3 embellishments, 2-3 cardstock sheets, alphas (stamps, stickers, etc.), and our focus item for our stash bash for October is ephemera.
Here is my kit for October:
I am trying to pull in all the fall feels, so I went with a fall-themed kit. I will be using the Simple Stories Cider & Donuts collection for my kit. I simply could not decide on only 3-5 papers, and in my defense, it's going to be a busy month at Sketch N Scrap with WCMD coming up, so it will be good to have a bigger kit to play with!
Here are the papers:
These are the papers I see myself using, but the backsides of each of these are so pretty, I may have to use them, too.
Here are the backsides to the above papers:
Oooh! They're so pretty, too! I may have a hard time deciding which paper to use!
I kept the cut-aparts separate since they can be used in so many ways - in my Project Life album, images fussy cut for embellishments, etc. Here they are all together:
Here are the "b" sides of the cut-aparts:
Here are the cardstock papers I have pulled:
I used the "thankful" patterned paper to pull the colors of cardstock. It has all of the colors on it from the collection, and I tried to match each color as best I could. I didn't have a yellow that was a good match, so I left that one out for the time being, and I pulled a piece of kraft cardstock instead of brown, but I love these colors together.
Here are my embellishments:
I have the sticker sheet, foam stickers, and sentiment bits from the collection, alpha stickers, word/phrase stickers, wood veneer, and enamel dots.
Our focus item for October is ephemera, and I pulled lots!
I have the sentiment bits down the center of the photo, ephemera from Carta Bella's Harvest collection, are on the left, and they are a really good match to the colors, and an assortment of ephemera from old Simple Stories and Echo Park collections on the right. That should be plenty to play with, and I hope to put a dent in it this month!
Phew! That is it! If you've hung in there this long, thank you! I am looking forward to seeing what I get made this month.
Be sure to head over to Lisa's blog - My Creative Endeavors - to see the fun kit she has put together. Remember, this is a just-for-fun challenge, but if you do play along and put together your own stash bash kit, add it to the linky below, and we will be sure to check it out and cheer you on!
Here are the rules:
1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit and link it below.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
