Hello, hello! Good Thursday morning to you. I hope you all had a good Christmas. Since we have been on Christmas break, I am having a hard time keeping up with what day of the week it is!
I do know that today is my day to be featured over at Scrap Our Stash with my take on the December Blend - A - Sketch challenge. Along with blending the two sketches, we have an additional challenge to use 3 or more of the same kind of embellishment. Here's a look at the sketches:
For my layout, I used the 2 square photos and title placement from the first sketch. From the second sketch, I used the photo placement, layers behind the photos, circles, and the journaling placement. For the added challenge of using 3 or more of the same embellishment, I have used 3 die cut hearts, 3 puffy hearts, and three stamped word phrases.
Here are a couple of close-ups of my title and embellishment clusters:
I did some splatters across my layout. I'm not a fan of the spray mist that I used, but looking at it now it doesn't look so bad!
These photos are of Miss Ada sneaking a taste of some chocolate chip cookie dough on the 4th of July. She loves to help me bake cookies and the dough was just looking too tempting!
I didn't really mean to make a red, white, and blue layout...I guess I was just thinking about it being on the 4th of July when I was picking out the papers. I used some old papers from my stash - My Mind's Eye - Confetti - collection from 2007. I love this collection and it was hard to cut into the papers, but I am so glad that I did! I love the way this layout turned out!

Sweet Treat - Scrap Our Stash Blend A Sketch
Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Tuesday Morning Sketches reveal, please scroll on down.
Today is my day to be featured over at Scrap Our Stash with my take on this month's Blend - A - Sketch Challenge. Here are the two sketches that we are to blend this month and we also have the added challenge to use pennants/banners to our layout.
Here are a couple of close-ups of the embellishments. I thought the Elle's Studio stamp that says - Life is made up of special moments like this - was perfect for these photos.

I think that these two sketches have a lot of similarities so it was pretty easy to blend them together. Here is what I came up with:
From the first sketch, I used the paper strips and photo mat and from the second sketch, I used the photo placement and a tag for my journaling.
I have used an older paper collection from Close To My Heart - Sugar Rush - for my layout. The colors and the paper with the sweet treats were perfect for these photos of Ada. I had quite a bit to say about these photos, so I added my journaling to a tag and stuck it behind the left photo. You can't tell it in the photos too well, but the tag is very light soft pink.
The story behind these photos - Ada came in one day towards the end of summer and told me she would sure like to get a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ice cream from the ice cream truck but her Mommy never had any dollars!
So, I sent her home with $10 - more than enough for a TMNT ice cream and maybe another little something when they went to the store. As luck would have it, the ice cream truck didn't come around that weekend, but Abby and Shawn took Ada to Wendy's so she could get a Frosty. She was such a big girl going up and ordering all on her own and paying for it with her own money - it was only 50 cents so she still had lots of money left over, too! And Ada was still able to get her TMNT ice cream when the ice cream truck came by on Labor Day weekend. Here are a couple of close-ups of the embellishments. I thought the Elle's Studio stamp that says - Life is made up of special moments like this - was perfect for these photos.

Her Superpower Is...Scrap Our Stash Blend a Sketch
Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope you're having a good weekend!
Today is my day to be featured at Scrap Our Stash with my take on the October Blend A Sketch Challenge. Not only are we to blend the two sketches below, but we also need to use diagonal patterned paper on our layouts. Here is a look at this month's sketches:
I have used Simple Stories' - Dream Big - collection for my layout and since Ada's shirt has a cute little unicorn on it, I thought it was the perfect time to use one of the unicorn puffy stickers in the collection.
Be sure to check out Scrap Our Stash as we have design team inspiration every single day of the week! I would love to see your take on this fun challenge!

This is always one of my favorite challenges to work with. I really loved both of these sketches and could see myself using each one individually, but it's always fun to blend them together to see what I can come up with.
Here is a look at my layout:
For my layout, I took the big circle element behind the photos and the big banner from the second sketch and the photo mats, tab, and circle elements from the first sketch to create my layout. My diagonal paper is part of my photo mats.
I added two thin paper strips at the top and the bottom of my layout to help "hold it all together" if that makes sense!

A Work Of Heart - Scrap Our Stash Blend - A - Sketch
Hello and Happy Thursday! I hope you are having a good week!
Today is my day to share my take on the September Build a Sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. Here is a look at the sketches we are to blend - and along with blending the sketches we are to use buttons or flair on our layout:
Today is my day to share my take on the September Build a Sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. Here is a look at the sketches we are to blend - and along with blending the sketches we are to use buttons or flair on our layout:
Here is what I came up with:
For my layout, I used the background and photo placement of the sketch on the left and the title and embellishment placement from the sketch on the right. Can you spot my buttons?
I finally got a chance to work with the Simple Stories - Dream Big - collection! I knew when I first saw this collection that I "needed" it for photos of Ada! Every single piece of this collection fits her so well!
About this layout - I had forgotten to pick up wrapping paper for Scott's birthday and even though I had some paper, I did not have enough to wrap all of his presents. Abby and Ada were down for the occasion so I asked Ada if she wanted to make Pops' wrapping paper. We grabbed a couple of brown paper bags and she went to work drawing him a work of art - or work of heart - as I have the layout titled. Of course, Pops loved the wrapping paper and he was very careful not to rip it when he opened his presents so he could save it.
Here is a look at one of the clusters - and there are 3 of my buttons! I added some old Making Memories flower buttons that I have had for a good 12 - 14 years!
I backed the layout with a thin border of black cardstock and added a strip across the middle where the papers meet. I thought I needed to bring in a bit more black, so I added some black letter stickers to my title and then punched a few black circles to scatter around my clusters.
Here is a look at the top cluster - and 2 more flower buttons! I wish I could say that I about used those flower buttons up, but I still have several in other colors to use! Maybe one of these days...
I do plan on adding my some journaling - either directly below the photo/title block or on a tag to be added in the upper cluster.
Head on over to Scrap Our Stash for design team inspiration every day of the week! We would love to see your take on the challenge, too!
