Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge

Hello everyone! Happy Wednesday to you! We have made it to the middle of the week and the weekend will be here before we know it!

We are changing things up at Paper Play Sketches starting this month. We will now be alternating between sketch challenges and color challenges, and this week is our very first color challenge.

Just a little note - the colors do not have to be an exact match, you can use other colors as well, but we must be able to see these colors in your creation.

Here are the colors that Amy has chosen for us this week:

When I first saw this color combo I immediately of these old My Mind's Eye papers that have been in my stash for ages. (The copyright says 2005, so I've hung on to these for a while!)

The sentiment is a die cut using a Sizzix die set by Stephanie Bernard. A nice bright birthday card ready to be mailed out to someone!

My card is based off of this older Paper Play Sketches sketch from February 2017.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #202

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #202 is posted over on the blog, and I am here to share my take on the sketch with you. Here's a look at the sketch:

For my card I have used Fancy Pants' "Happy Place" 6x6 paper pad, and the sentiment is a stamp from Art C.

I just purchased the Stamp Perfect stamp positioning tool by Hampton Arts, and I already love it! I've been wanting a Misti for a while, but have just never gotten around to getting one. I just happened to be at Micheals during their 40% paper crafting sale and found the Stamp Perfect. What better way to try out one of these tools than when you get it for $15! I know it will be a tool that will get a ton of use!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #312

Hello everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope your week is off to a good start. We are trying to get into a new daily routine around here - which is always fun when you have a kiddo with autism - but this new routine is going to be better for him, and I am sure we'll all be used to it in no time at all.

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday has a new sketch posted today. Today's sketch is courtesy of Vicki, and the optional challenge is "angles".

I have used Echo Park's "Just Be You" 6x6 paper pad for this card, and the sentiment is from the sticker sheet. This was a very quick and easy card to make, and I kinda like the simplicity of it!

Make It Monday #83

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you! Are you ready for the new week?

Well, today is Make It Monday over at The Memory Nest, and that always makes Mondays better! Leslie has created an awesome two photo sketch for this week!

I have used Doodlebug's "Puppy Love" papers for this layout. How fitting for these photos of my son in law with his new pup! I added in some lines for a little bit of journaling, once I get the details from Shawn! (These photos are from 2011, so it's been a while for me!)

In our 100 Pattern Paper Challenge Facebook Group we have been challenged to use up some metal in March. I did not realize how much metal I still have in my stash! While going through it all I found these metal photo corners and decided to use them on this layout.

Lasting Memories #334

Lasting Memories has a new challenge posted for you today! DT member Sandy is providing our challenges in March! Our theme for March is "Birthday". We realize that not everyone may have a lot of birthday photos to scrap, so our challenge this week is to add a banner to your layout - with the option to make a birthday layout.

I do have quite a few birthday photos to still scrap, so my layout today is a birthday layout! I've fussy cut a few banner pieces to add at the top of my layout. The background looks a little dull, but it's not a true white, it is more of a light grey. 

These are photos from Shane's 16th birthday. Since he is not a cake fan, he got chocolate donuts and chocolate chip cookies for his dessert!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #93

Hello everyone! I hope that you are having a good weekend! As usual mine seems to be flying right on by!

Sketch N Scrap has their first card sketch of the month posted today, and Heather has created a fantastic sketch for us to work with!

For this card I have used all scraps from my scrap box. The two orange papers, the yellow, and the blue were all laying on the top of the pile, and I thought they would make a fun birthday card. The sentiment is from an old Studio G $1 bin stamp set. I decided to mat all of the papers in black to help them to stand out a bit more.

This is such a fun sketch with a lot of possibilities. Why don't you give it a try?!

PDE LInky Party Ch #162 - Anything Goes

Hello everyone! Happy Friday to you! I hope that you have all had a good week and are ready for the weekend!

We have a new challenge for you today at PDE Linky Party. Since it is the first Friday of the month our challenge is:

Ch # 162 - Anything Goes

I have made a card for this challenge!

I picked up the Jen Hadfield "Best Of" paper pad at Hobby Lobby and couldn't wait to use it on something! The sentiment is cut out of one of the cut apart papers and I added a puffy heart to it. I kept it pretty clean and simple - and flat - for easier mailing!

Paper Play Sketches has a new sketch today. We will be changing things up starting this month. We will be alternating between sketches and color challenges each week. Here is the sketch for this week:

I used Simple Stories "Carpe Diem" collection for this card, with the exception of the teal background paper, it is from Crate Paper's "Confetti" collection. The balloon die cut was from the Simple Stories ephemera pack, and I just typed out the "Happy Birthday" sentiment on a piece of vellum and attached that with a couple of staples.

This sketch is one of those that can be used again and again!

Love To Craft Challenge Blog Ch #8

Hello and welcome back to my blog. This is my second post of the day, so if you're looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Love To Craft Challenge Blog has a new challenge posted today. Our challenges are always "Anything Goes", and your project can be absolutely anything crafty, so there's no excuse to not play along!

For my project today I have created a quick and easy card for you.

I  have used Simple Stories "Life In  Color" 6x6 paper pad. The sentiment/focal point of this card is cut from one of the cut apart papers in the pad. I then matted it on the yellow stripe, and then again on black to help it stand out.

I kept this card flat as it will be going out in the mail to a dear friend soon!

Sketch N Scrap #124

Hello, and happy first day of March! March usually means that we are counting down the days to the first day of spring after a long, cold winter, but this winter has been so mild here in the middle of the US, it seems like we just skipped winter and went from fall to spring!

The first day of March means we have a new sketch for you today at Sketch N Scrap! Lisa has created a great multi photo sketch that can easily be turned into a double page layout for even more photos.

Here's a look at the sketch:

I turned my layout into a double page spread. It was a great way to get a bunch of photos, like these of Ada from her 8 month photo shoot, on one layout. I've scrapped a few of these photos from that day, but not a bunch all together.

Here's a closer look at each page:

I used Pink Paislee's "Happy Place" paper for the yellow, the green ombre, and the green stripe. The blue and white is a scrap that I had in my stash.

I left the upper left corner of the left page empty so I can add in a list of all the things that Ada was doing at 8 months, but I need to get a refresher from her Mommy for that!

Not only is this sketch great for a lot of photos, but it could easily be used with just a few photos as well.
