Sketch N Scrap WCMD Sketch #5

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope you are having a good weekend. We've had a couple ofrainy, cold, dreary days but they are promising that today and tomorrow and going to be sunny and beautiful...I sure hope that they are right!

It is time for the last card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. We have been celebrating WCMD all month with a new card sketch every Saturday. Here is the fifth and final sketch that Sketch Artist Lisa created for us:

This is what I came up with:

I have a very special friend whose birthday is on Halloween and I decided to make her a Halloween themed birthday card this year. I used Echo Park's Halloween Magic collection for this card. I thought the little witch girl with the balloons sticker would be perfect for my card. For the sentiment I did a play on words and used 'Best Witches' instead of 'Best Wishes'. I really like how this card turned out!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see how the rest of the design team took on this sketch. I would love to see your take on the sketch, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap #235 - Spoiled Little Puppy

Hello, everyone! Happy Friday to you! We have made it to the weekend and I am getting ready to go pick up Miss Ada for a sleepover. She has the day off from school today and we thought it was about time for another sleepover.

Today I am sharing the layout I created using the October 15th sketch from Sketch N Scrap. I always love a fun sketch with big blocks of paper and a row of photos! Here is the sketch from Sketch Artist Heather:

And this is what I came up with:

These photos are of Ada's spoiled little puppy - Winnie. I think it is safe to say that this little puppy does not want for a thing! We couldn't believe it when we went for a visit and saw that she has Rae Dunn Halloween water and food bowls for the holiday, and this fancy little doggie bed filled with toys! When Abby sent me this photo of Winnie curled up in her bed with all of her toys, I knew I had to get it scrapped!

I used Bella Blvd's ' Cooper' collection that I had included in my October Stash Bash Kit. I wanted to keep to the orange/brown/cream colors but that pop of red in the puppy sticker at the top was just perfect for a little added pop of color.

Here are a few close-ups:

I fussy cut the bone from the background paper and die cut the letters for my title. To help them stand out, I inked the edges of each letter with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain distress ink.

I added a red enamel heart to each of the cluster areas to bring the touch of red around my layout.

Be sure to check out the Sketch N Scrap blog and the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page for more inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Sketch #4

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend.

Today I am up on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page sharing the card that I created using the WCMD Sketch #4 that was shared on the blog yesterday. Here is a look at the great sketch that Sketch Artist Lisa created:

And this is the card that I made:

For this card, I have used the fall papers that I had in my October stash bash kit. I fussy cut a few flowers and an acorn from one of the papers to make my cluster and I love how this turned out.

Here is a close-up:

I cannot wait to send this out to someone special!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see how the rest of the design team took on this sketch. I hope you have a chance to play along with us. We will have one more card sketch celebrating WCMD 2021 next Saturday so stay tuned!

TN Time With Lisa & Lori - October Challenge

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you! I hope that your week is off to a good start!

It is time for the October edition of TN Time With Lisa & Lori. We're a little bit late this time around - but better late than never! Here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my challenge for October:

This month I am challenging you to use orange on your layout and a label or tab.

Here is the sketch that Lisa has created for us:

And this is what I came up with:

I pulled out my 2018 Favorite Photos of  Ada TN to work in this month. I have so many traveler's notebooks that are "in progress" and I would really like to get a few of them finished up by the end of the year. This particular one would not take me long at all to finish up if I would just work on it!

Anyway, the photo is of Ada on Halloween of 2018. She had on this cute little outfit when Abby dropped her off that morning and I had to get a couple of pictures of her in it. I took a cue from the phrase on her shirt and used that for my title and went with ghosts for my embellishments.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I used one ghost sticker and then several ghosts that I die cut for my embellishments. To help the ghosts stand out from the white background I inked all of the edges with black soot distress ink. I also stamped some stars in black and in orange and die cut them out to sprinkle around my layout. I punched out several tiny black and orange stars to finish it all off with.

I love these little ghost die-cuts! They just make me smile every time that I cut them out!

Here is the right side of the spread:

I used a couple of papers from Echo Park's Halloween Magic collection. That ghost paper is so cute and I can't wait to use more of it.

Be sure to stop by Lisa's blog to see her beautiful layout for this challenge. I hope you have some time to play along with us. I would love to see what you create!

Even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

1. Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.
2. Create a new, not previously posted project.
3. You are welcome to combine with other challenges.
4. If you have a blog please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your post.
5. You can link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you show your project on Instagram, please make sure to use #TNtimewithLisaandLori
6. You can submit multiple projects but they must be posted to InLinkz or social media separately.
7. Most importantly have FUN!

Sketch N Scrap - World Card Making Day Sketch #3

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope that your weekend is off to a great start!

We are celebrating World Card Making Day all month long at Sketch N Scrap with a new card sketch every Saturday of the month. Today we are sharing WCMD Sketch #3, courtesy of Sketch Artist Lisa:

This is what I came up with:

I have included a few fall papers and scraps in my Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Kit for October and I was able to put them to use on this card. I didn't really have any embellishment that I wanted in the sticker sheets that I included, so I fussy cut a few flowers and a toadstool from one of the 12x12 papers and punched a few leafy branches to add around the flowers. I love how this little cluster turned out!

The sentiment is from Close To My Heart - S2007 - For My Beautiful Friend.

Here is a close-up of the cluster:

Since our focus item for Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash, this month is embossing folders, I made sure to use one of the folders that I included in my kit for my main panel.

I absolutely love how this card turned out!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the sketch and the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you have a chance to play along with us!

Sketch N Scrap #234

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I cannot believe that it has been almost two weeks since my last post! I have been scrapping - I just am not able to share with you until later in the month.

Today I am up on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page sharing the layout that I created for the October 1st sketch. Here is a look at the sketch, courtesy of Sketch Artist Stacy:

And this is what I came up with:

For this layout, I used Bella Blvd's You Are My Sunshine collection that I had included in my stash bash kit for this month. These papers are so bright and colorful and they just make me happy! I had taken these photos of Ada a couple of weeks ago when we went for a walk after supper. It was a tad bit cool so Abby told her to put on her jacket. Once she got it all zipped up and the hood pulled up - she stopped and said -in a somewhat monotone voice - "I look just like one of those high schoolers." One thing is for sure - she has the brooding teenager look down pat!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I added an extra embellishment cluster on the left side of the page. I really wanted to include that die cut that says - sunshine mixed with a little hurricane. That sums up Ada perfectly! Since I added my journaling down the side of the page I really didn't have room for it anywhere else.

I knew I wanted my title to be the phrase that Ada said on our walk. I decided to add my journaling around it - fitting the title in the middle of it. I wanted to add just a bit more color to the white background so I sponged on a bit of yellow ink. It's hard to see it in the pictures but I love the look.

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the sketch and more inspiration using this sketch. I hope you have a chance to play along!

Lisa and Lori's Great Stash Bash - October Edition

Hello, hello! Happy Friday and Happy October 1st! The days are definitely getting shorter and the nights a cooler...looks like fall is here again. I love my summertime but I am enjoying these beautiful - cooler - days.

It is time for the October Edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash. If you don't know what the Great Stash Bash is - it is a challenge that my good friend Lisa and I do every month. We pull items from our stash based on a "recipe" (which you will see below) in an effort to get our scrappy stash used up!

Here is this month's recipe:

Our "recipe" is to pull 10 patterned papers, 5-7 scraps, 3-4 embellishments, and our focus item for October is embossing folders.

I went a little bigger than normal with my kit this month and created 3 mini-kits. I just couldn't help myself! I made it a point to go through the photos on my phone first and make a list of layouts that I would like to get made this month and I finally had to make myself stop because the list was getting so long! Let's take a look at what I pulled:

Mini-kit #1:

This kit is filled with Bella Blvd goodies and I have four layouts planned for it - three Ada layouts and at least one Winnie layout.

Here is a look at the papers:

These papers just make me happy! I love the fun - bright - colors.

I totally forgot to take photos of my embellishments for each kit...they can be seen in each of the kit photos...

Here are the few scraps that I have for this kit:

Not a lot of scraps and I am hoping I will get them used!

Here is Mini-Kit #2:

This kit is filled with Paige Evans' Wonder collection and I have at least two layouts planned with it.

Here is a better look at the papers:

I plan on doing some fussy cutting of those flowers and maybe even the half circles - they look like they would make a great scalloped border.

I did not include any scraps...mostly because I got rid of the majority of my scraps earlier this year.

Once again - no embellishment photo...

Here is Mini-Kit #3:

/This kit has a few fall papers from a couple of different Echo Park collections. These have been in my stash for a few years and I would love to get them used up so maybe I could bring in something new!

Here's a look at the papers:

Since it is October, I felt like I needed to have at least a showing of fall papers in my kit! I do have one layout planned and maybe a layout for my traveler's notebook. I do plan to fussy cut a few of the flowers from the floral paper in the back.

I did have a one paper that had been cut down with these papers so I included it and what is left of some of my fall 6x6 paper pads:

I would love to make a dent in these 6x6 papers!

Since our focus item is embossing folders, I pulled out a few that I thought I would have the best chance of using this month:

I will be leaving these right by my desk so I remember to use them!

I also want to use some of my stamps and metal dies this month, so I went ahead and pulled what I would like to use so they will be out and ready to go.

Here are the stamps:

The dies:

I apologize for the glare - it was rainy and getting dark and I did not bother to take them all out of their packaging. You get the idea - alplhas, borders, hearts, labels, tabs, and some tiny flowers.

I also pulled a couple of sheets of alpha stickers, label stickers, and a brad pack that I thought I could use at least a couple of:

I have all of these "extras" in a container that will set by my desk - ready and waiting to be used:

I even made sure to make out a list of  the layouts that I want to make with each collection and put it with my mini-kits. I will be printing off photos today so I will have everything ready to go for the month:

Once again I am so excited to dive into this kit and get some layouts made! I'm glad it is the weekend and we have no plans!

Be sure to stop by Lisa's blog to see the fabulous kit that she has pulled together for this month. This is a just-for-fun challenge, but if you do play along and put together your own stash bash kit - add it to the linky below and we will be sure to check it out and cheer you on! Here are the rules:

1. Follow the challenge prompt to create a kit to work with throughout the month. You may use other items, but please concentrate on using your kit.
2. Create new, not previously posted projects using your stash kit.
3. If you have a blog - please include the challenge graphic and a link to our challenge in your posts.
4. You may link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you share on Instagram, please make sure to use - #lisaandlorisgreatstashbash2021

I will be back in a few days with a wrap-up post for my September kit.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a fabulous day!
