TN Time With Lisa & Lori October Challenge

Happy Monday! It is a gorgeous fall day today and I am soaking up every bit of this warm weather that I can!

I can't believe that it is already time for the October challenge for TN Time With Lisa & Lori! It seems like it has been forever since I have worked on my traveler's notebooks and it was great to have a reason to get back to them.

Here is how our challenge works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my October Challenge:

Add a stamp to your traveler's notebook layout, bullet journal, or planner. It can be something as simple as a date stamp or something more - just as long as you use a stamp.

Here is Lisa's sketch:

This is what I came up with:

I took this photo of Ada just last week. Our maple trees are turning such a pretty red - which is quite surprising seeing as how it's been so dry lately - we weren't expecting to get good color this year. She was all for taking photos and I know from experience that I had better get photos with the pretty leaves when I can because they sure don't last long!

For this layout, I used my October Stash Bash kit. Everything - including the stamps that I used - came from my kit. I was able to use most of a full 12x12 paper and quite a few scraps on this layout. This layout is an out-of-pocket layout and is going into my 2022 traveler's notebook.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I stamped my title directly onto the background page. I always find that a little daunting to stamp directly onto my layout but I am glad that I did it. I really hope to use my stamps more, especially in my traveler's notebooks, and that means I need to get over my fear of stamping directly on my layout. The more I do it the more comfortable I'll be with it, right?!

I added a few die-cut leaves that were still on my desk from a previous project and a couple of ephemera pieces from my kit to finish out the cluster.

I fussy cut the squirrel - Ada's favorite animal at the moment - and punched out the "so stinkin' cute" pieces from one of the paper scraps. I found the "I love fall" piece in my ephemera pack, as well, and added it to the cluster.

I had to get creative with this bottom border. I originally had a piece of the same orange paper that is on the left page down for my border and I had even used glue on the ends to secure it. Then I took a good look at it and saw that it was crooked. Sometimes when this happens I will just leave it alone - especially since I had already used glue - but it was too crooked for me to ignore. And, of course, when I tried pulling it up it tore the background paper in a couple of places. I had already used all of that orange paper and I was not about to go searching for another scrap or full sheet to use. I found this orange border sticker on the sticker sheet and decided to just use it. You could still see a couple of torn places on the paper that the sticker did not cover so I added a stamped phrase and a couple more die-cut leaves to hide those spots and I am happy with how this turned out!

Head on over to Lisa's beautiful blog - My Creative Endeavors - to see her take on this month's challenge. We hope you have a chance to play along with us this month! I would love to see what you create!

TN Time With Lisa & Lori - September Challenge

Happy Saturday! I hope that you have had a good week and that your weekend is even better! I think the kids are all coming over tomorrow for the first full day of football - so it is sure to be a good day!

It is time for the September TN Time With Lisa & Lori challenge! This is hands down my favorite challenge right now. Anytime that I get to work in my traveler's notebooks - I am one happy girl!

Here is my September challenge:

Just add a tag somewhere on your traveler's notebook layout, bullet journal, or planner spread.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us to use for September:

And this is my layout:

I am back working in Ada's school TN. I would have liked to have been all caught up with this by the time school started a few weeks ago, but I still have at least one layout from each grade to do - and Abby was just asking me what size pictures I wanted because they are about to take school pictures! I'd better get busy on this!

I went all things girlie with this one - all the colors - all of the icons...it's a bit busy, but it is oh-so-Ada right now!  The icon paper on the left page reminded me so much of the shirt Ada has on in the photo. I fussy cut the "right now" piece from a 4x6 card and will fill it out later. I actually remembered to ask Ada what a few of her favorites were last year and I just need to find that paper and fill in the blanks.

Here are a few close-ups:

I love this little cluster of circular elements. The emoji is a sticker and the other two were punched out of one of the papers.

To satisfy my portion of the challenge - I added in a total of three tags. This TN is getting a little chunky but I may still go back and add some string to all of the tags to finish them off. I was hoping to get kindergarten through third grade in this TN but I may have to stop at second grade and start a new notebook for third grade. Another reason I need to get caught up! Here's hoping I can get a few more completed over the next couple of weeks!

Now, head on over to Lisa's beautiful blog - My Creative Endeavors - to see her take on this month's challenge. We hope you have a chance to play along with us this month!

TN Time With Lisa & Lori August Challenge

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you! I hope that your week is off to a good start!

It is time for TN Time With Lisa & Lori's August challenge! I love working in my TNs so you know this is one of my favorite challenges!

Here is my August challenge to you:

Just add a bit of polka dot paper to your layout!

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us to use:

And here is my layout:

I am still working on Ada's school traveler's notebook - trying to get all caught up before the new school year gets too far in.  She starts 3rd grade in a week and a half and if I could be all caught up by the time she gets her 3rd-grade school photo back - then I will be a happy camper!

I stayed pretty close to the sketch for this layout, only adding the phrase stickers to the top of the left page. I would have added those somewhere around the photo but since I created a flip-out to include another photo, I just couldn't make it work.

Here is a look at the flip-out:

I still need to add my journaling - it will probably repeat what is on the board she is holding with a few additional "favorites."

For this layout, I used Echo Park's - Play All Day - Girl - collection. I knew I wanted something with rainbows on it since her lunch box is a rainbow and the shirt she is wearing has rainbows on it. This collection had the perfect rainbow paper in it. I paired it with a pink polka dot paper from Simple Stories to satisfy my part of the challenge.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

These pink Jane Tile Alphabet stickers from Elle's Studio are a perfect match! For the circular element, I die cut a pinked circle out of blue paper and layered a white circle on top. I added a few floral stickers to finish it off.

I pulled out an old file folder tab metal die from Echo Park to make my tab. I don't use these dies very often and I don't know why - I always love the look of them.

I have skipped around quite a bit in this traveler's notebook. I still have eight layouts to do before I am completely caught up. When I printed these photos, I took the time to print off all of the photos that I need and rounded up the school (professional) photos so they are all ready to go when I get a chance to work on them. I already have two of the layouts planned out and papers pulled - I just need to work on them and get them done!

Now, head on over to Lisa's beautiful blog - My Creative Endeavors - to see her take on this month's challenge. We hope you have a chance to play along with us this month!

Anticipation - FarmQuest Challenge Blog Challenge #6

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope your weekend is off to a good start. We are supposed to have our hottest day of the summer (so far) today with the high reaching the upper 90s with the heat index being well over 100 degrees. Sounds like a good day to stay inside where it is nice and cool!

Today I am sharing the traveler's notebook I made for the FarmQuest Challenge Blog Challenge #6. The theme for this challenge is to use cherries or strawberries AND a container that is not a basket - so like a bowl or plate, jam/jelly jar, a pie plate, etc.

This is what I came up with:

To satisfy the challenge, I have fussy cut a few strawberries from a patterned paper and I have a photo of some strawberries growing in our garden. For something other than a basket - I fussy cut a scale filled with strawberries.

I used all scraps for this layout. I love it when I can do that instead of cutting into a full sheet of paper. I punched a lacy scalloped border and stamped my title along the edge of the paper. I used the Journals For Life - Alex alphabet stamp for my title and you will be seeing it a lot
more! These stamps stamp beautifully and are the perfect size to make a statement in my TN or they would be the perfect size for a title on a 12x12 layout, too.

I based my layout on this older sketch for TN Time With Lisa and Lori from September 2019:

Here are a few close-ups:

I wanted to bring a touch of pink to my layout and the backside of the green paper had the perfect pink on it. I punched a tab to hold my date and to bring a touch of pink to the left side of my layout.

I stamped a pink label to "hold" the fussy-cut strawberries for the right page. I am trying to not add much bulk to my layouts so I added some black dots and hand-drawn hearts to each of my cluster areas.

I added a pink banner across the top of the scale for a little something extra.

My journaling reads -  Our strawberry patch has almost doubled in size this spring. It is loaded with blooms and these itty bitty berries. I cannot wait until they are ripe and ready to be picked. There's nothing sweeter than a fresh-picked berry from the garden. Yum!

Have you had a chance to check out my friend Becca's challenge blog? The challenges are always fun and you can make just about anything - a card, a TN layout, a scrapbook layout, a tag, a bookmark - the list is long! But you better hurry - this challenge ends June 27th at 12:30 AM Central Time. Just go here - https://farmquestchallenge.blogspot.com/

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

TN Time With Lisa & Lori June Challenge

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! It's another hot one around here. It looks like summer arrived a bit early this year and I don't mind a bit! I could do with a little less humidity but I can't really change it, so I will just go with it It makes the pool a delight to jump into!

It is time for TN Time With Lisa & Lori's June challenge! We are running a little behind this month but sometimes life just gets in the way of our hobbies! And it's better late than never, right?!

Before I get to the challenge, I want to say a big thank you to Kim for playing along with our May challenge!

Now,if you are new here and you don't know what this challenge is all about - here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my June challenge:

Just a label or a tab to your layout.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us to use this month:

And this is what I came up with:

I am back to working on Ada's School TN. My goal is to get all caught up on it before she starts 3rd grade in the fall. It's definitely doable - I just need to keep on it!

This is her last day of kindergarten picture. Kindergarten was such a hard year for her. She had never been away from her Mom and Dad or me and Pops and it was definitely an adjustment for her. Most days started with tears but more often than not they ended with smiles. She loved the work that she had to do - it was just the separation that was hard for her. And then the Pandemic hit and they went to remote learning on March 17th. I felt like she was cheated out of so many of the fun experiences a kindergartner gets to have. No field trip to the zoo, no kindergarten graduation, but I am so glad that she was safe at home!

I used Echo Park's First Day of School for this layout - I just stayed away from anything that said "First Day!" Since Ada has on a light blue shirt in the photo I picked out some of the blue papers in the collection and then accented my layout with green and red.

Here is a better look at the left-side page:

I die cut my title from the Impression Obsession metal dies. I die cut a few heats to scatter about, as well. To satisfy my challenge to use a label or a die, I added a label and layered a sticker over the top of it.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

The journaling on the tag is mostly what I included above. It's kind of the condensed version of everything I had to say. I figure if I have too much more to say that I can always add it to the pocket behind the tag.

Here is a close-up of the right page:

I added a tab with the date above the photo. I feel like labels and tabs and TN layouts just go hand in hand!

Be sure to head on over to Lisa's beautiful blog - My Creative Endeavors - to see her take on this month's challenge.

Now, even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

1. Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.

TN Time With Lisa & Lori April Challenge

Hello, everyone! I am back with my second post of the day! Here I haven't posted anything new since the 1st and now you are getting two posts from me today!

It is time for the TN Time With Lisa & Lori April Challenge! We had to skip last month so it is good to get back on track! If you are new here and you don't know what it's all about - here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my challenge for April:

All you need to do is add a sticker - or stickers - to your spread. Easy peasy!

Here is the awesome sketch that Lisa has created for us to use:

And this is what I came up with:

I am back to working in my February 2022 TN - which I have changed to Ada's February 2022 TN - since I have enough photos of her from February to fill it up! I can always make another one of our family happenings, right?! I mean that is the fun of creating!

This photo is from our sleepover in February. We still had a little bit of ice and snow on the ground and Ada, Pops, and I had to get out and have a little fun in it! There were snowball fights, walking on the ice since the creek was still frozen over, and a bit of sledding down the creek bank. It's not a big hill and we didn't have a sled so we had to make do with a hillbilly sled, but Ada had so much fun that it didn't even matter. I snapped this photo of her, and guys, that smile is so genuine! She was loving every minute of it.

I did something a little different for this layout and used a spring/Easter line from Simple Stories (Bunnies & Blooms) for a snow layout. I took a cue from her outfit and used pink, purple, and light blue for my colors. When I saw the photo, my first thought was - what a cute little snow bunny - and that brought it all together.

To satisfy my challenge to use stickers on my spread, I used a bunny head sticker that I popped up on some low profile foam tape, lots of puffy stickers - mostly from Bunnies & Blooms, but I also used some snowflake puffy stickers from Feelin Frosty - and alpha stickers to spell out "snow bunny."

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I love those little blue alpha letters! I have the upper and lowercase alphabet metal dies from Impression Obsession and they are perfect for my TNs and Project Life albums. I also pulled out some stamps to add around my layout.

I think this little bunny puffy sticker is the cutest! I added some dots with a black marker instead of adding enamel dots around my spread.

Now, even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

1. Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.
2. Create a new, not previously posted project.
3. You are welcome to combine with other challenges.

TN Time With Lisa & Lori - February Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Valentine's Day to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and that you are ready for the new week.

It is time for the TN Time With Lisa & Lori February Challenge!

Here is my challenge for February:

It's an easy peasy one this month - just add a heart - or hearts - to your layout! This can be a heart embellishment or stamp or heart patterned paper.

Here is the fun sketch from Lisa:

And this is what I came up with:

For this spread, I used the Cocoa Vanilla papers and embellishments that I included in my February Stash Bash Kit. I am so happy that I finally got a few of these papers out of my stash and onto a layout or two this month. These are some of my favorites from the collection. When paired with my two favorite girls - well, I couldn't help but love how this spread turned out!

I have officially started my 52 Favorites of 2022 traveler's notebook and this is my favorite photo from Week 5! The girls were over for supper and we finally had a chance to watch Encanto with them. I snapped this photo of the two of them before Scott got home with the food - and I love it!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I used one of the die-cut pieces for my title. I have some pretty thin foam tape that I added to the back of it. I don't tend to use a lot of dimension in my traveler's notebook but I really wanted to pop this title piece up and I will just make sure to not overload this notebook!

The little banner piece is from the cut apart paper and I added a few punched hearts and a phrase sticker for this little cluster.

The die-cut flowers in this collection are so pretty and I wish I had a bunch more of them in my stash!

I am excited to work in my 52 Favorites of 2022 TN this year - and hopefully, keep up with it!

Even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

1. Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.
2. Create a new, not previously posted project.
3. You are welcome to combine with other challenges.

TN Time With Lisa & Lori December Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and that you are ready for this week heading into Christmas. We had a pretty quiet weekend but I'm pretty sure that will change as the week goes on seeing as how Ada wants to have a sleepover before Christmas. We introduced her to Yahtzee last Thursday and she loved it! I am sure we will be doing a lot of game playing - Uno, Sorry, and now Yahtzee - while she is here. Oh, yeah, and she wants to watch the movie Ron's Gone Wrong with us, too. Abby and Shawn took her to the theater to see it when it came out and loved it. She may have to spend a couple of nights with us to get it all done!

Anyway, it is time for December's TN Time With Lisa & Lori challenge! We're a little late this month - the holidays and life have kept us busy - but we are here with the challenge now and hopefully, we will get back on track in the new year!

Here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my challenge for December:

It's Anything Goes this month! Use whatever colors and embellishments you would like!

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created:

This is what I came up with for the challenge:

I am back to working on my 2018 Favorite Photos of Ada TN this month. This spread is one of two for November. I already had all of the papers and photos together in my November kit for Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash and this layout came together so quickly and I love how it turned out! I used Simple Stories' Freezin' Season for this snowy spread of Ada building her first snowman with Pops.

We just happened to get a good snowman building snow while she was here at our house. It was one of those super wet, super heavy snows and by the time she and Pops were done building her Ada-sized snowman - the hair that was sticking out of the bottom of her stocking cap was soaking wet! She was ready to head back inside and get warmed up!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I added a label from my stash for this cluster base and I love how it turned out. Since the snowman sticker that I used had some yellow in it, I added a yellow snowflake to this cluster to bring that color around my spread.

This phrase sticker could not have been more perfect!

I was afraid this snowglobe sticker might've been too big for my spread, but I really like it.

4. If you have a blog please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your post.
5. You can link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you show your project on Instagram, please make sure to use #TNtimewithLisaandLori
6. You can submit multiple projects but they must be posted to InLinkz or social media separately.
7. Most importantly have FUN!

Be sure to stop by Lisa's blog and check out her beautiful spread for this month's challenge. I hope you have some time to play along with us!
