Happy Halloween - Sketch N Scrap's WCMD Sketch #4

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope that your weekend is off to a good start! After a couple of really cold days this past week, we are having beautiful fall weather again.  We took advantage of it and took Ada to the zoo yesterday. She had the day off from school and we thought it was the perfect time for a trip to the zoo and a sleepover. We got to see so many animals that we normally don't see when it is hot out and we had such a good time. We even stopped by Hobby Lobby and Tuesday Morning for a little scrappy shopping. I am so happy to see that Tuesday Morning is getting more scrapbook supplies in now. 

Today I am sharing the card that I created for Sketch N Scrap's WCMD Sketch #4. Here is the sketch - made by me:

I have a little box of 6x6 papers that have been torn from paper pads that are about used up. I have dubbed them my use it or lose it papers and whatever is not used up by the end of the year then I am getting rid of them. Anyway, I went through that box and pulled out the black and white papers for this card. The orange paper is from my scraps. The jack-o-lantern, stars, and candy corn are from a sticker sheet that I found at Dollar General for a buck and they are quite puffy! I couldn't resist using them on this card.

This was another quick and easy card ad it has already been sent out to someone sweet!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Sketch #5

 Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope you are having a good weekend. We've had a couple ofrainy, cold, dreary days but they are promising that today and tomorrow and going to be sunny and beautiful...I sure hope that they are right! 

It is time for the last card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. We have been celebrating WCMD all month with a new card sketch every Saturday. Here is the fifth and final sketch that Sketch Artist Lisa created for us:

This is what I came up with:

I have a very special friend whose birthday is on Halloween and I decided to make her a Halloween themed birthday card this year. I used Echo Park's Halloween Magic collection for this card. I thought the little witch girl with the balloons sticker would be perfect for my card. For the sentiment I did a play on words and used 'Best Witches' instead of 'Best Wishes'. I really like how this card turned out!

The Paper Girls Challenge #210 - Getting Ready For Halloween

 Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I hope your weekend was a good one and that you are ready for the new week. 

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Girls Challenge blog today and we are teaming up with the gals at Double Trouble!

First up is our challenge - Karrie is challenging us to show how we are getting ready for Halloween. Are you making decorations, cards, candy apples, homemade costumes? Are you getting old photos scrapped? Decorating your planner? This challenge is wide open - just show what you've got going on for this spooky season!

Now, if you choose to play along with the gals at Double Trouble here is what you will need to do:

Thing 1: Trouble Maker

says, "We again have Bats in our Belfry. Don't be afraid... Come Bat... Let's hang out! All you have to do is use at least three (3) colors, from our rainbow of Fall Bat Colors, and create a project. This is an OPTIONAL TWIST but you will be awarded an additional chance in Double Trouble's random draw if you have excluded bats from your project.

I think I have managed to do all three challenges for my Halloween card! I like to make a few Halloween cards to send out so the timing of this challenge was perfect and was just what I needed to get started!

To satisfy the Double Trouble challenges - I used at least 3 of the colors from their rainbow of fall bat colors - orange, green, black, white, and the star paper has some purple stars on it, and I did not include any bats on my project - just cute little jack-o-lanterns!

I used Echo Park's - I Love Halloween - 6x6 paper pad and sticker sheet for this card. I bought this paper pad this year because I was a little tired of the Halloween paper pads that I had in my stash. I am happy to say that I have already used almost half of this paper pad! Maybe I will get a few more cards made and get it {mostly} used up!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #390

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope that you are having a great day!

Today I am sharing the card that I created for this week's sketch at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge. Here's a look at the sketch:

I needed a Halloween card and this is what I came up with:

I used Echo Parks's - I Love Halloween - 6x6 paper pad and stickers to make this card. You can't get any cuter than a witch, a ghost, and a vampire for a Halloween card, and I added a little puffy spider to the spiderweb.

After I took the photo of my card and got it here on the blog, I felt like the black background was a little plain, so I did add in some white dots with a white pen to make it look like a starry sky.

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #154

Happy Friday! I hope you're having a good week and that you're looking forward to the weekend. We have some much-needed rain and a little cooler temps in the forecast for this weekend and I am hoping to stay in and scrap!

It's time for the last card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. Sketch Artist Lisa has created a sketch that I know I will be using a lot! Here's a look at the sketch:

I made a Halloween card based off of the sketch using Close To My Heart's (D1806) Hello Pumpkin - Scrapbooking - stamp set. I just love that little ghost and couldn't wait to use him. I'm sure you'll be seeing him again before Halloween rolls around!

Like my Christmas papers, I am starting to lack in the Halloween papers department...I think I may need to order a new collection for this year. I did find these papers from an old Close To My Heart collection that I thought would be fun for this card. I can't even tell you how old they are - probably heading close to the 10 year mark - but they are some that I just couldn't bear to use at the time. This year they will be used up, whether that be on cards or on a layout!

In place of the banners, I used some ribbon doubled over to make 3 loops. I remember a long time ago when these were a thing. They make a cute little addition to a project and it's a little different way to get some ribbon used up! I think I still may have a package of embellishments with ribbon loops around here somewhere. 

Since I added the ribbon underneath the image panel, I needed to add some foam tape to it. I also popped up the ghost. 

I love how this fun little card turned out and it is just ready and waiting to be mailed out to someone special in a week or two!

Boo! - Sketch N Scrap #132

Hello, everyone! Good Saturday morning to you! We've got another busy weekend ahead of us and I can't wait. Tis the season for weenie roasts and time with family!

It's time for the second card sketch of the month at Sketch N Scrap today. Lisa has created a great card sketch with lots of possibilities! I know I will be using this one again!

While going through and reorganizing my old paper, I came across these Halloween papers and couldn't wait to use them on a project. The good thing about using them on a card is there are still plenty of scraps that can be used for a layout!

The sentiment is a Poppy Stamps die and the little ghosties (my favorite of all time) are from  Taylored Expressions. I die cut the sentiment four times and layered them on top of each other for a little dimension, and I also added foam tape to the back of the ghosts. I love how this turned out and it makes me so happy to have used some older papers, too!

Use Your Stuff Challenge #333 - Autumn/Halloween

Hello, everyone! Good Monday morning! I hope you had a good weekend. Ours was filled with lots of family fun - the kick-off to a busy few months, I guess you could say, and I am looking forward to it!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Use Your Stuff. This week we are challenging you to create an Autumn/Halloween themed project.

I have created a Halloween card this week:

I can't believe that this is the first Halloween card that I have made this year! I am getting a slow start, but I don't really plan to make too many.

I am trying to use up what little bit of Halloween papers that I have before I buy more and I must say, I don't have very much left. I think that next year I can look into buying a new collection or two.

I used all scraps from Doodlebug Design's - Boos and Brews - collection. I had that cute little Frankenstein left on the cut apart sheet, and I thought he needed to take center stage on my card. 

I based my card off of the sketch from Challenge #1 at Sketch N Scrap's Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice online crop. Head on over and check it out!

HIMCR #324 - Any Holiday

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Hiding In My Craft Room has a new challenge today and it is another of my favorites - Any Holiday. I figured since Halloween is just around the corner that I would make one more card for it.

Our sponsor this week is Melonheadz and I got to work with the Ghosties clip art. There are so many cute little ghosts in this set.

I printed the little ghost image on a piece of vellum to give it the see-through effect. I wish that I would have die cut the two stars in vellum instead of the white but once these were glued down there was no getting them back up!

I based my card off of this sketch from Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday - you still have another week to enter their challenge!

Sketch N Scrap World Card Making Day Sketch #4

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I can't believe that this is the last weekend of October and Halloween is just a few days away. Where did October go?! It always seems like once Halloween hits that time is just a blur until after the holidays.

Sketch N Scrap has one more card sketch for you today in honor of World Card Making Day. We have celebrated this fun day all month long and I am going to miss the weekly sketches! Lisa has created another great sketch for us to work with today:

I can already tell that I will be using this sketch for a Christmas card or two, but for today I have another Halloween card for you:

For this card, I have used an older Bo Bunny collection - Boo Crew - I think...

My scalloped circle dies are still missing - I really thought they would have turned up by now, but no such luck yet. I hope that doesn't mean that they somehow made it to the trash can...surely I would have noticed if the whole package had gone in the trash!

Anyway, instead of a scalloped circle, I just used a pinked circle die and it works just as well. The little witch is die cut from one of the patterned papers.

HIMCR #323 - Lots of Layers!

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope your weekend is off to a good start and maybe, just maybe, you're finding some time to get scrappy! After a quick trip to the grocery store (if there is such a thing!) I plan on spending the majority of my time in my scrap room.

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #108

Hello and Happy Friday! We have once again made it to the weekend. It's looking like it is going to be a quiet weekend around our house, so I have high hopes of getting lots of scrapping done!

Sketch N Scrap has posted a new card sketch today and I can't wait to see what you create with it! Lisa has outdone herself once again!

So, a little story about this card...I had it all made - scalloped border included - and then I could not find my scalloped circle die, and I had just used it that morning! I have looked high and low in my scrap room and I still cannot find it. I am sure the package was probably in amongst papers that I have put away, but that was three days ago and I still haven't found it! The pinked circle looked a little off with the scalloped border, so I just added another paper strip instead. I hope I find my scalloped circle dies soon...

I couldn't let the Halloween holiday go by without using my cute little ghost die and I thought this sketch was a good time to get him out and use him! I've used more of the Doodlebug Designs - Boos and Brews - 6x6 paper pad. The black enamel stars are from Close To My Heart.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope your week is going well. We are already at the midway point and the weekend will be here before we know it.

I had this cute little mummy left over from a cut apart sheet and thought that he was pretty spooky and pretty cute! I used Doodlebug Designs - Boos and Brews - 6x6 paper pad for this card. I just have a few sheets left and that is about it. I used the last of the scraps that I had for this collection on this card. Now next year I won't feel so bad about buying a new Halloween collection!

So, I got this card made and then realized that these are actually jack - o - lanterns - but they did start out as plain pumpkins! Ugh! I guess I had Halloween on the brain instead of general fall!

This month I had the pleasure of working with a digital image from Sheepski Designs.

I got to work with the Little Book of Monsters digital image. I colored the image with colored pencils and I used Jillibean Soup's - Happy Owloween - 6x6 papers. The sentiment is from an old Studio G $1 bin stamp set.

HIMCR #319 - Any Holiday

Hello, everyone! Good Saturday morning to you! I hope that your weekend is off to a good start. I have been battling a cold for the last week and I think I am finally feeling better this morning. Now that I am feeling better I hope to get lots of scrappy things done!

Hiding In My Craft Room #316 - Fall Colors

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope your weekend is off to a good start! My oldest son is home from college for the long weekend and I am enjoying getting to hear all about his first two weeks!

There's a new challenge posted today at Hiding In My Craft Room. Since it's the first Saturday of the month we have a color challenge for you. Use fall colors on your project.

I'm hoping that since Halloween is in the fall, and since we had a Halloween image to work with, that these colors will work all right for "fall" colors! I colored this little guy with colored pencils and I added in a touch of Wink Of Stella to his wings to make them sparkle.

I know, I know - it's a little early for Halloween, but I just couldn't help myself. We've been having unseasonably cool weather and it's putting me in the mood for all things fall - including Halloween. Now I'm not trying to rush it - I want it to be summer as long as possible, but this weather is making me think it's fall.

I kept this card pretty simple because that paper is all really busy! I tried to add three little black stars where the dots are on the sketch and they just got lost! So plain (and flat!) it is!

HIMCR #315 - Any Holiday

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! Now that we are back into the school routine Saturdays always seem so much sweeter!

We have a new challenge for you today over at Hiding In My Craft Room. This week our challenge is - Any Holiday! We had the pleasure of working with some Halloween images from this week's sponsor -  Pickled Potpourri.

Pickled Potpourri has so many cute Halloween images and I got to work with the super cute Witchie Witchie set.

I just love this cute little witch! The set also comes with a cat and a sentiment that I think would make for a cute project life style card.

I used an old paper from Echo Park's "Happy Halloween" collection for my background and the purple cardstock and green dot paper are from my scrap pile. I colored this image with some colored pencils that I have had in my stash for some time. I've kind of been enjoying trying out some different coloring techniques. Maybe one of these days I'll actually invest in some Copics!

HIMCR #313 - Super Scraps Saturday

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! We have made it to the weekend and I'm ready for a couple of nice lazy days and enjoying some family time! My hubby has been working overtime and I know he is ready for a couple of do nothing days.

We have a new challenge up today at Hiding In My Craft Room. It's the second Saturday of the month and that means it is "Super Scraps Saturday"! Pull out those scraps and get to working on a card or two!
