A Counterfeit Kit Challenge Twofer - Sort Of!

Hello, everyone! Good Monday morning to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and are ready for the new week. We are expecting some snow today...that's not unheard of around here this time of year, but it's very rare! We shall see what we end up with!

Counterfeit Kit Challenges has their first challenge of the month today. November is my (Lisa's) birthday month and there's always a sprinkle of shimmer, confetti, sequins or glitter to be seen. Make sure to make your projects shine by adding some extra sparkle to them.

So, I have a twofer for you today...I made my layout for this challenge, making sure to add lots of sparkle and bling, only to realize I had forgotten one very important detail - to USE MY KIT! Yep, I made my first layout -  from my scrap box - not my November kit! Doh! So it was back to the drawing board - with my November kit.

This is my second layout using papers, die cuts, and stickers from my November kit:

The one thing that I didn't include in my kit was something sparkly...oops!...but I did have this silver glitter paper on my desk from another project so it got added to my kit - just a bit after the fact!

I used the glitter paper to die cut some hearts and I also used it as one of the paper strips behind the photos.

I had originally planned on having the "Be Happy Be Bright Be You" die cut serve as my title and use the space under the photos for my journaling, but I found the "hello there" stickers in the Maggie Holmes sticker book that I had in my kit and went ahead and added them for my title.

I based this layout off of this sketch from October from Let's Get Sketchy

I thought since I had already made a layout for this challenge - just didn't use my kit for it! - that I would share it, too.

To be honest - these papers could have (and should have) been added to my kit this month. They are the right colors and the white with grey dot paper is actually from my October kit...

I used the silver glitter paper to die cut hearts from and to add a strip to the purple paper. I also added some purple gems for more bling. And I got another unicorn sticker used on this layout! Ada's shirt has a "hulacorn" on it and I thought it was the perfect time to get another one of these stickers used.

I based this layout off of this sketch from Cheryl at Even More Scrapping. It's an older sketch that I have had saved on my Pinterest boards for quite a while, so I am glad that I got to use it!

So I may have been concentrating so much on getting that extra sparkle on my page that I forgot to use my kit, but at least now I have TWO layouts made - and in record time for me, I might add!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge November Reveal and Blog Hop

Hello, everyone! Happy November 1st! I cannot believe that it is already November! The holidays are right around the corner.

Welcome to the November Counterfeit Kit Challenge reveal and blog hop! This is our last regular counterfeiting month of 2018. We will be doing something special for you in December, so stay tuned.

Here is the November inspiration kit - Citrus Twist Kit's October 2018 kit - Little Things

The inspiration kit is filled with blues, pinks, and yellows, floral prints, geometric prints, etc., and lots of fun embellishments.

Here is my kit:

I was inspired mostly by the colors and the floral prints in the inspiration kit. Here is a look at the papers for my kit:

I kind of went two ways with my papers and picked some that resembled the ones in the inspiration kit and then I also pulled some older Maggie Holmes papers that I have had for a while. I love Maggie Holmes papers but find that I don't actually use them very often, so I am hoping that since I have included a few in my kit that I will get them used.

Here is a closer look at the first set of papers:

When I saw the pink and blue vines on the navy paper it reminded of this Dear Lizzy's - Lovely Day - paper. The floral next to it and the polka dot on the other side is also from Lovely Day. There are also papers from Shimelle, Echo Park, We R Memory Keepers, Fancy Pants, and a few papers that I have had for way too long!

Here are the Maggie Holmes papers - and one old My Mind's Eye paper that matched:

I also added in a few neutrals to serve as backgrounds. Sometimes I get in a rut only using cardstock and I am hoping with having these in my kit that I will get out of that rut.

Here is a look at my embellishments. I have included lots of stickers, die cuts, wood veneer, and stamps in my kit:

Here are the wood pieces:

Back before Gossamer Blue went out of business, I bought a few of their wood veneer grab bags. I always forget about them, so I pulled quite a few for my kit this month.

I used to subscribe to the Citrus Twist Project Life kit but found that I wasn't using them, so I stopped until I can get myself into the habit of doing so. I pulled a die cut pack from one of the kits and a couple of Pinkfresh die cut packs. Not everything will go with my kit but I am hoping to use at least some of them.

I also pulled some Maggie Holmes sticker sheets and her big sticker book, and some blue alphas, which were part of an older Citrus Twist kit. I also added some puffy stickers from a CT kit and the Pinkfresh puffy stickers that I have had for way too long. Like the die cuts, not everything will match my kit but a good part of them will.

Since I had my older Citrus Twist kits out, I went ahead and kept out some of their stamp sets that I have yet to use. I am sure I can put a few of them to use this month!

That is my kit! A good mixture of things that I know I will get used and things that I hope to challenge myself to use. I am excited to get to work with my kit and I think I'll be able to get a variety of pages made with it.

Here is the complete blog hop list. Hop on over and check out the kits from the rest of the design team. Be sure to stop by our Guest Designer Alex's blog, too. She always puts together fantastic kits! We would love to see your kits, too!
