Hello Fall - Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #225

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I hope that your week is off to a good start! Summer has returned and after enjoying temperatures in the low 80s for a couple of weeks, we are back to the mid-90s and it's supposed to stay hot until the end of the week - a cool down is supposed to arrive just in time for the first day of fall.

Today I am sharing a card that I created using the September 5th card sketch from Sketch N Scrap. Here is a look at the great sketch that Lisa has created for us to use:

I love this sketch and it is going into my "favorites" folder to be used again soon! This is what I came up with:

One of Miss Ada's favorite animals is the squirrel and when I found this little guy on a cut-apart sheet from Pink Fresh, I knew I had to make her a card. I paired that little cutie with Echo Park's new Fall Fever collection and I think they look pretty good together!

I die-cut a few leaves in fall colors to add in place of the floral piece on the sketch. I added my sentiment to the bottom right corner with another die-cut leaf and a little heart.

Our guest designer, Brandi, over at Lasting Memories this week used jute twine on her layout and that made me want to use some for a fall project. I think it works perfectly for this time of year!

Here is a close-up of the leaves:

I really like how this card turned out and I cannot wait to get it in the mail!

I hope you have some time to play along with us at Sketch N Scrap this month - I would love to see your take on our sketches!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #335 - Mood Board

Happy Monday! It's the start of a new week and the start of a new challenge at Use Your Stuff!

This week we have a fantastic fall mood board to inspire you! There are so many things on this mood board to be inspired by - what will inspire you?

For my card, I was inspired by the fall leaves and the colors on the mood board to create a "Thankful" card:

I used papers from my September Counterfeit Kit (you can read more about it here) - mostly scraps from my 6x6 paper pads that I had included. I just love the gold, orange, cream, and kraft colors on this card!

The leaf stamp and the sentiment are from Close To My Heart - (Z4041) Falling For You. I have had this stamp set in my supplies for a while now and I can't believe this is the first time that I have inked  it up! I'm sure you will be seeing it more in the future!

I based my card off of this sketch from Palm trees and Pogo sticks - I just love this design:

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see how the rest of the design team was inspired to use this mood board. We would love to see your take on it, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #280

Hello again! I am back with a quick post to share with you tonight.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has posted a new sketch this week and I know I say this a lot - but this is going to be a favorite of mine! Here's a look at the sketch:

And here is what I came up with:

You will probably be seeing a few fall cards over the next couple of weeks. I have a few I need to make to get sent out for the fall season.

For my card, I have used the Echo Park 6x6 paper pad - Fall is in the Air - that I included in my Counterfeit Kit Challenge September kit. You can see my kit and read all about in this post here. I even used one of the leaves that I stamped for my forgeries earlier today! It is so great to have all of those supplies altogether when it's time to work on a project. The only thing that wasn't in my kit were the alpha stickers.

I really love this sketch and I know I will be using it again and again. I think it will be a good sketch to use for Christmas cards (I already have a couple of ideas planned for that) and birthday cards, and thinking of you cards, and...well, the list goes on and on!

Stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow to see the full design team reveals and last week's Top 3. I hope you have some time to play along with this sketch. I would love to see your take on it!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a good night!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Challenge #1

Happy Saturday scrappy friends - and what a great Saturday it is - World Card Making Day! The internet will be all abuzz with card challenges and inspiration!

At Sketch N Scrap it is going to be double the fun. We are celebrating WCMD all month long and it all starts today. We will post four exclusive new card sketches every Saturday in October. Our Fall Fun Crop is starting this weekend over on our Facebook page, as well. All of our crop challenges will be new card sketches in honor of WCMD, so be sure to check both the blog and the Facebook page out!

Here is the fabulous sketch that Lisa has created for the blog post today:

I just have to say - I love this sketch and I'm sure it will be a go-to sketch for me when I need a quick card.

I haven't made many fall cards, so I thought that is what I would concentrate on for at least part of this month. I used an old Pink Paislee collection - Prairie Hill - that I love so much and have been hoarding since I bought it, waiting for the perfect project. Now is the time to get it out and use it! You will probably be seeing these papers all month long!

I stamped a pretty little leaf from an old Close To My Heart stamp set and the sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.

Be sure to check out the Sketch N Scrap blog and our Fall Fun Crop and join in on the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back with another project a little later!

Hello and Happy Saturday! Yay for the weekend - and we have no plans at all for this weekend, so it looks like I will be spending lots of time in my scrap room!

We have a new challenge up at Hiding In My Craft Room. This week's challenge is - "It's Fall, Y'all" and it is being sponsored by Star Stamps, so be sure to stop by and check them out!

I had the pleasure of working with the "Autumn Fall Girl Reading" digi stamp:

Such a beautiful image to work with! I colored it with colored pencils and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I used Echo Park's  - A Perfect Autumn - 6x6 paper pad for the papers on this card.

Be sure to stop by the Hiding In My Craft Room blog to see the beautiful creations from the rest of the design team. I hope to see you playing along with us this week!

Try Stampin' -Or Not - On Tuesday #338

Hello, everyone! Happy Thursday to you! I hope you are having a good week. Not much longer now and it will be the weekend again!

The long Labor Day weekend has really gotten me behind on my days this week! I guess that is good since I'm thinking it's Wednesday and it's really Thursday, but it's not good that I forgot to add my design team card for Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday on the right day!

Here is the sketch, courtesy of Kaylin, and this week's optional theme is "School time":

I discovered when looking for papers, stamps, etc. for a school theme that I don't have a lot of that in my stash anymore, and since this school year is well underway, adding anything to my stash that it school related will have to wait until next year.

I did, however, make my first "fall" card of the year. The weather around here has been feeling a lot more like fall than the end of summer, so it's only fitting!

I used Echo Park's - A Perfect Autumn - for this card. Such pretty fall papers in this collection! The focal piece is from one of the ephemera packs. Now that I look back at this card, I think it would have looked really cute to wrap a little bit of jute around the top of it....I just might have to try that!

Be sure to check out the Try Stampin' blog to see the beautiful cards from the design team. Our challenges are open for two weeks and you can enter on the blog or on our Facebook page here

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #192 - Fall Theme

Hey everyone! I am hosting the challenge for this week over on the Use Your Stuff blog. My challenge to you is to create a fall themed project. It can be fall colors - think reds, oranges, yellows, gold, and brown - or something to do with leaves, pumpkins, the pumpkin patch, apples, scarecrows... whatever makes you think of fall.

For my project, I have created a fall themed card using the beautiful Carta Bella - Fall Blessings 6x6 paper pad. This has got to be one of my favorite fall collections - ever! The colors and the patterns are just so pretty!

I used this sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday #235:

I loved the layers of papers on this sketch, and of course it has my favorite - big banner piece, too. I just added in a few sequins and gold thread, and I really like the way it turned out. Be sure to check out Try Stampin' On Tuesday - they have fun sketches every Tuesday!

Head on over to the Use Your Stuff blog and see the other projects from the design team. I hope you have some time to play along with my challenge. Your have until Saturday, September 26 to get your project linked up.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Feeling Sketchy #128 - Happy Fall

Hello everyone! How did this happen? How can it possible be September already?! Time is really flying by!

I have a new sketch from Feeling Sketchy to share with you all today.

We have been having beautiful weather the past couple of weeks - highs in the upper 70's to low 80's - and it really got me in the mood for fall. Now this week we are back to summer like temperatures! I guess it can be expected, we are still in summer around here, but those nice days really have me ready for fall.

I used an older Simple Stories fall line called Harvest Lane. I have been hanging on to it for a couple of years now, and I don't know why, they come out with a new fall collection every year! I thought I'd better get to using up the old so I can buy some of the new!

The only change I made on my card is where it laces up on the sketch. I just wrapped my card front with twine and tied a bow.

Our sponsor for this sketch is Deedee's Digis. Be sure to check them out, and head on over to the Feeling Sketchy blog to read more about them and see the rest of the design team's take on the sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!
