Counterfeit Kit Challenge September Blog Hop and Reveal

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday and Happy September 1st! It's Labor Day weekend here in the US - which also marks the (unofficial) end of summer. I will be sad to see summer go - it is my favorite season - but I am kind of ready for cooler weather and all the fun things that come in the fall season.

We have a new inspiration kit for you to counterfeit over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. Tina has chosen the Noel Mignon Apple Crisp Kit as our inspiration kit for September:

Wow! What a kit to counterfeit! So much fun, yummy fall goodies in this kit! You can read more about the kit over on the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog and there is also a link to an unboxing video where you can see all of the fun goodies.

We have a wonderful guest designer this month - Janet of RTS Scrapbooking. Janet has a fantastic YouTube channel where she shares so much information and beautiful layouts, too. Hop on over to RTS Scrapbooking and check her out.

Now, here is a look at my mega kit - yes, I said mega kit! I just couldn't help myself! I have named this kit - Hodgepodge of Fall:

This is just a small glimpse portion of my kit...we will go into more detail below. Just a little warning - this is going to be a photo-heavy and long post!

I was pretty excited when I saw the inspiration kit because I love all things fall. The papers are so pretty and after scrapping lots of summer photos using bright colors, it's always a nice change to scrap with the darker, richer colors that come with fall.

I was feeling pretty proud of myself because I haven't bought a 12x12 fall collections in a couple of years. I did pick up the Echo Park - A Perfect Autumn - 6x6 paper pad last year, but that was it. I thought I had just about used up all of my fall papers. Then, I really started looking through my supplies for a piece of purple paper (you'll find out why I was looking for this later in the month!)...turns out I still have quite a few fall collections after all. That made it really hard to narrow down my choices!

Here is a look at the papers that I have chosen for my kit. I think I counted a total of 45 (it was originally over 100, so I did narrow it down) papers and that's not counting my scraps!

Since I think it's always hard to see all the papers when there are so many, I took photos of each collection to show you. The first set of papers are from Simple Stories - Harvest Lane, Hello Fall, Vintage Blessings, and one sheet from 24/7:

The second set is from Fancy Pants - Happy Go Lucky:

Only the five papers - and one corrugated paper - in the back are full sheets. The rest of the papers are scraps. I have a feeling these papers may be the first to be used up this month!

Next, we have Carta Bella's Fall Blessings:

The arrow paper and the ledger paper on the left are the only full sheets left of this collection. The rest of the papers are scraps and I only have a few full 6x6  sheets left, as well.

Next, I have a few sheets from Jillibean Soup's Farmhouse Brew, One Canoe Two's Twilight, and Simple Stories Cabin Fever. I have gotten these papers in a kit over the last year and have yet to use them up. In the inspiration kit, there is a hint of pink and these collections, with the exception of the Simple Stories, all have a touch of pink in them.

Lastly, we have some random papers that were the colors that I was looking for:

The papers in the back row are from a Recollections paper pad (a knock-off of My Mind's Eye collections), the Pink Paislee green zig zag that I included in my mini kit last month and didn't get used yet, the blue gingham is from October Afternoon,  the tan dot, cream flowered, and brown papers are from My Mind's Eye, and the red houndstooth is from Little Yellow Bicycle's Acorn Hollow.

I also pulled what fall 6x6 paper pads that I have. I have two Simple Stories Harvest Lane pads - one is almost completely used up, and I still have quite a few full sheets of the Echo Park Fall is in the Air left. The Echo Park - A Perfect Autumn, Carta Bella's Fall Blessings, and Simple Stories - Hello Fall pads all have around 5 full sheets of paper and some scraps, so I am hoping to get these all used up!

For my embellishments:

I have some Simple Stories Vintage Blessing's chipboard stickers, Echo Park's Fall is in the Air ephemera/tags pack, Gossamer Blue's Gramercy Road tags, labels, chipboard stickers, and die cut leaves, Jillibean Soup orange journaling tags, wood words from Heidi Swapp, wood veneer from PinkFresh Studio, and wood buttons from One Canoe Two, some enamel shapes from Bella Blvd, and some glitter enamel dots that I found at the Dollar Tree.

I also pulled some sticker sheets from these collections:

The 12x12 sticker sheets from Simple Stories Harvest Lane and Cabin Fever, Carta Bella's Fall Blessings, and Fancy Pants' Happy Go Lucky. I also have the tape strips from Happy Go Lucky and the 6x12 stickers from One Canoe Two - Twilight and an older Echo Park sticker - Fall Fever.

And I can't forget the alphas, ribbon/twine, more stickers, and cut apart sheets!

The alphas are from Basic Grey, Simple Stories, October Afternoon, and American Crafts. I decided to try and use up some of my ribbons and went with it instead of washi tape. I also pulled some jute and paper ribbon...I can't remember exactly what it was called, it's been in my stash so long! I also have the Hello Fall sticker sheets from Simple Stories, and a couple of there phrase stickers, as well.

Phew! What a post! I know that there is a lot in this kit, but I know the way I am and the way I scrap. It is inevitable - if I don't include something, then that is the exact thing that I would want to use, so it's easier for me to include it and have what I think I may want in my kit ready for me to scrap!

I am excited to get started using my kit! I tend to mostly scrap whatever season we are in, so I have a photo order of all of our fall photos that I still need to scrap from the last five years. That should keep me busy this month!
