LM #419 - Autumn Splendor

Hello, everyone! I hope that you are having a good weekend! It's a beautiful fall weekend here in the middle of the US and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Today is the start of a new set of challenges at Lasting Memories. This month we are all about techniques and this week our challenge is to use 2 or more torn papers on our layouts.

I am still working on some older fall photos so I made a layout of Ada's first experience with fall.

I pulled out my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit and put it work for this layout. You can read more about it here. I am actually putting a dent in this mega kit that I created and getting older photos scrapped!

I used Fancy Pants' - Happy Go Lucky - papers on this layout, stickers from an old Echo Park collection - Fall Fever - the alpha stickers are old Jillibean Soup, my new favorite Dollar Tree find - glitter dots, and the leaves are die cut using dies from Paper Smooches and the hearts were die cut using dies from Lawn Fawn.

I tore both the red dot paper and the yellow gingham paper along the top edge and then inked the torn edge with Tim Holtz - walnut stain - distress ink.

Here are a couple of close-ups of the embellishments:

I can remember this day like it was yesterday! How can it have been 4 years ago?! It was a beautiful fall day and Ada and I had gone outside to explore. The trees looked so pretty and the leaves were really starting to fall. I sat Ada down under one of the trees and she was so curious about all of the leaves that were on the ground around her.

I took a lot of photos that day and I think my favorite one is the bottom photo of her chubby little hand touching the leaf! Of course, it wasn't long before she picked it up and it went straight to the mouth!

I still need to add my journaling to the bottom right corner by the leaf and heart die. I know I will be making at least one more layout with the photos from this day, so I just need to figure out what journaling is going to go on what layout.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see how the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. It's going to be a fun month and I hope you join us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #335 - Mood Board

Happy Monday! It's the start of a new week and the start of a new challenge at Use Your Stuff!

This week we have a fantastic fall mood board to inspire you! There are so many things on this mood board to be inspired by - what will inspire you?

For my card, I was inspired by the fall leaves and the colors on the mood board to create a "Thankful" card:

I used papers from my September Counterfeit Kit (you can read more about it here) - mostly scraps from my 6x6 paper pads that I had included. I just love the gold, orange, cream, and kraft colors on this card!

The leaf stamp and the sentiment are from Close To My Heart - (Z4041) Falling For You. I have had this stamp set in my supplies for a while now and I can't believe this is the first time that I have inked  it up! I'm sure you will be seeing it more in the future!

I based my card off of this sketch from Palm trees and Pogo sticks - I just love this design:

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see how the rest of the design team was inspired to use this mood board. We would love to see your take on it, too!

Sketches In Thyme #345

Hello, hello! Good Wednesday morning to you! The weather is finally starting to warm back up to normal temperatures after a few days of below normal cold temperatures. No wonder it feels like we go from summer straight to winter when we skip the 60's and 70's and go right to the 30's and 40's! Hopefully, normal fall temps are here to stay for a little while!

I am featured today over on the Sketches In Thyme blog with my take on Sketch #345. Here is a look at the sketch, courtesy of Jenessa:

I am still working on getting older fall photos scrapped, and I am still working with my September Counterfeit Kit Challenge (you can read all about it here). I had filled my kit with lots of fall papers in hopes of getting some of them used up and I am sticking with it until that kit is used!

Since taking a family photo in front of the pretty trees is tradition, it gets a little hard to come up with a title that hasn't been used over and over. I decided to go with the date of the photo as my title for something a little different.

I used a mix Fancy Pants, Simple Stories, October Afternoon, and I'm not really sure of where the green is from, I had to pull it from my stash as I had none in my kit. I fussy cut the leaves out of one of the Fancy Pants papers and the printed wood veneer pieces are from Pinkfresh - Oh My Heart. I added some gold hearts and gold splatters, too.

I decided to add in more banners as opposed to the squares at the top of the page. The squares and the border strip at the top of the page just didn't work together well for me.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme for inspiration every single day of the week. We would love to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

I'm Nuts About You - Sketch N Scrap #162

Hello, everyone! Happy October 1st! I can't believe it is already October. After a few beautiful, fall-like days, we are back to summertime temps this week.

The first day of the month means we have a brand new sketch for you at Sketch N Scrap. Lisa has created a fantastic 2-photo sketch to get us started this month:

Since we were having some beautiful fall weather, I was in the mood to scrap some older fall photos.

I used my September Counterfeit Kit for this layout. The papers that I included were perfect for these photos of Abby and Ada back in 2014. The only paper that wasn't in my kit was the brown strip down the left side.

I decided to let the "I'm nuts about you" embellishment stand as my title. I know that Abby is nuts about Ada, and I, of course, am nuts about both of them! I wanted to add some journaling so I used the space for the title as space for my journaling.

I also added a bow that I tied out of some jute that I had included in my kit, and I was able to use up some more of those Dollar Tree glitter dots!

Did you see the word stickers that I made for my forgeries last month? I love the way they look in that cluster.

About the photos - Fall of 2014 was exceptionally beautiful. Our trees had the most gorgeous color to them that year. It just so happened that Abby and Ada were over one weekend when they were at their peak and I was able to snap a few photos of them. They looked so cute sitting amongst the fallen leaves!

You will probably be seeing more of my September Counterfeit Kit in October, and maybe even into November, too, as I am in the mood to scrap fall photos and that kit is all about fall! I will also be revealing my October kit today, too!

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. I would love to see your take on the sketch - be sure to share with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be right back to share my October Counterfeit Kit with you!
