Several of our design team members are playing along and offering up some blog candy, so be sure to stop by each of their blogs. You should have arrived here by way of Michele's blog. If you get lost along the way, or just want to start from the beginning, you can find the complete list on the Lasting Memories blog.
Our theme for July is "Childhood Games". Each week you will make your layout based on the photo/game provided. Our first challenge is "Marbles". Here is your inspiration photo:
For my layout I was inspired by the circles and the bright colors. I still need to add my journaling in above the photos on the right hand side of the layout. I just need to figure out how I can fit all that I want to say in that little space!
Here is a closer look at each page:
This layout is about a fund raiser that our little elementary school has that is near and dear to my heart. Every year, for the past six years, they hold a fun walk/run called "Conway Bears Step Up For Autism". The students get donations or pledges, then they get to spend one afternoon out on the track, running or walking a mile, and then cooling off with a treat.
This year it was held on May 11th. Since Abby is the Special Education teacher for K-4th graders, she got to walk with us, and even Matthew came along for it since he was already out of school. Even though it was pretty hot that day, and all Ada wanted to do was play at the "park" (playground) - we still had a lot of fun!
I based my layout on a sketch from the brand new sketch book by Scrapbook Generation called, The Whole Picture. I just picked this book up on Thursday, and I seriously love it! I am pretty sure that I will be using every single sketch in that book!
I do have some blog candy to give away here on my blog! All you have to do for a chance to win these goodies from Elle's Studio, is leave a comment on this post by next Saturday, July 9th. Of course I would love it if you would become a follower, but it's not necessary to win my blog candy, just leave me a comment. I will draw a winner next Sunday, July 10th.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Next up on the hop is Haven.
Here is the order of the hop in case you get lost along the way!
Lori ----- You Are Here
The colors, pictures, and cause makes this layout a winner!
ReplyDeleteI can see why that little space for journaling is going to be a challenge. Type on the computer in small font?
ReplyDeleteSuper cute layout Lori :)The journaling maybe a hidden tag in that spot depending on how you have the photo attached. Glad to hear that the sketch book is good, I was on the fence to buy it, but now might have too :)
ReplyDeleteThese are really nice layouts Lori and a great cause! (This probably wouldn't be a large enough journal box for me either as I tend to write a LOT! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win your generous prize!
I really like the colors in your layout. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteFabulous double layout featuring a great cause! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great double page spread! Always love the beautiful work you create! cheers!
ReplyDeleteGreat lo! Love the colors and embellies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use of all the primary colours, Lori. :) I just love this-- and I most especially love that Autism shirt--- what it says is SO true, right? :) The circles add so much to this LO... in their various positions! Very cool to see a 2-pager. Not too many of we scrappers do them anymore! BTW, that cause is near and dear to my heart, too... ie: Same cause-- different place/different fundraiser name... Thanks for sharing your pages!! love them. :) ~ Ali
ReplyDeleteLove how these colors pop on the white backgrounded :) The circles were the perfect embellishment for that fun balloon arch in the photos. Thanks for the chance to win some Elles Studio (my favorite!) -Suzanne suzyq28024@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteBeautiful layout for a wonderful cause. I love how you did your headline. I am honored to be joining you this month as GDT for Lasting Memories!
ReplyDeleteFabulous two page layout!! Love the papers!!
ReplyDeleteOh I love double page layouts, and I love the way you used the circles. Gorgeous colours, and what a fabulous theme to capture in a layout, one that I can very closely relate to.
ReplyDeleteGreat layout looks like you had a fun day out too thanks for the chance hugs Nikki
ReplyDeleteGreat take on this challenge Lori. Love the layout.
ReplyDeleteThis is so a layout I would do! So my style. Hmmm... on journaling... like Haven said... type in small font? Or... I have written around the entire outside edge of my layouts before. It's kind of fun and adds a border. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic fundraiser and I just love your spread Lori!! Awesome!
