Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash - July Kit

Hello, hello! Happy July 1st! Can you believe that it is July and that we are already halfway through the year?! We are heading into the heart of summer and I foresee lots of days filled with scrapping - inside - where it is nice and cool.

A new month means that it's time for a new kit for Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash! If you don't know what the Great Stash Bash is - it is a challenge that my good friend Lisa and I do every month. We pull items from our stash based on a "recipe" (which you will see below) in an effort to get our scrappy stash used up! 

Before I get to this month's kit, I will let you know that I did pretty decent with my kit last month. I made two layouts - which doesn't sound like a big deal - but I managed to use all but one of the papers in my "boy" themed kit, and two of the papers from the "girl" kit, and I still have a layout planned out for the rest of the "girlie" kit. I just need to make the time to get it done and then see if I can tackle some of the scraps. 

Now to my July kit. Here is this month's recipe:

Our "recipe" is to pull 10 patterned papers, 5-7 scraps, 3-4 embellishments, and for July our focus item is enamel dots - which I have quite a few of!

Since I did well with making two mini kits for June, I decided to stick to that and I made two mini kits for July - and I already have layouts planned for them! With the 4th of July being this weekend, I went with a red, white, and blue kit and a general summer kit:

 First, let's start with my red, white, and blue mini kit - the Fancy Pants - Hometown Summer - collection:

This collection is new to my stash and I could not wait to use it! Here's a look at the papers:

I included five patterned papers in this mini kit and one cardstock that I will use for matting. 

Here's a look at the embellishments:

I have die-cuts, wood buttons, and a few enamel dots. Some of the die-cuts are from an old Doodlebug collection but I think I can make them work. I didn't pull any scraps for this collection, but I did include a few 6x8 papers and a 6x6 paper pad to use. I may try making a few embellishments if I need to.

Here is mini kit #2:

This kit all consists of Echo Park's - Summer Dreams - collection - one of my all-time favorite summer collections. Here is a look at the papers:

I am planning to use these papers (mostly) for Ada's 2019 Summer Bucket List that I still need to finish! I really hope that I get it finished this summer!

Here are the embellishments:

I have a sticker sheet - well, two of the same sticker sheet, actually (here's to using them up!) - a cut apart sheet, and the 6x6 paper pad. I know I have the die-cut pack for this collection somewhere in my stash, so if I can uncover it I will throw it in my kit, as well.

Here are the scraps that I pulled for this collection:

I had a hard time settling on my "summer" kit. I really wanted to add Simple Stories' Sunkissed collection...I have a plan for a project that I really want to get started on. I know - I really should get one project done before I start on another - but what's the fun in that?! So, I included a bonus kit - and it is the Sunkissed collection!

The only full 12x12 sheets that I have included are the cut apart papers.

Here are the embellishments:

I have the 12x12 sticker sheet, the sticker book, puffy stickers, the 6x8 paper pad, and of course, enamel dots.

I did add in a few scraps in case I need them:

I can't wait to get started on this project - now if I can just hang on to that excitement throughout the month!

Our focus item this month is enamel dots and like I said, I have collected quite a few:

I will be so happy to get some of these onto layouts and cards this month!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash - June Kit

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday and Happy June 1st! How can it possibly be June already?! Our weather the past few days - or really the whole month of May - has felt nothing like late spring or early summer days. It has been so cool - let's face it, downright cold for this time of year -  and so much rain. I mean low 60's for highs and 40's for lows - no thank you! I say bring on the sunshine and summer temps!

Enough about the weather around here, let's talk about something fun - a new kit for Lisa and Lori's Great Stash Bash! 

If you don't know what the Great Stash Bash is - it is a challenge that my good friend Lisa and I do every month. We pull items from our stash based on a "recipe" (which you will see below) in an effort to get our scrappy stash used up!

Here is the June recipe:

Our "recipe" is to pull 10 patterned papers, 5-7 scraps, 3-4 embellishments, and for June our focus item is 6x6 paper pads.

For June I decided to make up two mini kits - one geared more towards masculine layouts and one that's a little more girlie, although I have an idea for a family layout with it, as well. Here's a look at my kit:

I have a stack of papers in my scrap room from past kits that I have put together or that didn't make the cut for a past kit and I decided to go through those to pick my kit for June. Let's take a closer look at each kit. 

First up is the "boy" kit:

I have been going through photos lately and I still have so many of my boys that I haven't scrapped - all the way from toddler to their teen years. So I wanted papers that would work for them.

Here are the papers:

I have papers from Fancy Pants, Pink Paislee, Crate Paper, Echo Park, and Crate Paper from left to right. 

Here are the embellishments that I have pulled:

 

I went through my stickers and found several that I thought would work with the papers. I also pulled my die-cut book since it has a couple of Simple Stories sets in it. I should have plenty to choose from here!

So, I did a thing earlier in May and tossed a bunch of my scraps. I had been working with the same scraps for a couple of years and just decided it was time to get rid of them. I have enough paper that I could not save another scrap and I wouldn't go wanting! Luckily, I had kept some scraps from a few different collections/manufacturers and I was able to find scraps for both of my mini-kits. Here are the "boy" scraps:

Now for my "girlie" mini-kit:

Lots of corally pinks, mint, teal, and navy in these papers. I was intending to use them for photos of my girls, and I more than likely still will, but we just took some family photos over the weekend that I would really like to get scrapped, too.

Here's a better look at the papers:

I have papers from Maggie Holmes and Dear Lizzy in this mini-kit.

I don't have any specific embellishments from the collections that go with these papers so I went back to my stickers and found several that will work:

I picked several different sticker sheets that had the same colors that were in my papers - and a few could be used with the boy kit, too.

Here are the "girl" scraps that I picked:

I feel like the paper with the circles could always be used for embellishments if I need something more.

I had pulled out these papers, too, but they didn't make the original cut for my ten papers. I am going to keep them with my kit just in case I "need" them!

I also found these two papers that will be great to fussy cut and use as embellishments:

I can't wait to use those little frames on a layout!

Our focus item for June is 6x6 paper pads - which I have a ton of! Here are just  a few of what I have:

I have four of these bins on the top of my cube organizer and two more below those. Each one can hold up to 40 paper pads depending on how full that they are. That means that I have well over 200 6x6 paper pads and these aren't even all of them. Most of my newer 6x6 and 6x8 paper pads are all in another bin across the room. And this doesn't even include my Elle's Studio (both 6x6 and 6x8 which I think I have every single one that they have ever made). They are all currently housed in one of my 3-tier carts. I think it's safe to say that I need to definitely "focus" on my 6x6 paper pads!

I did pull out a few to keep with my kit - mostly as a reminder to use them! I have a few of the newer ones that I have picked up recently ( all of the top row) and a few older pads that I thought would work with my kit:

I also have some 6x6 papers that were about all used up so I put them in a plastic 6x6 case - and I don't think I have opened the container since! I pulled those in hopes that I can use them for layering, cards, or maybe even their own layout:

I am also playing along with the Allison Davis Sketches for 6x6 Paper Pads class (for one-page sketches and I am still working on the double-page sketch class, too) so I am hoping I can get at least some 6x6 paper pads put to use this month!

Now to get scrappy and create a few things this month!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash - April Edition!

It is already time for the April edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash! Where did March even go?! 

If you don't know what the Great Stash Bash is - it is a challenge that my good friend Lisa and I do every month. We pull items from our stash based on a "recipe" (which you will see below) in an effort to get our scrappy stash used up!

I did not do well at all with my kit last month...I don't know that I even touched it. To be honest, March was a bit of a blur and there are going to be changes around here, but I will get into all of that in another post. I am keeping my March kit out - because I love it - and I hope to use it throughout the next couple of months.

Here is my kit:

I've gotten a few new collections from Close To My Heart the last couple of months and I thought it was time to work through some of my older collections and try to get them cleared out. The great thing about CTMH is that their collections work so well with each other! I pulled papers from two of my all-time favorite collections (from 2018) I Heart Us and Heart Happy.

Here are the papers:

I am ready for some bright, fun, spring/summer papers to work with and I think the papers in these two collections will work well with each other! I am hoping to work on Ada's 2019 Summer Bucket List traveler's notebook this month so I kept that in mind when I made my kit. 

Here are my embellishments:

Like my Counterfeit Kit that I posted earlier, I went a little overboard on embellishments! And, to be honest, this is not all that I pulled for embellishments this month - you'll see the rest below! I included a cut apart sheet from the 'I Heart Us' collection, stickers and chipboard from a different CTMH collection, puffy/enamel shapes, summer-themed stickers, and a few cut aparts from Pretty Little Studio that I recently got in a grab bag.

And if that is not enough to last the month, while I was looking for the stickers for the above collections, I found a few more things that I thought might match, so I threw them in my kit in hopes to get them used, too. Not everything will match, but I think it's safe to say that I have plenty to choose from here:

I reorganized my scrap room the first of the year and I came across a bunch of  embellishments - I think from old kits from The ScrapRoom - that I had put in with my CTMH stickers for some reason. I went through those and picked out what matched and added those, along with a few more CTMH stickers and chipboard sheets. 

I blame a phone call from my sister in the middle of me taking photos as to why I forgot to include this Amy Tangerine sticker book in the above photo! I didn't have the time or energy to pull all of those embellishments back out just to include this, so it gets a photo of it's own!

This collection came out in 2015 and I picked the sticker book up at Tuesday Morning, probably the following year. I had been waiting for the perfect time to pull this out and use it - wanting to be sure to use it in my PL album...and yet, there it still sits, not even one sticker used. I am hoping to rectify that this month!

Here are my scraps:

I pulled all of the scraps that I have for these collections - and a few from other CTMH collections - to use up this month. That should be pretty easy to do!

Our focus item for April is brads/eyelets. I think I've gotten rid of most of my eyelets and I haven't bought a bunch of brads in a long time - occasionally I will pick them up with a collection, but not often. I did find this container of mini brads that I have had I think since I started scrapping! Again, not all of these will match, but I would love to get the ones that do used up this month!

I was so excited while I was pulling this kit together to get started on some layouts. I just hope I have more time this month to get it all done!

Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash - March Edition

 It is time for the March edition of Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash! If you don't know what the Great Stash Bash is - it is a challenge that my good friend Lisa and I do every month. We pull items from our stash based on a "recipe" (which you will see below) in an effort to get our scrappy stash used up!

For a little update on my February kit - I did manage to use some of it - mostly the scraps! With February being a short month I didn't have time to get to the layouts that I wanted to get made. The papers are still pulled out with the photos and I will get to them eventually. Everything is right there waiting for me!

Now, here is this month's graphic:

Our kit "recipe" is 10 patterned papers, 5-7 scrap papers, 3-4 embellishments, and our focus item this month is washi tape.

Once again I tried to keep in mind some photos I would like to get scrapped when I pulled my papers to hopefully get my kit used!

Here are the papers that I have included in my kit:

I have picked papers from Simple Stories' So Happy Together collection and Echo Park's Sweet Girl collection. When I reorganized my scrap room after the first of the year, I discovered I had two full collections of the So Happy Together line and some stragglers from a ScrapRoom Kit. Now, I absolutely love this collection and I know I will have no trouble using it up, but I would like to get some of it used now instead of letting it sit in my stash! The Sweet Girl collection only has a few papers left in it and I hope to use it all this month.

Here are the embellishments that I included:

The 12x12 sticker sheets from both collections, the small sticker book and die-cuts from the So Happy Together collection, and a few doilies. Lots of fun goodies to play with here!

These are all for the Sweet Girl collection since I don't have as much of it in my kit.

This month we are focusing on using our washi tape:

When I pulled these that are in the photo I had a different set of Simple Stories papers picked out, so a few of these won't match, but they are a representation and will help me remember to pull other washi when I work with this kit.

I look forward to using this kit this month! I just hope I can stay focused and get more of it used during the month instead of later in the year!

Lisa and Lori's Great Stash Bash February Edition

It is time for the February edition of Lisa and Lori's Great Stash Bash! If you don't know what the Great Stash Bash is - it is a challenge that my good friend Lisa and I do every month. We pull items from our stash based on a "recipe" (which you will see below) in an effort to get our scrappy stash used up!

I can't believe it is already time to put another stash kit together! January just seemed to fly by, and even though one of my goals this year was to work with my stash bash kit during the month and hopefully get it used...well, I had good intentions, it just didn't happen! I am not putting that kit away anytime soon. I will make a project or two out of it yet!

With that being said, let's move on to what I pulled together for February.

Our kit "recipe" is 10 patterned papers, 5-7 scrap papers, 3-4 embellishments, and our focus item this month is 12x12 sticker sheets.

Here is my kit:

I took a little different approach to putting my kit together for February. I decided if I was going to be successful at using up my kit this month then I needed to take the time to do a little extra planning. I started with our focus piece this month - 12x12 sticker sheets - and picked three that I knew I had photos for. There's no need for me to pick more - these three will be plenty for me to work with this month!

Simple Stories' Sweet Talk and Little Princess sticker sheets and Carta Bella's Soak Up The Sun sticker sheet. I have photos of Ada in her Elsa costume - both at Halloween from a couple of years ago and her in it just playing. I have photos of Abby, Shawn, and Ada camping at the lake last year, along with a ton of other summertime photos that I can use for the summer collection, and with Valentine's Day a couple of weeks away, the Sweet Talk stickers will be perfect for some cards.

Here are the papers I picked to use this month. At first, I thought they were just going to be a hodgepodge of papers, but when I laid them all out together I was surprised at how well they went together!

I picked two papers from the Sweet Talk collection, three papers from the Little Princess collection, and five from the Soak Up The Sun collection to make my 10 papers.

Here are the embellishments. A few more than the called for 3-4 but it's a good variety - especially in the "summer" category - to get a few pages done:

After the first of the year, I took a couple of weeks to rearrange and reorganize my scrap room. I found a lot of things that I would like to get used up - like the October Afternoon summer sticker sheets and the alphas stickers that have been in my stash for ages! I also came across the pack of vellum die-cut pieces from Amy Tangerine and there are several that I think will work with the layouts I have planned for this month. If I could put a dent in those items, I would be a happy camper!

Here are the scraps that I have put in my kit:

Again, with my rearranging, I took the time to get my collections all put back together instead of my paper being a mixed-up mess. What scraps I had with the collections all went into a 12x12 page protector, so it was super easy to find some scraps that matched for this kit.

I had just a few more pieces of paper that I wanted to include:

The cut apart papers will be used for titles and embellishments and the other three are just extras in case I need them. I figured while I had them out I might as well add them. I want to have everything I might possibly want to use on a layout together and ready to go.

As I was pulling my kit I made sure to jot down what layouts - or projects I would like to get made with this kit:

I know this seems like an unnecessary thing to do...I have already pulled this kit with these layouts in mind. My problem is that sometimes when I sit down to scrap I let my mind wander and then I start thinking of other photos to maybe scrap with these papers - which is fine - but more often than not I'll go in search of the other photos only to find that they really don't go with what I picked, and then I'm off looking for more papers, and that is not what I want to happen! If I have my plans already written down and make myself stick to them, then I should be able to get this kit used up!
