Sketch N Scrap #144

Happy New Year! I can't believe that it is 2018! I am looking forward to the new year and all that is to come!

Today is going to be a very busy day around the old blog, so let's get started!

Sketch N Scrap has a fun new sketch to get the new year started off right! Lisa has created a great 3 photo sketch for us to work with, and as you can see by my layout, it is easy to adapt to a 2 photo layout or you could even use 4 photos, or one large many possibilities!

Let me start by saying - I love these cute photos of Miss Ada! She looks so stinkin' adorable in that Twilight Sparkle mask/glasses! I was surprised when she readily agreed to putting them on and letting me take a picture or two of her. She's a pretty good sport!

I knew I wanted to use the colors in the glasses, so purple, navy, and hot pink. Purple paper was hard to find in my stash! I did find these two pieces from Echo Park to work with. In fact, all of the papers on this layout are from Echo Park. And can you believe that in all of the thousands - yes, you read that right - thousands - of patterned papers that I have I could not find a navy blue that I thought matched! Or maybe I just didn't look hard enough, but I did have this navy polka dot washi tape out on my desk and it looked pretty good on there!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with the circle element on the sketch. I didn't want to use more purple or hot pink, so I decided to add some Tim Holtz Distess Ink to a doily, and the colors matched really well!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. We hope you have some time to play along with us this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be right back with another project to share with you!

  1. Oh this is so adorable! What fabulous photos and they're perfectly scrapped. Wishing you a wonderful 2018 :)

  2. Such a cute and perfectly made page! The doily turned out perfect for the page. And about the Navy, it happens to me all the time. I look through my massive stash looking for THE perfect thing to use, and after all that, I end up using something that was laying on my table to begin with and it looks like it was made for it. 🙄

  3. sad we have that problem with so many papers!! I love your layout, Miss Ada is adorable as always! And the sketch looks great with 2 pictures! Happy New Year friend!
