Lasting Memories #274

Good Sunday morning! I hope that you have had a nice holiday season and are now ready to get back into the routine of things. Even though our Christmas break didn't seem very long, I'm ready to get back into a routine for a while!

It's the start of a new month and that means a new theme and a new set of challenges over on the Lasting Memories blog!  For January our theme is "New Beginnings", and for our first challenge we want you to - show us what you do that's NEW.  A new activity, sport, project, hobby, making a new friend...

I gotta say, I kind of struggled with this one. Having a son with autism, we just don't do a lot of new things! I think we're all stuck in the routine of things that Shane likes. Maybe that should be one of my goals for the new year - to make us get out and try new things once in a while!

Any way, after making one layout and realizing it would be better suited for one of the other challenges, I finally decided on this one. I guess rolling over for Ada (at the time) was a new activity for her!

Be sure to check out the Lasting Memories blog to see the layouts from the other design team members. I hope you can find some scrappy time to play along with our challenges this month!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

  1. Lori, I know what you mean. I have a son with autism as well and we rarely try new things. It can be such a struggle, but I think I will try more "smaller" new things this year with him. He has a board in his room of all the new things he has tried and conquered. I need to help him add to that! Anyways, your layout of Ada rolling over is darling! I love the tucked away tags and the mini arrows! And pink and brown is a great color combination!

  5. Love your layout and the cute pics of Ada turning over. Isn't it funny how once they figure it out they do it over and over and over. Can't wait to see your other layout too.

  6. Adorable layout and definitely something new for Ada! I loved all those 'new' baby stages! We have a lot of friends with kids with autism so I know what you mean. It's easier to keep evertyhing in a routine for them. Good luck with maybe trying some little 'new' things this year :)
