Sweet - Mixing the Kits With The ScrapRoom

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope that you are having a good day.

Today I am sharing the layout that I created for the September edition of the  Mixing the Kits post at The ScrapRoom. Here is a look at the kits that I used for my layout:

Patterned Paper Kit

Shots of Life Kit

For this month's layout, I also used the Freaky Fast Formula:

This is what I came up with:

I used a paper from Paige Evans' Bungalow Lane collection, a paper from Bella Blvd's You Are My Sunshine collection and the embellishments from Simple Stories' Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection. These three collections worked surprisingly well with each other!

For the Freaky Fast Formula - I used a doily from my stash for the 3 1/2 inch circle and punched my 1x12 strips with a scalloped border punch. Instead of a second photo (for the 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 measurement), I used one of the cut apart cards for my journaling. The Simple Stories die cuts and foam stickers were the perfect embellishments for this layout and using this formula made this layout come together so quickly!

Here are a couple of close ups:

I love the foam embellishments from Simple Stories that are in the embellishment kit. There's not a lot of yellow in the Bungalow Lane papers but it is there - and these embellishments were perfect to go along with my story.

The ScrapRoom - Mixing the Kits - Smile

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to my blog! I am so happy that you have stopped by today!

Today I am sharing the layout that I created for the "Mixing the Kits" post for The ScrapRoom blog. For my layout, I have used - the June portion of the Shots of Life kit, the Patterned Paper Add-on Kit, and the Embellishment kit:

All of these kits were still available the last time that I checked.

Here is my layout using all three of the above kits:

I absolutely love the My Minds Eye Gingham Foundry collection. The colors and patterns are so beautiful in this collection. I opted to use the more generic - more masculine - type papers and create a layout about my oldest son when he was three and a half years old. Just look at that sweet - powdered donut - smile!

The text on the background paper is the lyrics to the song 'What a Wonderful World' - which has special meaning to us. I did gut this paper so I could use the diamond pattern on the back to make my paper strips. I pulled several of the 3x4 journaling cards from the Shots of Life kit to serve as a frame, or mat, for my photo.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I think the birds are so cute in this collection!

Be sure to stop by The ScrapRoom blog every day of the week for more design team inspiration using the June kits.

Mixing the Kits with The ScrapRoom

Hello, everyone! Today I am sharing the layout I created for the "Mixing the Kits" post for The ScrapRoom. Here's a look at the kits that I have used:

Shots of Life Kit

Here is the layout that I created using the kits:

I mixed papers from Amy Tangerine's Brave and Bold collection and PhotoPlay's Crafting with my Gnomies from the patterned paper add-on kit. Both of these collections have such a fun feel to them and they were perfect to document these photos of Ada's new friend for the day - a turtle. She caught sight of this little guy traveling across our front yard and wouldn't let him out of her sight! I ran in and got my camera because she was just curious about him. I tried to get here to touch its shell but she was not about to do that! She was content to just watch it until it burrowed down in some leaves at the edge of the yard. It was a fun little afternoon adventure!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I used my metal circle die to cut out the 'so fun' circle from one of the cut apart cards from the Shots of Life kit, The 'hello there' strip was cut from one of the Maggie Holmes papers in the patterned paper kit.

I let the 'little moment big memories' foam sticker serve as my title for my layout. Everything on this layout came from the kits, except the black cardstock for the background and the doily.

I love how quickly this layout came together!

Smile - Mixing the Kits - The ScrapRoom

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

I am back today to share the layout that I created for the Mixing up the Kits feature at The ScrapRoom.

The ScrapRoom offers up a variety of fabulous kits each and every month. For my layout today I am using the May portion of the Shots of Life kit, the Patterned Paper Add-on kit, and the Embellishment kit. Here is a look at each of the kits:
May/June Shots of Life Kit

May Patterned Paper Add On Kit

May Embellishment Add On Kit
Here is my layout:

I thought all of the papers in the Patterned Paper Add-on kit worked so well together! I used the floral sheet from Simple Stories, the pink striped paper from Pebbles, and the yellow dot paper from Carta Bella. I also fussy cut several of the little butterflies from the other Pebbles paper to use as embellishments.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I just love those fussy cut butterflies! They were the perfect little touch that this layout needed!

I created a cluster using a few of the fussy cut butterflies, Carta Bella die cuts from the Shots of Life kit, and stickers from the Simple Stories sticker sheet in the Embellishment add-on kit.

The only things that I added from my stash were the navy background paper, the cream cardstock, the doily, the word sticker for the title, enamel dots, and gold shimmer mist.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Be sure to check out The ScrapRoom blog for more inspiration using this month's kits!

Have a great day!

The ScrapRoom Mixing up the Kits

Hello, everyone! I hope you all are doing okay.

Today I am sharing my "Mixing up the Kits" layout using the March portion of the Shots of Life kit, the March Patterned Paper Add-on kit, and the March Embellishment kit from The ScrapRoom. Here's a look at each of the kits:

Mar/April 2020 Shots of Life Kit

March 2020 Patterned Paper Add-on Kit

March 2020 Embellishment Kit

And here is my layout:

I loved the daffodils that can be found in the Echo Park "I Love Spring" collection and I immediately thought of these photos of my granddaughter from last spring. We had been outside all day and she couldn't resist picking a flower.

For my layout, I used the Echo Park patterned paper from the patterned paper add-on kit, the chipboard stickers from the embellishment kit, and the 12x12 sticker sheet and enamel dots from the Shots of Life kit.

Be sure to check out The ScrapRoom Blog for more inspiration for the March kits.
