TN Time With Lisa & Lori October Challenge

Happy Monday! It is a gorgeous fall day today and I am soaking up every bit of this warm weather that I can!

I can't believe that it is already time for the October challenge for TN Time With Lisa & Lori! It seems like it has been forever since I have worked on my traveler's notebooks and it was great to have a reason to get back to them.

Here is how our challenge works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my October Challenge:

Add a stamp to your traveler's notebook layout, bullet journal, or planner. It can be something as simple as a date stamp or something more - just as long as you use a stamp.

This is what I came up with:

I took this photo of Ada just last week. Our maple trees are turning such a pretty red - which is quite surprising seeing as how it's been so dry lately - we weren't expecting to get good color this year. She was all for taking photos and I know from experience that I had better get photos with the pretty leaves when I can because they sure don't last long!

For this layout, I used my October Stash Bash kit. Everything - including the stamps that I used - came from my kit. I was able to use most of a full 12x12 paper and quite a few scraps on this layout. This layout is an out-of-pocket layout and is going into my 2022 traveler's notebook.

I stamped my title directly onto the background page. I always find that a little daunting to stamp directly onto my layout but I am glad that I did it. I really hope to use my stamps more, especially in my traveler's notebooks, and that means I need to get over my fear of stamping directly on my layout. The more I do it the more comfortable I'll be with it, right?!

I added a few die-cut leaves that were still on my desk from a previous project and a couple of ephemera pieces from my kit to finish out the cluster. 

I fussy cut the squirrel - Ada's favorite animal at the moment - and punched out the "so stinkin' cute" pieces from one of the paper scraps. I found the "I love fall" piece in my ephemera pack, as well, and added it to the cluster.

I had to get creative with this bottom border. I originally had a piece of the same orange paper that is on the left page down for my border and I had even used glue on the ends to secure it. Then I took a good look at it and saw that it was crooked. Sometimes when this happens I will just leave it alone - especially since I had already used glue - but it was too crooked for me to ignore. And, of course, when I tried pulling it up it tore the background paper in a couple of places. I had already used all of that orange paper and I was not about to go searching for another scrap or full sheet to use. I found this orange border sticker on the sticker sheet and decided to just use it. You could still see a couple of torn places on the paper that the sticker did not cover so I added a stamped phrase and a couple more die-cut leaves to hide those spots and I am happy with how this turned out!

TN Time With Lisa & Lori April Challenge

 Hello, everyone! I am back with my second post of the day! Here I haven't posted anything new since the 1st and now you are getting two posts from me today!

It is time for the TN Time With Lisa & Lori April Challenge! We had to skip last month so it is good to get back on track! If you are new here and you don't know what it's all about - here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. All you need to do is add a sticker - or stickers - to your spread. Easy peasy!

And this is what I came up with:

I am back to working in my February 2022 TN - which I have changed to Ada's February 2022 TN - since I have enough photos of her from February to fill it up! I can always make another one of our family happenings, right?! I mean that is the fun of creating!

This photo is from our sleepover in February. We still had a little bit of ice and snow on the ground and Ada, Pops, and I had to get out and have a little fun in it! There were snowball fights, walking on the ice since the creek was still frozen over, and a bit of sledding down the creek bank. It's not a big hill and we didn't have a sled so we had to make do with a hillbilly sled, but Ada had so much fun that it didn't even matter. I snapped this photo of her, and guys, that smile is so genuine! She was loving every minute of it.

I did something a little different for this layout and used a spring/Easter line from Simple Stories (Bunnies & Blooms) for a snow layout. I took a cue from her outfit and used pink, purple, and light blue for my colors. When I saw the photo, my first thought was - what a cute little snow bunny - and that brought it all together.

To satisfy my challenge to use stickers on my spread, I used a bunny head sticker that I popped up on some low profile foam tape, lots of puffy stickers - mostly from Bunnies & Blooms, but I also used some snowflake puffy stickers from Feelin Frosty - and alpha stickers to spell out "snow bunny."

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I love those little blue alpha letters! I have the upper and lowercase alphabet metal dies from Impression Obsession and they are perfect for my TNs and Project Life albums. I also pulled out some stamps to add around my layout.

I think this little bunny puffy sticker is the cutest! I added some dots with a black marker instead of adding enamel dots around my spread.

TN Time with Lisa & Lori - August Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I do hope your week is off to a good start. Today we are kicking off the August edition of TN Time With Lisa & Lori.

Here's a little refresher on how this challenge works: this is a monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you combine my challenge with Lisa's sketch challenge - link up here and on Lisa's blog  - My Creative Endeavors - and you will have two chances to win a prize. Here is my challenge for August:

Just use at least 3 different patterned papers on your spread!

I used my August kit that I created for The Great Stash Bash. So far I have made one card and now two traveler's notebook layouts using my kit this month. Hopefully, I will be able to get a couple more projects done with this kit before the end of the month!

To meet my challenge of using at least 3 patterned papers - I have the background paper, a navy paper, the hearts paper, and the yellow dot paper. The "so very lovely" paper behind the photo and the quote square that I used were both from the cut apart cards.

This photo of Ada is one of my favorites that Abby sent me when they went to the little nature park not far from their house at the beginning of May. Ada just looks so cute in it! She definitely makes us all happy when skies are grey!

This spread is definitely on the busy side for me! I think that is why I love working in my TN's. I feel a little freer with what I do in them - and if I want to mix papers I wouldn't normally mix on a full 12x12 - then so be it!

Here are a few close-ups of my layout:

I had this little sun die-cut still on my desk that I had cut out for another layout and then didn't use. I thought it was perfect to go with my "My Sunshine" subtitle that I added along the side of the photo.

I felt like the quote card got lost on amongst the other papers so I just outlined it to help it stand out.
