TN Time With Lisa & Lori July Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are having a good weekend. After a brutally hot week last week, we had just a touch of a cool down yesterday - and a break in humidity - and we were able to open up the windows late yesterday afternoon and it was cool enough we were able to sleep with them open. It's been wonderful to wake up to the birds chirping and the cool - fresh air. I'm sure the air will be back on early today - we are supposed to hit 91 today - but I will take the fresh air as long as I can!

It is time for TN Time With Lisa & Lori's July challenge today. Here is how our challenge works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my July challenge:

For my July challenge, all you need to do is add a flower - or flowers - to your layout. This could be an embellishment or floral paper.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us to use:

And this is what I came up with - using both my challenge and Lisa's sketch:

For this month's layout, I am working on my 2022 Life Crafted album. Scott took this photo of Ada and me when we went to Bennett Spring. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun exploring the park. The water at the spring was so clear on this day and such a pretty turquoise blue.

I used scraps from my Lisa & Lori's Great Stash Bash Kit from February. I had included Cocoa Vanilla's These Days collection in that kit and the small floral scrap paper and mint green scrap paper were both in a page protector with the kit. I managed to use both sides of each scrap and am happy to say that I did not add any scraps back to the page protector!

To satisfy my challenge - I used floral paper and I fussy cut flowers from one of the other papers for my embellishments. I did use Lisa's sketch, I just changed the tag/pocket to a cut-apart card. I wasn't going to add any journaling - there's not too much that needs to be said - but now I think I will at least add where we were to the layout - probably in the white area of the left page.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I added foam tape behind the blue/green flower in this cluster and added a few puffy hearts around it.

And here it is in my album:

I love these albums and that you can add your layout directly into the album or you can slip your pages directly into page protectors.

Be sure to head on over to Lisa's beautiful blog - My Creative Endeavors - to see her take on this month's challenge. We hope you have a chance to play along with us this month!

Now, even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

1. Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.
2. Create a new, not previously posted project.
3. You are welcome to combine with other challenges.
4. If you have a blog please include the challenge graphic & a link to our challenge in your post.
5. You can link to social media if you don't have a blog. If you show your project on Instagram, please make sure to use #TNtimewithLisaandLori
6. You can submit multiple projects but they must be posted to InLinkz or social media separately.
7. Most importantly have FUN!

TN Time With Lisa & Lori June Challenge

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! It's another hot one around here. It looks like summer arrived a bit early this year and I don't mind a bit! I could do with a little less humidity but I can't really change it, so I will just go with it It makes the pool a delight to jump into!

It is time for TN Time With Lisa & Lori's June challenge! We are running a little behind this month but sometimes life just gets in the way of our hobbies! And it's better late than never, right?!

Before I get to the challenge, I want to say a big thank you to Kim for playing along with our May challenge!

Now,if you are new here and you don't know what this challenge is all about - here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my June challenge:

Just a label or a tab to your layout.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us to use this month:

And this is what I came up with:

I am back to working on Ada's School TN. My goal is to get all caught up on it before she starts 3rd grade in the fall. It's definitely doable - I just need to keep on it!

This is her last day of kindergarten picture. Kindergarten was such a hard year for her. She had never been away from her Mom and Dad or me and Pops and it was definitely an adjustment for her. Most days started with tears but more often than not they ended with smiles. She loved the work that she had to do - it was just the separation that was hard for her. And then the Pandemic hit and they went to remote learning on March 17th. I felt like she was cheated out of so many of the fun experiences a kindergartner gets to have. No field trip to the zoo, no kindergarten graduation, but I am so glad that she was safe at home!

I used Echo Park's First Day of School for this layout - I just stayed away from anything that said "First Day!" Since Ada has on a light blue shirt in the photo I picked out some of the blue papers in the collection and then accented my layout with green and red.

Here is a better look at the left-side page:

I die cut my title from the Impression Obsession metal dies. I die cut a few heats to scatter about, as well. To satisfy my challenge to use a label or a die, I added a label and layered a sticker over the top of it.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

The journaling on the tag is mostly what I included above. It's kind of the condensed version of everything I had to say. I figure if I have too much more to say that I can always add it to the pocket behind the tag.

Here is a close-up of the right page:

I added a tab with the date above the photo. I feel like labels and tabs and TN layouts just go hand in hand!

Be sure to head on over to Lisa's beautiful blog - My Creative Endeavors - to see her take on this month's challenge.

TN Time With Lisa & Lori April Challenge

Hello, everyone! I am back with my second post of the day! Here I haven't posted anything new since the 1st and now you are getting two posts from me today!

It is time for the TN Time With Lisa & Lori April Challenge! We had to skip last month so it is good to get back on track! If you are new here and you don't know what it's all about - here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my challenge for April:

All you need to do is add a sticker - or stickers - to your spread. Easy peasy!

Here is the awesome sketch that Lisa has created for us to use:

And this is what I came up with:

I am back to working in my February 2022 TN - which I have changed to Ada's February 2022 TN - since I have enough photos of her from February to fill it up! I can always make another one of our family happenings, right?! I mean that is the fun of creating!

This photo is from our sleepover in February. We still had a little bit of ice and snow on the ground and Ada, Pops, and I had to get out and have a little fun in it! There were snowball fights, walking on the ice since the creek was still frozen over, and a bit of sledding down the creek bank. It's not a big hill and we didn't have a sled so we had to make do with a hillbilly sled, but Ada had so much fun that it didn't even matter. I snapped this photo of her, and guys, that smile is so genuine! She was loving every minute of it.

I did something a little different for this layout and used a spring/Easter line from Simple Stories (Bunnies & Blooms) for a snow layout. I took a cue from her outfit and used pink, purple, and light blue for my colors. When I saw the photo, my first thought was - what a cute little snow bunny - and that brought it all together.

To satisfy my challenge to use stickers on my spread, I used a bunny head sticker that I popped up on some low profile foam tape, lots of puffy stickers - mostly from Bunnies & Blooms, but I also used some snowflake puffy stickers from Feelin Frosty - and alpha stickers to spell out "snow bunny."

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I love those little blue alpha letters! I have the upper and lowercase alphabet metal dies from Impression Obsession and they are perfect for my TNs and Project Life albums. I also pulled out some stamps to add around my layout.

I think this little bunny puffy sticker is the cutest! I added some dots with a black marker instead of adding enamel dots around my spread.

TN Time With Lisa & Lori January 2022 Challenge

Hello, hello! Happy Monday to you! I hope that you had a good weekend. We had a nice quiet weekend and I was able to spend some time in my scrap room. I haven't quite gotten back into my scrappy routine yet, so it was good to get in there and get some things done.

I am so excited that Lisa and I are back with our TN challenge for the new year! This is one of my favorite challenges to do each month. If you don't know what it's all about - here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CT. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my challenge for January:

For my challenges this year, I will be challenging you to use a stash item on your spread, and for January that item is enamel dots/shapes.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us to use:

And this is what I came up with:

I am back to working in my 2021 52 Favorites TN and this spread is for Week 2. Yeah, I don't have very many spreads made in this TN yet and I thought it was time to show it some love. I also wanted to use some of the Simple Stories Feeling Frosty collection that I had included in my January Stash Bash kit.

I love this photo of Ada throwing a snowball at Abby. Abby snapped the photo at just the right time to see the snowball coming at her - and just look at that smile on Ada's face. Too cute!

Here are a few close-ups:

I stamped my week number using Elle's Studio Mini Days of the Week stamp. This is one of my favorite stamp sets to use in my 52 Week Favorites TN's and in my Project Life albums. It gets a lot of use!

I am so happy that I made it a point to use washi tape on this spread! I think I need to pull a roll or two out every time I work on a layout and add it somewhere! I always love the look and I really need to get some of it used up!

I love the snowflake die cuts and stickers that are in this Feeling Frosty collection. There's a snowflake stamp just like the die-cut above in the stamp set - which I totally forgot to pull out - so I am sure I will be showing it lots of love when I need a snowflake!

The label is the only thing that was not included in my stash bash kit.

I love it when I can use stickers from the sticker sheet to make my title - so quick and easy! I added in a few small snowflake stickers around my title.

One more spread done for 2021! Here's to getting many more done this year!

Even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

1. Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.
2. Create a new, not previously posted project.
3. You are welcome to combine with other challenges.

TN Time With Lisa & Lori - September Edition

Hello, everyone! Happy Friday to you! We have made it to the weekend once again. It looks like it is going to be a hot one around here so maybe we will get one more swim in before the pool is put to bed until next summer.

It is time for the September edition of  TN Time With Lisa & Lori! Here is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my September challenge:

Just use the color mint green on your spread and add a doily.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us:

And this is what I created:

Since school just started back up a couple of weeks ago it got me to thinking that I wanted to make Ada a school traveler's notebook. I will make the same type of layout for every school year - 1st day, her school photo, spring photos (as long as they take them), and last day of school. At the most there will be four layouts for each school year. I figured I'd better get started before I get too far behind! I hope to get caught up before we get to far into this school year. She's already a second grader so I am looking at eight more layouts to get caught up.

For this layout, I used the kit that I made up for this month's Great Stash Bash kit. Even though this TN will be all school related photos, I did not want to go overboard with only using school themed papers and embellishments.

I have been hoarding holding onto this multi-colored scalloped lined paper - just waiting for the perfect layout. I am so happy to get it on a layout and I still have a good chunk of the paper left. Let's see if  it shows up again before the end of the month! I also used the solid mint green paper from a Dear Lizzy paper pad. It matched the mint green in the Simple Stories paper perfectly.

Here are a few close-ups:

This "hello" rubber embellishment has been floating around my room for a while and I had added it to my stash bash kit in hopes of using it this month. It was perfect for this layout. Since I have trouble getting these rubber embellishments to stay adhered, I stapled it in a couple of places onto the photo mat before I stuck it down to the layout. I also managed to get the last two of those  floral embellishments used on this layout.

I felt like I needed a little more yellow at the top of my layout, so I found three word stickers that worked and they were the same colors as the scalloped stripes on the opposite page. That helped me to get that little bit of yellow at the top that I wanted.

The only things that I used on this layout that I did not include in my stash bash kit are the white enamel dots and a couple of stamps. For the lines on my layout I used the Noted stamp set from Elle's Studio and the little plus signs are from Close To My Heart's Simple Florals (Z3724) stamp set. I have got to remember to pull my stamps out more when I am working on a layout. I always love the way they look.

I am so excited to work on this traveler's notebook and hopefully be able to stay caught up on it!

Be sure to stop by Lisa's blog to see her beautiful layout for this challenge. I hope you have some time to play along with us. I would love to see what you create!

Even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

TN Time With Lisa & Lori - August Challenge

Hello, hello! Happy Tuesday to all of you! I hope that your week is off to a good start.

It is time for the August TN Time With Lisa & Lori challengeHere is how it works - this is a just-for-fun monthly challenge that starts on the 10th of each month and ends on the 9th of the following month at midnight CST. If you complete my random challenge for the month - link your TN, bullet journal, or planner spread below. If you complete just Lisa's sketch challenge, link up over on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine both challenges - be sure to link up on both Lisa's blog and here on my blog.

Here is my August challenge:

Just use the color pink on your layout and add at least one sticker to your layout.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us to use:

And this is what I came up with:

For my layout, I have used papers and embellishments that I included in my August stash bash kit. The papers are all from Bella Blvd. To satisfy my part of the challenge I have used the color pink throughout my layout and I have used a flower sticker and several chipboard stickers.

This photo of Ada is from just a couple of weeks ago. She and Abby had come over for a visit and they were getting ready to leave. When Ada put on her new sunglasses she just looked so cute - and so grown up!

Here are a couple of close-ups:

These little yellow alpha stickers were not in my stash bash kit. I wanted to bring a bit of the yellow over to this side of the spread and these little guys fit the bill!  They have been floating around in my stash for a while and it feels good to good a few more letters off of the sheet and on a layout!

I also punched a few hearts to scatter around my spread.

I finally got a couple of those old Gossamer Blue chipboard stickers on a layout! I have added these stickers into a number of my past kits and never managed to use them. (Mostly because I am hoarding them!) I am glad I was able to put them on this spread!

It feels good to get another layout added to my July 2021 traveler's notebook!

I do hope that you have some time to play along with us this month! Be sure to stop by Lisa's blog to see her beautiful spread, too.

Even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

TN Time With Lisa & Lori - July Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope you have had a good week. Scott was on vacation this past week and we got a few projects around the house done. We also puppy sat our "grandpuppy" while Abby's family went on a little getaway. It was fun to have a puppy in the house again but I am so glad it was only for a few days! You forget how much work a puppy truly is!

It is time for the July TN Time With Lisa & Lori challenge. Now, on to the challenge.

Here is my July challenge:

For July my challenge is to use the color red and/or blue - your choice - on your layout and add a star - or stars - to your layout. The star(s) can be an embellishment, in the paper, etc.

Here is the fabulous sketch that Lisa has created for us:

This is my layout:

Since we just celebrated the 4th of July, I had to scrap a photo of Ada with her sparkler. She had a special sparkler that was in the shape of a heart - and that thing put off a lot of "sparkles!" Ada wasn't too sure about it and eventually handed it off to her mom, but that look on her face, while she was holding it, was priceless!

I used Simple Stories' - Stars, Stripes, & Sparklers for this layout. I had included this mini-collection in my "Collective" to work with this summer.

Here are a few close-ups:

I loved this little word phrase and thought it could not be any more perfect for this photo!

I am so happy that I was able to ger one of these little flags on my spread. It's from a tiny pack of flags from Jolee's Boutique. The date on the package says 2002...I'm not sure if they have been in my stash that long, but I'm guessing it's close. I think I have three left before they are all gone. Maybe if I can get another 4th of July layout made, I can get them - and this mini collection - used up this month.

I hope that you have some time to play along with us this month! Be sure to stop by Lisa's blog to see her beautiful spread, too.

Even though this is a just-for-fun challenge we do have a few rules:

1.Create a TRAVELER'S NOTEBOOK, PLANNER, OR BULLET JOURNAL spread based on the CHALLENGE THEME and/or our sketch.
2.Create a new, not previously posted project.

TN Time With Lisa & Lori June Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you and thank you so much for visiting my blog today! I do hope that you are having a good weekend. Ours has been very full with lots of family time and fun. Today is looking to be a bit quieter - which is just what we need to finish off the weekend and get ready for the week ahead.

It is time for the June TN Time With Lisa & Lori Challenge. Now, on to the challenge.

Here is my June challenge:

For June, my challenge is to use the color yellow on your spread - how much or how little is up to you - and to add a circle to your spread. This could be a punched/die cut circle, circle chipboard, a sticker, enamel dots, etc.

Here is the fun sketch that Lisa has created for us:

This is the layout that I created:

Let me just start this by saying that the photo I chose to use for my spread was not the best to use once I edited the photo of my spread! Abby took this photo of Ada last summer on a bright sunny day. The original looks a little washed out at the top of the photo and no matter how much I try to edit it - I just can't get it right. It's such a good photo of Ada and in person, it really isn't as bad as what it looks like in the photo above. Here's a look at just the photo:

Not nearly as bad as the layout shows. Maybe one day I'll learn how to edit better!

Now, about the spread. I used papers from a couple of different Echo Park collections - Echo Park's #selfie collection, and Teen Spirit Girl collection. I thought the bokeh background paper looked like Ada's shirt and I tried to cut my paper where there was at least a little bit of yellow showing. To get a little more yellow on my spread, I matted my photo and journaling box with yellow,  I used my yellow acetate alphas from Elle's Studio, a chipboard sun, and puffy stickers and hearts.

The journaling reads - Abby and Shawn took Ada to Nathaniel Greene park for a fun carefree day before school started. With everything still being shut down due to the pandemic - it was somewhere they could go and still social distance. I love this photo of Ada. She looks so happy and ready to conquer the world.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

I punched a couple of circles from one of the papers to create a few more circle embellishments, and I love these acetate alphas from Elle's Studio!

All of the embellishments came from Elle's Studio. They matched so well with the Echo Park papers.

Be sure to stop by Lisa's blog to see her beautiful spread. I hope you have some time to play along with us this month!

3.You are welcome to combine with other challenges.
