Stick It Down October Card Reveal

Hello everyone! Happy Monday to you! I am running a bit behind this morning, so let's get started. Today is the full reveal for the card team at Stick It Down. Here's a reminder of what the sketch - courtesy of Laura Rumble- looks like:

For my card I embossed the background with a snowflake embossing folder, matted it on a piece of silver glitter paper, and then matted that onto the card base. I created the "Let it snow" circle on my computer and added in the silver glitter snowflake.

This is such a fun sketch and has lots of possibilities! I am sure I will use it again!

Be sure to stop by Stick It Down to see what the rest of the design team did with this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

PDE Linky Party Ch #141

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Monthly Schedule

Today is the first Friday of the month and that means a new challenge is up at PDE Linky Party. This week's challenge is:

Ch #141 - Anything Goes

I have created a thank you card using Dear Lizzy's Polka Dot Party 6x6 paper pad. I love this color combination, and this paper from the pad really did all the work for me! I just added a little bit of black grosgrain ribbon down the line!

I based this card off of this sketch that I found here.

Check out the PDE Linky Party blog and see the projects from the rest of the design team. I do hope that you play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Sketch N Scrap Flashback Friday

Hello! Happy Friday! Can you believe we are already back around to the weekend?! At this rate the holidays will be here before we know it - at least for me!

In honor of World Card Making Day, we at Sketch N Scrap are celebrating all month long with a special treat for you each Friday. This first Friday is Flashback Friday, and we are taking you back to our very first card sketch!

I love the simplicity and the timelessness of this sketch. It is one that can be used over and over and never get old.

For my card I used Pink Paislee's Pen Pals 6x6 paper pad. The typewriter and sentiment are from Close To My Heart - Share the Love (CC1060) stamp set. I was going to add something in the bottom right corner like it shows in the sketch, but the paper is so busy and it just seemed to get lost.

Stop by Sketch N Scrap to see how the rest of the design team used this throwback sketch. I look forward to seeing what you create with it, too! Stay tuned because next Friday we will be bringing you another special treat!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I'll be back a little later with another project to share with you!

It's The Most Wonderful Time...

Hello everyone! I hope your Wednesday is going good! Shane gets out of school early today, so I thought I would do a quick card share with you before I needed to pick him up.

I am still working on getting some Christmas cards made, and when I saw this week's challenge at Christmas Card Challenges it inspired me to get another card done! Their challenge this week is a photo challenge:

When I saw all the red and white with just a touch of green color scheme, I knew I wanted to use the new Doodlebug - Here Comes Santa - collection. The striped paper reminded me of the candy canes, and the bits of green on the sticker reminded me of the bits of green in the challenge photo.

If you're looking to get going on your Christmas cards, be sure to check out Christmas Card Challenges - their challenges are always anything goes with an optional challenge. More often than not I like to use their challenge prompt to get me going!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great one!

Another Holiday Card

Hello everyone! How is your week going so far? Mine has been surprisingly busy, but in all good ways!

I have another holiday card to share with you today! For some reason I have really been in the mood to make Christmas cards, so you'll being seeing quite a few of them in the months to come! When I saw the sketch this week at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. Here's a look at their sketch:

I used the 6x6 "A Very Merry Christmas" paper pad from The Paper Studio for this card. I love the snowflakes on the light grey background with a little pop of red. The snowflake is from "Snowflakes A Plenty" from Inkadinkado, and the sentiment is another never before used Studio G $1 stamp.

I'm really trying to keep my cards a little on the flatter side for mailing. It's hard sometimes to not add a little gem or enamel dot to help finish it off!

Be sure to check out 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. They have a fun new challenge posted every Saturday!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #180

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you're looking for my Try Stampin' - Or Not - On  Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a new sketch posted and I have created another Christmas card for it.

For this card I used a couple of different paper pads from The Paper Studio, A Very Merry Christmas and Christmas Basics. I picked these paper pads up a couple of weeks ago at Hobby Lobby and I love them! I'm sure the majority of my Christmas cards will be made using these paper pads.

For the tree I used and old stamp set from Close To My Heart (D1315 - Evergreen). I have had this stamp set in my stash for years, and I think this was only the third time that I have actually used it! I did use it this past weekend on a card for WCMD. (I will share the cards that I made on Saturday a little later this week.) It seems to be the stamp that I am going to for my Christmas cards this year, so I'm sure you'll be seeing it again! The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from Fancy Pants' "Happy Holiday" - another stamp set that has been neglected!

Stop by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog to see the sketch and read the rules. Last week's Top 3 and the full design team reveal will be on the blog tomorrow!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #291

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a good start! I am still trying to get used to our new routine around the house...it's taking some time, but I do believe things are getting easier!

We have a new sketch posted at Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday today. This month we are kicking off our "Getting ready for the holidays" and our cards need to be holiday cards. The optional technique for this first sketch is "weaving".

Here's the sketch:

I turned the sketch half a turn and added a full strip behind the sentiment panel, but other than that I stuck pretty close to the sketch. I would have really liked to have stamped my sentiment in red, but none of my red ink pads were cooperating! They were either the wrong shade of red or dried up! I think I need to invest in a new red ink pad!

Head on over to the Try Stampin' blog to see the cards from the rest of the design team. We hope you play along with us and get a head start on your Christmas cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope that you have a great day!

Star Spangled Cutie - Make It Monday #73 @ The Memory Nest

Hello, hello! Happy Monday! I hope that you had a good weekend! This weekend seemed to go by super fast for me...I guess I was enjoying spending time with the family!

We have a great new sketch posted over at The Memory Nest today! This fabulous sketch was created by Leslie!

I dug into my Basic Grey drawer to find papers for this layout of Ada on the 4th of July weekend. Bless her heart, she was just getting over strep throat and she still did not feel well at all. One minute she would be happy and giggling, and the next minute she would be whining and crying! Poor thing wanted to feel good, she just couldn't for very long!

Head on over to The Memory Nest to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the team! I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Hello Fall - Lasting Memories #313

Hi guys! I hope that you are having a good weekend! For all you card makers out there - did you get a lot of cards made yesterday for World Card Making Day? I did not get nearly as many done as I had hoped, but I do plan to do a few more today.

We have a new challenge up today at Lasting Memories. Since it's the start of a new month that means we have a new theme and a new set of challenges. For October our theme is - "All About Fall" and our first challenge of the month is - Fall Color Challenge - use browns, oranges, and reds on your layout. Neutrals are okay, too!

This is one of my favorite photos of Ada from last year. We had a little family get together at Scott's Mom and Dad's, and she just looked so cute in her boots, leggings, and denim shirt! She is definitely a fall time fashionista!

I used the beautiful Simple Stories Hello Fall collection. I think I could have multiple sheets of each paper in this collection and never get tired of it. I love the patterns, and the colors are just so pretty!

I used this sketch from My Creative Sketches - the perfect sketch to show off a lot of different paper!

Be sure to check out My Creative Sketches - they post a new sketch every month on the 16th, and they always have an awesome prize!

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the team. I hope you find some time to play along with us! I am offering up the prize for October:

Sketch N Scrap #114

Hello, hello! Happy October 1st (can you believe that?!) and happy World Card Making Day! We've got a busy day ahead of us so let's get started.

The first day of the month means a new  sketch is up at Sketch N Scrap! This fabulous sketch was created for us by Heather.

I have made a layout of me and Miss Ada. I am so thankful that she is so agreeable to take selfies with me - otherwise I might never be in any photos!

I used Maggie Holmes Bloom collection and that border punch - well, I have had it for years and I think this is the first time I have even used it! And I love it! My embellishments came from a pack of American Crafts Remarks stickers that I got at Hobby Lobby.

Stop by the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the lovely layouts from the rest of the design team.

Don't forget - our World Card Making Day challenges are on the Sketch N Scrap Facebook page. Be sure to stop by and play along. We have three fun challenges and a great prize to give away!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy a crafty day!
