Perfectly Created Chaos Challenge #8

Hello, hello! This is my second post of the day, so if you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

I have some really exciting news to share with you! I am a member of the Perfectly Created Chaos design team! I just found Dori's blog not too long ago, and I am so excited to be a part of her team! We will be bringing you a couple of fun challenges throughout the month, so be sure to visit Perfectly Created Chaos and become a follower so you don't miss a thing!

The first challenge for January is "Texture". This can be texture paste, embossing or crinkling of paper, etc. - just anything to add texture.

For my card I have used texture paste by Ranger, and an adhesive backed heart stencil from Firefly to create the background of my card. I then die cut a heart using a heart die from Lawn Fawn. The Happy Valentine's Day sentiment is from an old Studio G $1 bin set that I have had forever. Both the heart and the sentiment are popped up on some foam tape for a little bit more dimension.

I purchased this texture paste back before Christmas and I have been playing around with it now and then, and I really like it! It is so easy to work with and the finished look is just so cool!

Please head on over and check out the Perfectly Created Chaos blog to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the team. I do hope you'll join the fun and play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #89

Hello everyone! I hope that you are all doing well today! I have a couple of projects to share with you today, so let's get started!

We have the first card sketch of the new year up over at Sketch N Scrap today! Heather has created a fun sketch using my favorite things - big banners and a circle!

For my card I have used my new favorite collection at the moment - Simple Stories "Posh" 6x6 paper pad. The pinkish background is actually from Fancy Pants' "Golden Days" collection, but it is a perfect match.

The "Hello" circle die cut is from my stash. I have had it for quite a while and cannot remember where it came from. I stamped the "friend" banner piece with Close To My Heart's "Hello Life Card making" stamp set (CC1041).

Once I decided which papers to use this card came together really quickly and I love the way it turned out!

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you're able to join us this month! There is a fun prize being offered up, so play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Paper Play Sketches #29 - A Little Birdie Told Me...

Hello everyone! Happy Hump Day! Here we are already at the middle of the week. We are - or maybe I should say, I am - desperately trying to get back into the whole school/work routine. I think I need routine to keep myself on track. Too many days of doing whatever we want, whenever we want, and then the old routine is a shock to the system!

Paper Play Sketches has a new sketch up today, and it is a great one to start off the year!

If you have followed my blog for any length of time, then you know I am trying to use up my stash! I have way too much, yet I keep on buying, so it's a never ending process! For this card I pulled out an old, more than half used up, 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye, and I used up a couple more sheets of it! That's progress, right? Well, I did get four more 6x6 paper pads in the mail yesterday... so maybe not! I will work on that in this new year!

Anyway, everything on this card is from the My Mind's Eye - Quite Contrary - Jack and Jill collection. The little quote was a cut a part card, die cut piece, I can't remember what exactly they were called way back when, but it's from the same collection. When I bought the paper pad I really didn't think I would ever use that birdie paper, but it found its way onto this card, and I think the other piece might just be cut down to a project life style card for later use! The more I look at it, the more I like it!

Be sure to stop by Paper Play Sketches and see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you followed the blog so you don't miss a single sketch, and why don't you play along with us?!

That's it for now! Thank you all so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantastic day!

Die Cuttin' Divas GDT

Hello everyone! I hope that your week is off to a good start! It is back to school, and back to the old routine for us today!

Today is such an exciting day for me! I am the guest designer over at Die Cuttin' Divas today! I was thrilled and quite honored when Georgiana asked me!

Their first challenge of the new year is a sketch challenge and it is a great one! The only other requirement to play along is to have a die cut on your card.

For my card I used more of Echo Parks "I Love Winter" 6x6 paper pad. This may be the fastest that I have ever used up a 6x6 paper pad! I have just a few full sheets and just a few scraps left. If feels really good to be using it up instead of letting it set!

I die cut the snowflake from My Favorite Things "Let It Snowflake" die, and it's impossible to see in the photo, but I brushed the entire snowflake with my Wink Of Stella to add a little sparkle.

The sentiment is from Studio G - and one that I have used a lot already - and I die cut the circle using a Spellbinder circle die.

Thanks so much to Georgiana and the team at Die Cuttin' Divas for having me as their guest designer this week! Be sure to check out their blog and play along!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Make It Monday #79 - Cutie Pie

Hello everyone! Here we are back at Monday again! Most everyone still has today off from work, but my daughter has to go in for a teacher work day, which means I have Miss Ada with me today! I love my days off, but it's nice to get back into a routine!

Today is Make It Monday #79 over at The Memory Nest. Leslie has created another fun sketch for us to work with for this first sketch of the new year.

When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of this piece of chevron paper that I had in my stash. I altered it up a bit to make it more to my liking.  I cut out each chevron individually - one because I didn't care for the orange-y yellow in it, and two, I really didn't want that brownish grey pattern on it. I cut it off of each color and then put it all back together, leaving out the color I didn't want.

These photos are of Ada when she was 7 months old and teething. I loved it when she would suck that bottom lip in and smile!

I added in a few chipboard stickers from a Project Life sticker set.m The photos seemed to get lost on the page with just the mint green mat, so I matted them again in black to help them stand out, and I matted the entire layout on black.

Be sure to stop by The Memory Nest to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the team. We hope you join us in the new year!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Christmas Card Challenges #3

Hello again! I am back with my last post of the day...I think! If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here. For my Love To Craft Challenge Blog reveal, please scroll down or go here. For my Stick It Down reveal, please scroll down or go here. For my Lasting Memories reveal, please go here.

It has been a busy day around here! What a great way to start off the new year!

We have a new challenge up over at Christmas Card Challenges today. As always our rules are to create a holiday or Christmas card. We offer up an optional challenge if you need a little help with inspiration. Our optional challenge this week is a color challenge.

Now that I look at the color challenge photo and my card, the colors look a little off, but you get the idea. I used mostly the brown tones instead of the grayish brown tones.

I kept this card pretty simple, just embossing the background panel, and using a stamped image. For Christmas I usually stick to the reds and the greens for colors, so it was fun to step out of my comfort zone and do a different color, and I really like it!

Head on over to Christmas Card Challenges to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the team. I hope you get a chance to get some holiday cards made up ahead of time this new year by playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Lasting Memories #325 - Punches

Hello, hello! I am back with my fourth post of the day! If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, you can scroll down or go here. For my Love To Craft reveal, please go here. For my Stick It Down reveal, please go here.

It's a brand new year of themes and challenges at Lasting Memories! This year the design team was asked to pick a month and come up with a theme and  the challenges for that month. I chose to do January and our theme for the month is "Stash Busting"! We will concentrate on a few forgotten items in our stash to work on getting them used up in January.

The first challenge of the month is "Punches" - pull out those punches and put them to use! You can use border punches, shape punches, any type of punch. And if you don't have any punches, then you can use die cuts or ephemera pieces on your layout.

For my layout I have used Imaginisce's "Welcome Spring" papers. I do not know why I chose to use the some what diagonal stripe for the background - it always makes things look crooked! I assure you they are straight! I used my handy dandy ruler to make sure of it!

For the punch challenge I used a scalloped border punch, a notebook edge punch, and a label punch, all from EK Success. The blue alphas are from K & Company, and the black glitter alphas are from EK Success.  I added in a birthday cake sticker from Echo Park's Fine and Dandy line, too. The colors really match better than they look like in this photo.

I based my layout off of this November 2016 sketch from Pagemaps:

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the layouts from the rest of the design team. I hope you get the chance to play along with us in 2017!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with one more project to share.

Stick It Down January Reveal

Hello everyone! This is my third post of the day! If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please go here. If you are looking for my Love To Craft reveal, please go here.

The first of the month means a new set of sketches is up at Stick It Down today. I am the featured card designer for January, so my card is up on the blog today!

Here's a look at the card sketch, courtesy of the talented Laura Rumble:

For my card I have used Studio Calico's Seven Paper - "Amelia" 6x6 paper pad. I picked this paper pad up at Tuesday Morning a few months ago, and I fell in love with the colors in this collection.

I die cut five circles for my scalloped edge and then decided to let them hang over the edge of the card. The heart is from a Lawn Fawn die that I cut out of two different papers. I cut one of the hearts in half and layered it on top, along with a strip of the black and white pattern. The "I Adore You" sentiment is from Jen Hadfield's "Homemade" stamps set. I finished it off by placing a piece of black and white fabric tape that I found at Target's $1 spot down the edge. I wanted to bring in just a bit more black and white, and this tape was perfect for that. I also added in a bit of silver metallic thread behind the heart embellishment.

Be sure to stop by Stick It Down and check out all of the sketches for January. We have a great set of sketches for this month, and I hope you get a chance to play along with us.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Love To Craft Challenge Blog Challenge #6

Hello again! I am back again with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Today is my very first reveal for Love To Craft Challenge Blog! If you haven't checked them out, you need to! Every single challenge is Anything Goes, and you can link up any type of craft at all. It is a great place to get a lot of inspiration.

For my first reveal I have made a card.

I have used Fancy Pants' Golden Days 6x6 paper pad for this card. I really love the colors in this paper pad. I know that it is more of a fall collection, but they are some of my favorite colors, and I think the majority of the papers would work for anything.

For the sentiment I used Close To My Heart's Hello, Life - Cardmaking (CC1041), and I based my card off of this sketch from Cardz TV - I just rotated the sketch to make it work for me.

Head on over to Love To Craft Challenge Blog to see the gorgeous projects from the rest of this amazingly talented team. You have until the end of the month to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back with another project in just a few!

Sketch N Scrap #120

Hello everyone! Happy New Year to you! Today is going to be a very busy day on my blog, so let's get started!

We have a fabulous new sketch up over at Sketch N Scrap today. Lisa has created a fun sketch for the first sketch of 2017.

I have had these Bella Blvd papers in my stash for a year or two, and I have always wanted to use that reindeer paper, but I never really had anything that would go with it. Until this year, and I wouldn't have imagined that I would use it on a page about my grown son!

This year when we were decorating the Christmas tree, Matthew came across this hand print reindeer ornament that he had made in second grade. When he laid it on his hand, it was crazy to see just how much he has grown in 11 years! You know your kids are growing and getting bigger every day, but to really see the difference of his hand when he was seven, compared to his 18 year old hand, was just unreal, and it makes me happy that I have this reminder of his little seven year old hand!

Everything on this layout is from Bella Blvd's Christmas Cheer or Make It Merry collections, except the background paper and it is from Crate Paper. I added in a couple of enamel hearts from Doodlebug Designs, and an enamel dot from Simple Stories.

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. I hope you are able to start the year off on a scrappy note and join us in our monthly sketch challenges this year!

I will be back very soon with another project to share with you, so stay tuned, it's going to be busy around here today!
