You & Me - The Studio Challenges - Color Challenge

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you.

It's time for a new challenge at The Studio Challenges today. This week we have a color challenge for you:

This is what I came up with:

The colors that I chose for my layout are a bit brighter than those in the graphic, but I love the way they all look together. I used a dark wood grain matted on a piece of kraft cardstock for my background. I had watched a process video earlier in the week that had rows of hearts on the background and that is where I got the inspiration for this layout. My hubby and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary next week and I thought this design would be great for a layout about us!

With all of the different colored hearts on this layout, I kept my embellishing to a minimum. I added in a few enamel dots and typed up a couple of phrases that I felt was fitting and that was it. I did try a few other things but I just felt like it made my layout look too cluttered - at least for my liking.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Head on over to The Studio Challenges to see the wonderful layouts from Helen and Michelle. I would love to see your take on the color challenge, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

  2. Lori: Great layout! "Tied together" could be another little sentiment phrase for your layout!, which you symbolically show with the twine wrapping ends tied in a bow!!! Early congrats for your #30 milestone!
