Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #214

Hello again!

I am popping in here really quickly to share this week's sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge with you - it's another great one with lots of possibilities!

I have used Echo Park's "Sunny Days Ahead" 6x6 paper pad for this card. The balloon die is from Paper Smooches and the sentiment is from Art C.

I really wanted to make a project life style card using this sketch, but I just ran out of time. I think this sketch would have been perfect for that!

The full design team reveal will be up on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow, along with last week's Top 3. I hope you have some time to play along with us this week. We love to see your creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great one!

Sketch N Scrap's 5th Birthday Bash Sketch #5

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

We have been celebrating Sketch N Scrap's 5th birthday all month long on the blog and on our Facebook events page. Today we are sharing our last exclusive sketch of the month and it is a fun one!

I love these photos of Ada from last summer! Those rosy red cheeks and that smile...she was having so much fun hanging and swinging from the tree limbs!

I have used Illustrated Faith's - She Blooms - collection for this layout. I broke out of my comfort zone and actually used a patterned paper for my base - that doesn't happen very often for me, but it is getting easier for me to do!

The title is a mix of alpha stickers from Bella Blvd and the tiny letters are stamped and cut out individually using a stamp set from Close To My Heart  - B1416 - Keyboard Uppercase. This is my favorite alphabet stamp by far!

The "happy" transparency frame is from an rak that I received, and I have no idea where it is from. I've had it out on my desk to get used on a layout for quite a while, so I'm glad it worked on this layout!

Head on over to the Sketch N Scrap Facebook events page to play along with us! You have until June 2nd to play along for a chance at a fun prize!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #324

Hello, hello! I hope you had a good weekend! I am trying to get back into the routine again after our long weekend, and trying to get into a good summertime routine!

We have a great new sketch posted today at Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday. This week's sketch is courtesy of Kaylin and our optional theme is "shades of one color".

For my card, I  have used all Close To My Hearts products.  The paper is from the "Some Kind Of Wonderful" collection (I just love this green and gray together!), the sentiment is A1189 - Short and Sweet Sentiments - and a little piece of white shimmer tape. I also added in a few of their white "dots".

I love the way this card came together! Nice and quick and easy!

Head on over to Try Stampin' to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team.  You have two weeks to play along and can enter either on the blog or on our Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday Facebook page. I hope you have some time to play along with us!

Use Your Stuff Summer Fun 2017 Blog Hop

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! We are enjoying a long holiday weekend here in the US, and after the wild weather we had this weekend, we needed an extra day!

We have a great way to get the week started with a fun blog hop at Use Your Stuff, so let's get to it!

Welcome to the SUMMER FUN blog hop at Use Your Stuff!

Summer is just about here and the ladies of Use Your Stuff are excited and wanting to share some hot summer projects using our stash! We hope that these projects inspire you to create your own fun summer scrapping projects!

The Blog Hop will run from May 29th until June 4th. You have all week to hop along and see what we have created for you.

Hop along with us for a chance to win this great prize pack:

Here are the rules for the hop:

1. You must leave a comment on each Design Team members blog

2. You have from May 29th until June 4th 8pm EST to enter. Winner will be announced on June 6th on the blog.

3. Create and link up your own summer project for an additional chance to win using the link on the blog.

4. International scrappers welcome.

You should have arrived here from Heather's beautiful blog. If not, you may want to start back at the beginning at the Use Your Stuff blog and go from there. I also have a list of all of the participants at the end of this post.

Today, I have created a fun summertime layout of two of my kiddos when they were little ones!

I can't believe that this photo is 16 years old and never been scrapped! We used to go to the lake about once a month in the summer when the kids were little, to swim and have a picnic, and occasionally camp out overnight. Now we're lucky if we go once a year! So many fun memories from these little trips!

I had these papers from a few different Echo Park collections on my desk from a project I will be sharing a little later this week, and I decided to try and get as many of the scraps used up on this layout instead of putting them in my scrap pile. I'm happy to say that I used up what was left of the blue and the yellow, and I only have a little piece of the green left!

I decided to add a few paint splatters to my layout to add in a little more of the green. Just as is my luck, I smeared a couple of the splatters before they were dry. I almost tore the whole layout apart to start over, but I decided to embrace the imperfections and just go with it. My family will not care that there are a couple of smeared dots, so why should I stress over it?

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!  Now, hop on over to Tina's blog to see what she has created for you today!

Here is the list for the hop in case you want to stop along the way or get lost:

Paper Play Sketches #43

Hello hello! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today!

It's the middle of the week and that means there is a new sketch posted over Paper Play Sketches today.

I knew I wanted to use my scalloped border punch for this card, so I turned the card to have it go along the side - just my personal preference! The sentiment is from a Momenta stamp set, and I punched it out with my one-inch circle punch, mounted that on a pinked circle die, then added another circle and another pinked circle. There is foam tape in between each layer for added dimension.

I think this is a bright, cheery card ready to brighten someone's day!

Head on over to Paper Play Sketches to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope to see you playing along with us this week!

Thank you for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

I always love it when a sketch has a big banner! I don't know if I will ever get tired of using them! I also think this sketch would be perfect for a Project Life style card...I may just have to try that out this week, too!

Don't forget - you have until June 2nd to play along with our 5th Birthday Bash challenges. To be eligible to win the prize of Elle's Studio goodies, you have to enter your layout on the Facebook page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Stick It Down May Card Sketch Reveal

Hello, hello! Good Monday morning to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and are ready for the new week!

Today is the full card design team reveal at Stick It Down. Here is a reminder of May's sketch, created by Laura Rumble:

I'm using up a couple more of the papers in my 100 patterned paper challenge stack on this card. I don't know if I will ever get through all of that old (very first collections) of Doodlebug paper, I still have so much of every color, but it is basic enough that I think one day I will surely get it used!

I cannot even remember what company the birthday hat paper is from, but it's been hanging out in my stash for quite a while. The "birthday" is die cut using a die from Close To My Heart, and the "wishes" letter stickers are from October Afternoon. I had to punch a few tiny stars to add to it, too.

Be sure to stop by Stick It Down to to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Christmas Card Challenges #13

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend!

We have a new challenge up today at Christmas Card Challenges. Our rules are pretty simple - create a Christmas/holiday card. We do offer an optional challenge if you need some added inspiration.

The challenge for this week is a word prompt - wreath.

I used Echo Park's "I Love Christmas" 6x6 paper pad for this card. Maybe, just maybe, by the time the new Christmas collections start coming out, I will have this paper pad all used up! It's getting down to just a few tiny scraps.

It's a little hard to tell in the photo, but the "berries" on my wreath are actually tiny little gemstones. They add just the right amount of sparkle to this card!

Head on over to Christmas Card Challenges to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you have some time to play along with us this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #98

Happy Saturday, scrappy friends! I hope you have something fun planned this weekend. It looks like today may be a little on the rainy side around here, so that will make it a great day to stay in and scrap!

Sketch N Scrap has a new card sketch posted today! Lisa has created a great sketch for us to work with once again.

For my card, I have used Simple Stories "Let's Party" collection. This is such a fun collection, and the 3x4 cut apart cards are perfect for the focal point of this card. I decided it looked a little plain, so I went ahead and outlined each paper to help them stand out.

I have joined a birthday club group on Facebook, so you will probably be seeing more birthday cards than anything else being made in the upcoming weeks.

Be sure to stop by Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. While you're there, check out our design team call! This is a great team to design for and we would love for you to try out! You can find all of the details here.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Cookin' Up Creations Mad About Sketches

Hello, everyone! Happy Thursday to you!

We are "Mad About Sketches" this month over at Cookin' Up Creations. For the month of May every Wednesday and Saturday we have a sketch challenge posted, and this month we are working with sketches from the talented Rochelle Spears. Yesterday was my turn to post a sketch with a challenge.

Here is the sketch that I chose, and my added challenge was to use at least 5 different patterned papers:

Here is the layout that I created for this challenge:

The photos on this layout look much better in person! I guess when I edited it, it made the photos look a little grainy, but they are not.

I used Pink Paislee's "Happy Place" papers on this layout, and I did use 5 different papers. The alphas are some of my favorites from Fancy Pants' - Sweet Nothing - collection. I die cut a few gold glitter hearts, and what's this, I actually used some ink splatters on yet another layout! I may get the hang of it yet!

You ought to come join us at Cookin' Up Creations - lots of challenges, and lots of fun

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme #277

Hello again! I am back with another project to share with you!

Today is my day to be featured over on the Sketches In Thyme blog. This week I got to work with a great sketch, courtesy of Brenshevia Baker:

I must say, I love this sketch! It is not anything like I normally do, but I know I will be using it again! This layout came together so quickly for me. I am normally a slow scrapper, spending all day or longer on one layout, and I seriously had this one done in about 15 minutes. I think it took longer for my mist to dry on it than it did to actually make this layout! Of course, when you have a cute picture, and know exactly what paper strips you want to use, that helps! That is what normally takes me a lot of time!

My paper strips are both from Simple Stories - the mint green and black dot is from the "I Am" collection, and the black and white is from "The Story Of Us" - both scraps from my stash. I stamped the title using a stamp set from Elle's Studio, and I die cut the hearts from a piece of gold glitter paper. I finished it off with a few splatters of gold Heidi Shine. So quick and easy, and one of my favorite layouts ever!

Be sure to stop by Sketches In Thyme for inspiration every single day of the week!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Paper Play Sketches Color Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope that you are having a good week so far.

We have a new color challenge up at Paper Play Sketches today!

For my project, I have made a project life style card using Simple Stories Home Spun 6x6 paper pad. I love the colors in this collection, and I can't wait to put this card to use.

I based this card off of this older sketch from Paper Play Sketches. It is a perfect sketch for a greeting card or a project life style card.

Head on over to Paper Play Sketches to see the projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #212

Hello again! I am back with one more card to share with you today! I am here to share my take on Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #212.

Here's a look at the sketch:

And here is my card:

I will be honest with you when I saw the two strips going across the card I really had no intention of adding both. I liked the strip at the bottom, but I thought the top strip was unnecessary. I even put the top pink strip down and took it back up a couple of times before I decided I would just leave it off. Then, I wanted to add a sentiment to the front of my card, and that top strip became totally necessary for me to use! That strip just looked so much better with the sentiment layered on top of it.

I embossed the background with a big dot embossing folder from The Paper Studio, and I used papers from Jen Hadfield's "Everyday" 6x6 paper pad. The flowers were fussy cut from one of the sheets. It was such a pretty paper, and I hated to cut into it, but I love those few fussy cut flowers on this card. The sentiment is from and Art C stamp and die set.

The full design team reveals will be up on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow.  Be sure to stop by and see how the rest of the team interpreted the sketch. I hope you have some time to play along with us. I would love to see your take on this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Birthday Bash Sketch #3

Hello, everyone! I am back with my second post of the day! If you are looking for my Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Sketch N Scrap has another new Birthday Bash sketch posted today on the Facebook Events page here! This is a great sketch and one that I will be using again!

I have come to realize that since I take the majority of my photos with my phone, that I don't have a lot of  "newer" photos in the landscape form, they are all in the portrait mode. In fact, I looked through my latest photo order and they were all in the portrait mode! Note to self  - remember to turn the phone once in a while, or take more photos with my actual camera! Anyway, I went back and found these photos of Ada in my pile to scrap, and they worked perfectly!

For this layout, I have used all older papers from my 100 patterned paper challenge stack. I haven't mentioned much about that lately, but I am still using on it! I still feel like it is as big as it ever was, but I am getting papers used from it! I love the yellow, gray, navy blue color combo!

I have a few more photos that go with these, so I think I will make a pocket style layout to go with it and add in the journaling on it.

The layout looks like it's a little on the slanted side, but I checked and it is not. I guess when I edited it and tried to "straighten" the photo, it made it look a little wonky!

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap's Facebook Event page and play along with us! There's a fun prize being offered up to one lucky winner, and you have until June 2nd to play along! I hope to see you over there!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #322

Hello and Happy Tuesday!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday has a new sketch posted today and I love it! This week's sketch is courtesy of Kaylin, and the optional challenge is "dimensional layers".

For my card, I am once again using up some bits and pieces of Pebbles' - Front Porch - collection. The background is from a Maggie Holmes 6x6 paper pad...can't remember which one at the moment! I am pretty limited on full 6x6 sheets from the Front Porch collection, and that is a good problem to have! That means I am about done with that paper pad!

The sentiment stamp is from a set that I picked up at Tuesday Morning and it is from Momenta. I stamped it, then punched it out with a circle punch, and added it to a scalloped circle punch. It's hard to tell in the photo, but I did add some foam tape under the scalloped circle to give it a little dimension.

Stop by Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. You have two weeks to play along with us, and you can enter on the blog or on our Facebook page here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Use Your Stuff #264 - Metallics

Hi, guys! I am back with my fourth post of the day! I told you it was going to be a busy day around here today!

We have a fun new challenge up over on the Use Your Stuff blog today. This week Kristen is challenging us to use metallics on our project. Think glitter papers, sequins, mists, anything glittery, shiny, or metallic!

I used some green glitter paper on my card this week. It's always hard to get a good picture of it, but it does look really nice in person! I added the strip and then die cut a few hearts from the same paper. The sentiment is stamped using a couple of different stamp sets from Elle's Studio. A pretty quick and easy card that I can't wait to send out!

Stop by the Use Your Stuff blog to see the awesome projects from the rest of the design team using metallics. Hopefully, you can find some time to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a wonderful day!

LTSCB #97 - Anything Goes

Hello, hello! I am back with my third post of the day! If you are looking for my Christmas Cards All Year Round reveal or my reveal for The Memory Nest, just keep scrolling.

It's time for some mid-month inspiration over at Love To Scrap Challenge Blog! This time around our challenge is "Anything Goes" - and remember - you need to use a stamp on your project!

For May I got to play with an image from Dr. Digi's House Of Stamps called "Cake and Candles", so of course a birthday card was in order!

I let the colors of the papers that I picked out determine the colors of the cake and candles. I wouldn't mind a piece of that cake myself!

Check out Dr. Digi's House Of Stamps  - they have a lot of fun stamps!

Stop by the LTSCB to see the wonderful projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you have a chance to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Make It Monday #88 at The Memory Nest

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day! If you are looking for my Christmas Cards All Year Round reveal, please scroll down.

I am back with the latest sketch from The Memory Nest. Today is Make It Monday No. 88, and Leslie has created a fun sketch for us to work with:

I decided to make the squares on my layout a little bigger and closer together than what the sketch showed, but I think you can still see how the sketch inspired me!

I used Pink Paislee's "Switchboard" collection for this layout. I thought the phone/talking icons were perfect for this photo of Ada when she was just a little one! I have used up most of the ephemera pack that goes with this collection, so I cut out pieces from different patterned papers to use as embellishments. I did add some puffy heart stickers wherever there was a heart on the pieces.

Head on over to The Memory Nest to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. I hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by and I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Christmas Cards All Year Round May Mid-Month Inspiration

Hello, everyone! I hope that you have had a good weekend! It's going to be a busy day around here, so let's get started!

It's time for the mid-month inspiration from the Christmas Belles at Christmas Cards All Year Round! Our challenge for May is "Precipitation". Your holiday card needs to have some sort of precipitation on it - snow, ice, icicles, rain, snowflakes, snowmen - your choice!

I have used snowflakes on my card today:

For this card, I embossed the background with my swiss dot embossing folder, and I die cut the snowflakes several times. I then layered two of the snowflakes together for a little more dimension. I stamped the sentiment using the Simple Christmas stamp set by Neat and Tangled. I matted it onto a piece of silver glitter paper.

Head on over to Christmas Cards All Year Round to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the Christmas Belles. We have a fun prize up for grabs, so be sure to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

I have made another quick and easy card using a 3x4 Project Life style card. I've said it before, these cards make it so easy to make a cute card, and when you have as many of them in your stash as I do, well, then you're happy when you can use some of them up!

Head on over to Paper Play Sketches to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us this week!

Sketch N Scrap's 5th Birthday Bash Sketch #2

Hello hello! I hope your week is off to a good start! This is our last week of school - in fact only one more full day and a half day after today. I am so ready for summer vacation to begin!

Sketch N Scrap has their second exclusive birthday bash sketch up on our Facebook events page today. This week we have a fun card sketch, courtesy of Lisa, to work with.

When I saw the strips on the sketch, I knew I wanted to use washi tape, and then I remembered that I had bought the washi tape pack from Simple Stories "So Rad" collection, and so a "guy" card was made! I used the fun new star dies from Close To My Heart, once again, on this card. They make great embellishment! The sentiment is stamped using the "All My Heart" stamp set from Elle's Studio.

Be sure to stop by the Sketch N Scrap Facebook Events page here to join in the fun. You have until June 2nd to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Christmas Card Challenges #12

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend. It's finally warmed up around here, and we were able to get outside and enjoy some sunshine!

We have a new challenge up today at Christmas Card Challenges. Our challenges are always anything goes, as long as you make a Christmas/holiday card, but we do add in an optional challenge if you need some added inspiration. The week we have a photo challenge for you.

I found this cut apart card in my stash, and the ornaments on it reminded me of the ones in the inspiration photo. Cut apart cards always make for a quick and easy card! It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I added some gold glitter tape behind the image.

Head on over to the Christmas Card Challenges blog to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. You have two weeks to play along with our challenges!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap NSD Exclusive Sketch

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day! It's looking like it may be a little busy here on the blog today!

Sketch N Scrap has an exclusive new sketch up today on our Facebook Event page here. Head on over and play along with us - you have until June 2nd to play along for a chance at a fun prize!

Here is a look at the sketch:

For this layout, I have used a bunch of scraps from my Bella Blvd drawer. It's a little busier than my usual layouts...but I'm kinda liking it! You can really see the hearts better in person, too. I probably should have inked the edges of them or outlined them to make them stand out a little better, but like I said, they really show up better in person!

These photos are of Miss Ada when she was almost 8 months old. It was summer break and Abby had a workshop that she had to go to for, so the boys and I got to keep sweet Ada. I was feeding her some baby food and I sneezed, and she started laughing. I would pretend to sneeze again, and she would laugh even harder. I don't know how long this went on, but I could not get enough of that little belly laugh!

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap's Facebook Event page to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back shortly with another project to share with you!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style #69

Hello, scrappy friends! Today is our day - National Scrapbooking Day! There are so many fun things going on around the internet today, so let's get started.

Today I am featured over on the Sketches In Thyme PL Style blog with my take on sketch #69, courtesy of Majo. Here's a look at the sketch:

Here is the card that I have created based off of this sketch:

I've been trying to work on Ada's first-year album, so I thought I would use this sketch to make a card for it. At first, I thought I would use this as a journaling card, but I may add a photo to it instead - when I figure out which photos I am going to use with it!

I also created a couple of coordinating cards to go along with this card:

I used last month's sketch #67 for this card. I will add a photo to the left side and a little journaling to the right side. Here's a reminder of what that sketch looked like:

For this last card I have created another photo card.

Here are all three cards together. Now all I need to do is figure out which photos I am going to use, and I'll have a few more photos in Ada's first-year album!

I know I will add in a few more embellishments once I get the photos picked out, but I think these turned out pretty cute!

We are offering up a fun prize this month, so head on over to the Sketches In Thyme PL Style blog and check it out. We would love to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!
