The Great Stash Bash - July Edition

Hello and Happy July 1st! I can't believe that we are now halfway through 2020 - and what a crazy first half of the year it has been! Here's hoping that things will settle down in this last half of the year!

The start of a new month means it's time for another Great Stash Bash Kit and I am so excited to start working with this kit!

As a reminder here is how the challenge works:
On the 1st of each month we will post a challenge prompt and the stash kit we have created following that prompt. During the month we will try to use as much of our stash kits as possible on different projects. Then, on the last day of the month, we will do a recap post showing what stash we were able to bash!
This will be a just-for-fun challenge so no monthly prize - but isn't the real prize using up our stash? You never know - if we still have a few unused stash items after a few months, then those items may just go into a giveaway. We hope you will join us in our quest to bash some stash in 2020. If you accept the challenge to play along - link up on either my blog or Lisa's blog (or both if you choose) so that we can see who is joining us each month!

Here is July's challenge:

Once again we will be creating a kit of 10 papers (7 papers that are 3 years or older and 3 newer papers), 5-7 scrap papers, four embellishments (3 that are 3 years or older, and 1 newer embellishment), and this month we will be concentrating on using up some of those Project Life type cards.

Here is a look at my kit:

This is starting to become a regular thing with me - but my older papers don't necessarily coordinate with my newer papers! There are a couple that would go together from each part, so we will see if I can mix and match or just keep the collections separate.

Here is the "older" portion of my kit:

My Close To My Heart drawer is beginning to overflow so I decided to pull out one of my most favorite collections - Some Kind Of Wonderful. When this paper came out I bought 3 packs of the paper - that is how much I liked it - and these 7 papers are about all that I have left of it. I think I have another duplicate of 2 of the papers and the cut apart cards which you will see a little later in this post.

My 3 older embellishments are the stickers and die cuts that came with this paper pack, a sticker sheet from Jillibean Soup, and some wood veneer pieces that I have been trying to use for a long time!

Here's a look at the other side of the papers:

Here is a look at the new portion of my kit:

These papers and embellishments are from the latest Pink Paislee birthday collection - And Many More. These papers and embellishments are perfect for my birthday photos from this year, so a layout is already planned for a little later this month! I did add a few more embellishments but I just wasn't sure which ones I wanted to use - the chipboard stickers, paper stickers, or die cuts, and who knows, maybe a few of each will make it on a layout!

Here's a look at the papers:

This month we are concentrating on using our Project Life type cards and I have soooo many Project Life type cards that there is no way I take a photo of all of them without looking like a hoarder, so I pulled out the cut apart cards from both of the above collections and a few other cards to keep in a little basket on my desk as a reminder to use them.

Here are the scraps I have pulled - a few more than 5-7 but not many more:

Most of these papers are from Close To My Heart so they should match perfectly.

Now  I know that with having just a touch of yellow in some of my older papers that I will want to have some yellow as an option (and I could not find a single yellow in my scraps that was the right shade) so I went ahead and pulled a couple of yellow papers (this photo also has my duplicate papers in it) and the yellow at the end of the row is from the Pink Paislee collection - in case I need it!

I also pulled out this die cut box to keep on my desk for a few extra embellishments:

July is going to be a very busy month for me. I have a commissioned album that I have to get done so I will be scrapping a lot - just not my own photos. I hope that having this kit all ready to go that it will help me to stay productive when I do get a chance to scrap for myself.

Now for the rules - Since this is a just for fun challenge the rules are not set in stone BUT we have them to help you focus on what really matters using your stash & to help spread the word of our fun challenge so others may join in!!  You know you have at least one friend who needs to use her stash!!
