Scrap Our Stash Saturday Morning Cartoons

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! Are you ready for the new week? I don't know if I am, but it's here regardless!

Today is my day to share my take on the Saturday Morning Cartoons challenge at Scrap Our Stash. For February, the Saturday morning cartoon image we are to get inspiration from is Popeye and you must use heart patterned paper and/or 3 or more hearts and be inspired by the sketch:

Here is what I came up with:

Since Popeye has his main squeeze - Olive Oyl - in the image, I started with a photo of me and my main squeeze! I also tried to stick to the same colors by using grey, pink, and green - even though my green is more mint than in the image. The grey background paper is an older paper - I think from Echo Park - and the rest of the patterned papers are from Close To My Heart's - I Heart Us - paper pack. It's hard to tell because they are so tiny, but the white and black paper actually has hearts all over it.

All of the chipboard stickers are also from the I Heart Us collection and they are just so cute! I just love that typewriter! I found a pink doily and some pink sequins in my stash that matched and added those as well. Since I didn't use the big heart element from the sketch, I felt like I needed a little something more above the photo. I also moved the banners to the other side to help balance everything out.

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Head on over to Scrap Our Stash for more inspiration from the design team. I would love to see your take on the sketch, so I hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!
