Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges #197 - Thanksgiving

Hello, everyone! Happy Wednesday and Happy November 1st! November. How did that happen? I swear it was just summer vacation!

November is the start of the holiday season around here, starting with Thanksgiving later this month. Our challenge at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges this week is a great way to get us ready for the Thanksgiving holiday.

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for this challenge and then I came across this little turkey stamp in my stash and thought he would be a good fit for it. Both the turkey and the sentiment are from old Studio G $1 bin stamps. I have probably had them for 6 or 7 years and never inked them up. The turkey reminded of the old construction paper turkeys we used to make in elementary school so I had to color the feathers different colors as a throwback to that!

Head on over to Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges to see the fun projects from the rest of the design team. I would love it if you played along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #236

Hello, and Happy Halloween! Today has been so hectic for me that I almost forgot that it was Halloween! I can't believe that tomorrow will be November 1st...it always seems like time really flies from now until after all of the holidays.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a new sketch posted over on the blog and it's a fun one!

I decided to go with a Christmas card. I don't know if I can create anything else! It seems like Christmas cards are all that I have been making lately. I should have plenty to send out this year!

The red and white paper is from a 6x6 paper pad from The Paper Studio. The cover is long gone and I can't remember the name of it, but it is one of my favorites! I stamped the trees using a stamp from Close To My Heart (D1498). It doesn't have a name on it, but I think it was from one of the Cricut bundles. The sentiment if from an old Studio G $1 bin stamp sets. I thought the "y" fit perfectly in one of the scallops.

The full design team reveal and last week's Top 3 will be up tomorrow over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge so be sure to check it out! I would love to see your take on this sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

HIMCR #324 - Any Holiday

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Hiding In My Craft Room has a new challenge today and it is another of my favorites - Any Holiday. I figured since Halloween is just around the corner that I would make one more card for it.

Our sponsor this week is Melonheadz and I got to work with the Ghosties clip art. There are so many cute little ghosts in this set.

I printed the little ghost image on a piece of vellum to give it the see-through effect. I wish that I would have die cut the two stars in vellum instead of the white but once these were glued down there was no getting them back up!

I based my card off of this sketch from Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday - you still have another week to enter their challenge!

Be sure to stop by Hiding In My Craft Room to see which holiday the rest of the design team picked. We hope you have some time to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap World Card Making Day Sketch #4

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! I can't believe that this is the last weekend of October and Halloween is just a few days away. Where did October go?! It always seems like once Halloween hits that time is just a blur until after the holidays.

Sketch N Scrap has one more card sketch for you today in honor of World Card Making Day. We have celebrated this fun day all month long and I am going to miss the weekly sketches! Lisa has created another great sketch for us to work with today:

I can already tell that I will be using this sketch for a Christmas card or two, but for today I have another Halloween card for you:

For this card, I have used an older Bo Bunny collection - Boo Crew - I think...

My scalloped circle dies are still missing - I really thought they would have turned up by now, but no such luck yet. I hope that doesn't mean that they somehow made it to the trash can...surely I would have noticed if the whole package had gone in the trash!

Anyway, instead of a scalloped circle, I just used a pinked circle die and it works just as well. The little witch is die cut from one of the patterned papers.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us. You have until October 31st at 9:55 P.M. CST to join in the fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back a little later today to share one more Halloween card with you!

Sunny Day Crafting #58 - Q is for Quick and Easy

Hello and Happy Wednesday everyone!

Sunny Day Crafting has a new challenge posted today. We are on letter "Q" this week and that stands for "quick and easy". Show us your quick and easy projects!

Quick and Easy is my favorite kind of project! Nothing gets the old creative juices flowing like being able to create a quick and easy project - and I find cards are generally pretty quick and easy.

For my card I have used Echo Park's - A Perfect Autumn - 6x6 paper pad and the sentiment is from one of the ephemera packs. This card seriously came together in a matter of minutes. I'm down to mostly scraps, so that limited what I could work with - which helps in my case. If I have too many options I tend to take a lot longer settling on what I want to do!

Since this card will be going in the mail I wanted to keep it relatively flat. The sentiment piece is popped up on some foam, but that is as thick as it gets. The three little circles at the bottom are punched from one of the scraps.

Be sure to stop by Sunny Day Crafting to see the quick and easy projects from the rest of the design team. We hope you have time to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Caught Red-Handed - Soul Scrappers - Random Word Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you!

I am here today to share a layout that I made for the Random Word Challenge #16 over at Soul Scrappers. The letter for this month is "R" and our list of words that can be used is:
1. relax - relaxing
2. rascal
3. rowdy
4. red-handed
5. ravishing
6. ray of sunshine

I had found this old photo of Matthew when he was two and a half and in his naughty corner. It was called his naughty corner because when he got quiet and couldn't be found - he was usually behind the rocking chair doing naughty things - like using my sewing scissors to cut up the newspaper or his Curious George shirt because he "didn't like it". On this day he was caught red-handed using my scissors to cut up a newspaper. It's a wonder he didn't cut a finger off!

I almost always start my layouts with a sketch and I found this one that I had pinned from Stick It Down from a few months ago:

I liked the messiness behind the photo that was on the sketch and thought I would try and recreate it. I watered down some white acrylic paint, dabbed some wadded up plastic wrap in it and then applied it to my background. I then used some of the watered down paint for some splatters.

Here is a close up of it with the photo on top of the area:

Head on over to Soul Scrappers and check out the challenges! We would love to have you join us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Stick It Down October Card Reveal

Hello, hello! Good Monday morning to you! I hope that you are ready for a new week. This will be a short week since it's parent/teacher conference time. That day off on Friday will be nice!

Today is the full card design team reveal at Stick It Down. Here is a reminder of the card sketch that was posted on the first:

It's always a struggle to photograph gold glitter - or gold embossing - or gold anything really! For my card, I had this "Believe" wood veneer word in my stash and I decided to add gold glitter embossing powder to the bottom half. I taped off the top half with washi tape and went to work and it actually worked out really well. Since you can't see it all that well in the above photo, here is a better look at it:

I wanted just a little more color, so I added the red scalloped border for it to sit on.

I love the way this turned out and I may just have to keep this card and add it to my December Daily instead of giving it away!

Head on over to Stick It Down to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Christmas Card Challenges #24

Hello, again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Lasting Memories reveal, please scroll down or go here.

We have a new challenge for you today at Christmas Card Challenges. Our rules are pretty simple - create a Christmas/holiday card. If you need a little extra inspiration then we offer up an optional challenge for you. This week is an inspiration photo.

When I first saw the inspiration photo I immediately thought of the Close To My Heart - Very Merry - stamp set. The writing is almost exactly the same and I thought the little pine sprigs and berries matched pretty well, too.

The paper that I have used is from a Paper Studio 6x6 paper pad. The cover is now missing, so I'm not sure what the name of it is. I really thought it would be a paper that went into a giveaway pile or the throw-away pile, but I really love how this turned out!. I just may have to make another card like this one to get it used up!

The red bow I picked up at Dollar Tree last week. I thought they might come in handy in my December Daily this year and I really think it is the perfect accent! It does make the card a little on the bulky side, so this card will be given with a gift or sent in a bubble envelope!

Head on over to Christmas Card Challenges to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope that you have a great day!

LM #367 - Stamping With Something Other Than A Stamp

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you. I hope that you are enjoying your weekend. Ours has been very quiet, which is really nice once in a while!

We have a new challenge at Lasting Memories today. Our theme for October has been "Around the House" and the last challenge of the month is - Stamp with something other than a stamp.

I have used a jar lid to stamp my circles and a pencil eraser to stamp my dots.

I knew I wanted to use these photos of Shane and when I saw this sketch I thought it would be perfect for what I wanted to do.

I did add in the stamped circles to go around the title and the journaling, and my elements are more on a diagonal than up and down, but I think it works.

Here's a close up of some of the stamping.

Since my photos were pretty neutral I wanted  to add in a few pops of color. I had these papers in my new 100 Patterned Paper Challenge box, and they are what determined the color combo of this layout. Since I only used little strips of each paper they will all go back into my box to be used again. I will have more on my new 100 Patterned Paper Challenge a little later this week.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the awesome inspiration from the Design Team. They have some very creative was to stamp with something other than a stamp!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you.

HIMCR #323 - Lots of Layers!

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! I hope your weekend is off to a good start and maybe, just maybe, you're finding some time to get scrappy! After a quick trip to the grocery store (if there is such a thing!) I plan on spending the majority of my time in my scrap room.

We have a new challenge posted today at Hiding In My Craft Room. This week our challenge is - Lots Of Layers - we want to see lots of layers on your projects.

Our sponsor this week is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps and I got to work with the cute Country Pumpkins digital set.

I have used Echo Parks - A Perfect Autumn - 6x6 paper pad for this card. I have several layers - the gold, the brown, the brown floral, and the yellow plaid, then the layered circles. I colored the pumpkin with colored pencils.

Head on over to HIMCR to see the projects from the rest of the design team. If you like to use lots of layers on your projects, then this challenge is for you! I hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #108

Hello and Happy Friday! We have once again made it to the weekend. It's looking like it is going to be a quiet weekend around our house, so I have high hopes of getting lots of scrapping done!

Sketch N Scrap has posted a new card sketch today and I can't wait to see what you create with it! Lisa has outdone herself once again!

So, a little story about this card...I had it all made - scalloped border included - and then I could not find my scalloped circle die, and I had just used it that morning! I have looked high and low in my scrap room and I still cannot find it. I am sure the package was probably in amongst papers that I have put away, but that was three days ago and I still haven't found it! The pinked circle looked a little off with the scalloped border, so I just added another paper strip instead. I hope I find my scalloped circle dies soon...

I couldn't let the Halloween holiday go by without using my cute little ghost die and I thought this sketch was a good time to get him out and use him! I've used more of the Doodlebug Designs - Boos and Brews - 6x6 paper pad. The black enamel stars are from Close To My Heart.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I would love it if you played along with us! We will have our fourth and final exclusive card sketch for WCMD on the blog tomorrow, so be sure to check back. Our Fall Fun Crop is still going on over on our Facebook Events page, and we have a special sketch posted over there a chance to be picked for a guest designer, so head on over there and check it out! Deadline to play along with our crop challenges is October 31st (October 30th for the Guest Designer challenge).

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Pause Dream Enjoy Ch #195 - Spooky Cute

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope your week is going well. We are already at the midway point and the weekend will be here before we know it.

There's a new challenge posted today at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges and this week our challenge is spooky cute.

I had this cute little mummy left over from a cut apart sheet and thought that he was pretty spooky and pretty cute! I used Doodlebug Designs - Boos and Brews - 6x6 paper pad for this card. I just have a few sheets left and that is about it. I used the last of the scraps that I had for this collection on this card. Now next year I won't feel so bad about buying a new Halloween collection!

Stop by the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges blog to see the spooky-cute projects from the rest of the design team. I hope to see you playing along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #234

Hello, everyone!  I am back with one more project to share with you today!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a new sketch for this week posted over on the blog. Here is a look at what Michelle has created for us:

The little turquoise piece with the sentiment I had made up a while ago and then never went ahead and used it on a card. When I saw this sketch I thought it would be the perfect time to use it.

I've used Echo Park's - The Story Of Our Family - 6x6 paper pad for this card. I added a few turquoise enamel dots to finish it off.

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge tomorrow to see the full design team reveal and our top picks from last week.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great evening!

Sketches In Thyme #297

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Today is my day to be featured on the Sketches In Thyme blog with my take on sketch #297, courtesy of Shawn:

I decided to use a single photo in place of the two 3x3 photos and I made the layers behind the photo a little bigger. I used Close To My Heart's - Some Kind Of Wonderful - collection (the black and white papers for the background) and the 6x6 papers are from American Crafts - Everyday - 6x6 paper pad. The stickers are also from American Crafts.

I did something that I don't normally do and that is I didn't really add a big title to my layout. I figured the "love you" sticker said all I needed to say about this photo of Abby and Ada.

Be sure to check out Sketches In Thyme. We have design team inspiration every single day of the week! I am offering up the prize this month, so come on over and play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #344

Hello, everyone! Good Tuesday morning to you! It's feeling a little more like fall these days and really starting to look like it. The trees are starting to turn and the mornings are definitely cooler.

We have a new sketch posted at Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday, courtesy of Kaylin, and our optional theme is "autumn".

I didn't stick completely to the sketch, but close enough that you can still see it.

I used up a little more of the Pink Paislee - Prairie Hill -  papers and while I had my "hello" die out for my card from yesterday, I thought I would show it a little more love and use it again.

Head over to Try Stampin' to see how the rest of the design team interpreted this sketch. I would love to see your take on it, so I hope that you play along! You have two weeks to enter and you can enter over on the blog or on our Facebook page here.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you, so stay tuned!

Use Your Stuff #284 - Tis The Season For Pumpkin Spice

Hello, everyone! Good Monday morning to you! I hope that you had a good weekend. Mine went by way too fast, but it was filled with lots of great family time.

We have a new challenge for you at Use Your Stuff and yours truly is the hostess for this week's challenge! The challenge is "Tis the season for pumpkin spice - use orange (a little or a lot) on your project OR use a pumpkin on your project".

I have used a little bit of orange on my card for this week. I used up some more scraps from the Pink Paislee - Prairie Hill - papers that I had used for this card earlier in the month. I am really trying to use the scraps from the papers that I cut into instead of just adding them to my scrap box. So far I've done pretty well!

It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I did emboss the bottom half of my card with my swiss dot embossing folder.

I based this card off of this sketch that Creative Scrappers posted for WCMD.

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see how the rest of the design team interpreted my challenge. I hope you can find some time to play along with us this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style #88

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend has been a good one so far.

The mid-month sketch is posted over at Sketches In Thyme PL Style today. Emma has created another great journaling card for us to use:

I have created a journaling card to go with the card that I made using the October 1st sketch:

This layout is of  Ada's trip to the pumpkin patch last year and will go in her 6x8 album. This trip to the pumpkin patch was filled with visiting a petting zoo, picking out pumpkins, and playing on their playground so there will be a few more layouts to share!

I've used Simple Stories - Hello Fall - collection, along with a few random scraps that matched, for these pages.

Head on over to Sketches In Thyme PL Style to see the projects from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

HIMCR #322 - Super Scraps Saturday

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Today is Super Scraps Saturday at Hiding In My Craft Room - one of my favorite challenge weeks! I love that this challenge makes me look through my scraps and get them used up!

This week we are working with images from MHK Designs and I chose the super cute Simply Santa digital  set.

I just gotta say - I love this image! I know this Santa will be showing up on quite a few of my cards this year - and in years to come!

When I looked through my scraps of Christmas paper, I came across this old Authentique collection - I'm not even sure what it is called and all I have left are bits and pieces and nothing with the name on it. I thought the papers were a good match for this Santa.

Head on over to HIMCR to see the wonderful creations from the rest of the design team. I can't wait to see what you create for our challenge this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Sketch #2

Happy Saturday, scrappy friends! I am so happy that it is the weekend - I have high hopes of having lots of scrappy time!

We are celebrating World Card Making Day all month long at Sketch N Scrap and today we have our second exclusive card sketch posted on the blog. Heather has created a fun sketch for us to work with and it has lots of possibilities.

I have created a fall card for this sketch. I haven't made nearly enough of these type cards this year and I really like how this one turned out. I have used Bella Blvd papers from a couple of different collections for this card. I really tried to stamp a leaf for the focal piece, but it just didn't look right, so I punched a circle out of the same paper as the background and it was perfect!

Head on over to the Sketch N Scrap blog to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you have some time to create with us this month!

Also, on our Facebook page, our Fall Fun Crop is in full swing. We will be posting our 3rd challenge over there today, so be sure to check it out, as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I will be back a little later with another project to share with you, so stay tuned!

Paper Play Sketches #53

Hello again! This is my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sunny Day Crafting reveal, please go here.

Paper Play Sketches has a fun new sketch posted today! This is one of those sketches that I know I will be using again.

I've used Echo Park's - A Perfect Autumn - 6x6 paper pad for this card. I stuck to the sketch - only adding in a couple of tab punches for a little something extra. The tree paper is a bit busy for me, but I thought it worked well for this sketch as a focal piece.

Head over to Paper Play Sketches to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I can't wait to see what you create with this sketch, so be sure to play along and link up!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Sunny Day Crafting Ch #56 - O is for Oval

Hello and Happy Wednesday! We have had a little taste of really cool - weather - 80 degrees on Monday and by Tuesday afternoon we were at 49 degrees. I'm ready for cooler weather, but not that cool! Of course, by the weekend we will be back up in the 80's again. Crazy weather!

We have a new challenge up at Sunny Day Crafting today. We are working our way through the alphabet and this week we are on the letter "O" and it is for oval.

Wouldn't you know it - an oval is the only shape that I don't have a die for...so, I had to look through my stash to see if I could come up with an oval, and this is what I came up with:

I found this Christmas sentiment on one of my sticker sheets and thought that it would work!

Now that I look at this card, I wish I would have added a thin white mat around the gingham paper...I may have to tear it apart and redo it!

Head on over to Sunny Day Crafting to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I hope you find the time to play along with us this week. I would love to see your beautiful creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

HIMCR #322 - Halloween Colors

Hello everyone! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap WCMD reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Have you been seeing a lot of World Card Making Day challenges today? I know there are a lot of them out there!

Hiding In My Craft Room has a new challenge up today and this week we want to see Halloween colors on your projects. Scrap N Dipity is our sponsor for this challenge and I got to work with the Sicara Witch digital image.

For this card, I have used some old BoBunny Halloween paper. I colored the image using Prima watercolor pencils and the sentiment is from an old Close To My Heart stamp set. I added a few wood veneer stars to help fill up the white space around the image.

Be sure to stop by HIMCR to see the wonderful creations from the rest of the design team. I can't wait to see what you create using Halloween colors!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketch N Scrap WCMD Challenge #1

Happy Saturday scrappy friends - and what a great Saturday it is - World Card Making Day! The internet will be all abuzz with card challenges and inspiration!

At Sketch N Scrap it is going to be double the fun. We are celebrating WCMD all month long and it all starts today. We will post four exclusive new card sketches every Saturday in October. Our Fall Fun Crop is starting this weekend over on our Facebook page, as well. All of our crop challenges will be new card sketches in honor of WCMD, so be sure to check both the blog and the Facebook page out!

Here is the fabulous sketch that Lisa has created for the blog post today:

I just have to say - I love this sketch and I'm sure it will be a go-to sketch for me when I need a quick card.

I haven't made many fall cards, so I thought that is what I would concentrate on for at least part of this month. I used an old Pink Paislee collection - Prairie Hill - that I love so much and have been hoarding since I bought it, waiting for the perfect project. Now is the time to get it out and use it! You will probably be seeing these papers all month long!

I stamped a pretty little leaf from an old Close To My Heart stamp set and the sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.

Be sure to check out the Sketch N Scrap blog and our Fall Fun Crop and join in on the fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back with another project a little later!
