TN Time With Lisa & Lori September Challenge

Hello and Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is off to a great start. It's been pretty quiet around here so far this week - which is just how I like it!

It's time for TN Time With Lisa & Lori's September challenge and we have a special guest joining us this month! More on that in just a bit, but first, let's see how our challenge works.

HERE IS HOW OUR CHALLENGE WORKS: This is a monthly challenge that launches on the 10th of each month  You will have until the 9th at midnight CDT to link up your entries. If you complete my challenge link your spread below. If you complete Lisa's sketch challenge link your spread on her blog - My Creative Endeavors. If you combine my challenge with Lisa's challenge link up your spread here on my blog AND on Lisa's blog. You will then have a chance to win my prize as well as Lisa's prize!  That's a chance to win TWO times with ONE layout!!

You can always find the rules to our challenge under the TN Challenge Rules tab at the top of the page.

We have a special guest designer joining us! My friend, Sandi, is joining us for this challenge. Sandi is a talented scrapper and card maker and she has played along with us the last several months. I always enjoy seeing her beautiful work. Here's a little bit about Sandi:

Hi, I am Sandi Pressley from Palm Coast, Florida which is on the east coast of the state between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach. I am recently retired from selling roofing and building materials and am enjoying my retirement so far more than I even imagined. I have been a paper crafter for nearly 13 years now. I love all size canvases from cards to 12x12 traditional layouts. This year I started my personal memory keeping of life with my wonderful and crazy husband in a Traveler’s Notebook and I must say, I really love this size. The pages come together quickly especially when using one of Lisa’s awesome sketches and paired with a fun challenge from Lori.

I was born and raised in Chicago. When Dave and I were married in 2003 we moved to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where we lived for 4 years until moving to Florida. I have two sons that still live in the Chicago area and they have given me 4 grandchildren ranging in age from 18 to 8...... Jake, Cole, Abby, and Izzy. Their pictures and activities fill the scrapbooks on my shelves.

Besides crafting, I like to read, go out to lunch with friends, go to the gym and research future home improvements to keep my husband busy on the weekends. We are soon to become dog parents to a French Bulldog puppy. This layout is the first of many I am sure I will create about our new little girl.

Thanks to Lisa and Lori for inviting me to guest design here this month. I had a lot of fun working with the sketch and challenge.

You can see more of Sandi's beautiful work on her blog - Slightly Off Center

Here is Sandi's adorable take on our challenge:

And here is my layout:

I am trying to get back on track with my 52 Favorites TN. I have a lot of weeks that I need to go back and fill in and my goal is to have it all caught up and back on track by the end of October...we will see if that happens! I did make time this past weekend to figure out which photos I want to use for the missing weeks. Now I just need to go back through my photos to see what I need to get printed and just work on it! I know once the weather is cooler - and the nights are longer! - that it will be much easier for me to get to my scrap room.

For my Week 33 layout - which was the week that Ada started kindergarten - I used die cuts, hearts, banners, a date stamp, and polka dots (red paper).
I still can't believe that she is old enough to go to school!

I used Doodlebug Designs "School Days" collection for this. Most of the papers were scraps from the 12x12 layout I made a few days ago. You can see it here

Here are a couple of close-ups:

Poor Ada looks so nervous in this photo!

We did not have 3 participants last month so there will be no winner. A big thank you to Sandi for playing along with us.

Here is what you will be playing for this month:

I am going to add a couple more goodies to this prize and will update the photo when I figure out what it will be!

Make sure you check out Lisa's blog to see her beautiful layout and stop by Sandi's blog, as well, to read all about her super cute layout!

I hope you find some time to play along with us this month! Remember to link up your layouts below by October 9th.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

  4. Congrats to Sandi for honors in being GD and preparing an adorable TN layout for the challenges. It's amazing with a switch of colors and prints to see the huge visual difference between Sandi's and Lori's layouts! Both of you made fantastic interpretations of the sketch and incorporating Lori's extras! Kudos, gals!!
