Christmas Cards All Year Round - Leaves

Hello, hello! It's (almost) September 1st ( just a couple more hours!) - can you believe that? I have no idea where August even went! I guess with all of the getting ready to go back to school, I didn't even have a minute to slow down! I am hopeful, now that school is back in session, that things will start to slow down and I can relax just a little bit!

We have a new challenge up for you today at Christmas Cards All Year Round. Our challenge for September is - leaves. Your Christmas project must have some sort of leaves on it. I have gone with some holly leaves:

Another pretty quick and easy card. I had picked up this sheet of holly paper when my local scrapbook store was going out of business. I have no idea what company it is from because it doesn't have anything on the back of it, but I really loved the green and red of the holly against the black background.

I added in a piece of silver glitter tape and the sentiment is from a KaiserCraft stamp set - Mistletoe. This set has quite a few great holiday sentiments in it and I hope to use it a few more times this holiday season.

Be sure to stop by Christmas Cards All Year Round to see the gorgeous cards from the rest of the Gingerbread Gals. I hope to see you playing along with us! Now is the time to get those Christmas cards started so you can set back and relax this holiday season!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today. It's going to be a busy day around here, so be sure to stop back by a little later!

Hello, Girl Wonder - A Soul Scrappers Challenge

Hello, scrappy friends! I hope that you are having a good week! I am looking forward to the long holiday weekend! It's sad that we have only been back to school for two weeks and I'm already ready for a break!

Today I have a layout to share with you that I made for my Double Delight sketch challenge that I host over at Soul Scrappers. My challenge is always posted on the 30th and lasts a full month - I would love it if you joined in!

Here is the layout that I created for:

The sketch that I chose I found on Pinterest and it is by Brenda Ragsdale. It had these four great big circles in the background and I am not going to lie these circles gave me fits! Of course, it was just because I was trying to put them in an order that wasn't too pleasing to the eye. Once I finally figured that out it all fell together so easily!

Here's a closer look at each page:

I used an older collection from My Mind's Eye called "My Girl". I believe I picked up a complete kit - all of the papers, all of the stickers and chipboard, and the stamp set on Scrapbook Steals for a really good price a year or two ago.

It's kind of funny how I decided to use this collection for this layout.  I was watching a Youtube video and the person was using the boy version of this collection, "Boy Crazy". I immediately thought of some old photos of my boys playing together when they were little and I originally had planned to use those photos with the "Boy Crazy" collection. Then I found the "My Girl" in my My Mind's Eye drawer and it was a perfect fit for these photos of Ada playing ball with her cousin. I've been wanting to scrap these photos for a long time, but I just couldn't find the right papers. I'm so glad that in a very round about way I found the perfect papers to get these photos scrapped!

The story behind the photos - Ada is six months older than her cousin, Elijah, but Elijah is every bit as big as she is, if not bigger, but Ada has the speed that he lacks! These photos were taken over the Memorial Day weekend 2016, so Ada was two and a half and Elijah had just turned two. Elijah was going through the "mine" phase - everything he had was "his" and he wanted everything that Ada had. Ada was just wanting to play ball - and she thought that was what they were doing - when in reality he was just trying to keep her away from the ball! Eventually, Ada caught up to him and tackled him, well, really she fell into him and knocked him down, but she did come away with the ball! They are so fun to watch!

If you're not a member of Soul Scrappers, you should really check it out. There are a lot of different challenges each month - so something for everyone - and I would love it if you played along with my challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! It's going to be a busy day here on my blog tomorrow, so be sure to come back to see what I have to show you! I hope you have a great day!

Paper Play Sketches #50

Hello, everyone! Happy Wednesday to you! I hope that you are having a good week. I am looking forward to the Labor Day weekend coming up. We have no plans but I am ready for an extra day off!

Paper Play Sketches has a new sketch challenge posted today. I always love Janis' sketches - they always make for a quick card! Here is this week's sketch:

I know, I know - it's a little early for Halloween, but I just couldn't help myself. We've been having unseasonably cool weather and it's putting me in the mood for all things fall - including Halloween. Now I'm not trying to rush it - I want it to be summer as long as possible, but this weather is making me think it's fall.

I kept this card pretty simple because that paper is all really busy! I tried to add three little black stars where the dots are on the sketch and they just got lost! So plain (and flat!) it is!

Be sure to stop by Paper Play Sketches to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I would love to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Christmas Card Challenges #20

Hello, scrappy friends! I hope that you are having a good weekend! We have had a lot of really beautiful days this past week or two. Usually in August it is too hot to get out and enjoy anything, but lately we've been having temps right around 80 and upper 50's to low 60's for lows. It's been nice to have the windows open and enjoy the fresh air.

Christmas Card Challenges has a new challenge starting today. Our challenges are pretty simple - just make a Christmas/Holiday card. We do offer up an optional challenge in case you need a little inspiration. This week we have a photo inspiration challenge.

I have been trying to use up a few of my older 6x6 paper pads so I can justify buying some of the new Christmas collections that are starting to come out. For this card, I have used an older Carta Bella collection called Merry and Bright. I love this paper with all of the ornaments hanging and thought it would be perfect for this challenge. The ornaments on the focal panel were from the sticker sheet. I added a bit of silver metallic thread to each of them to mimic the patterned paper. The sentiment is from a Studio G $1 bin stamp from a long time ago!

Head on over to Christmas Card Challenges to see how the design team was inspired by the photo. What will inspire you? The colors? The ornaments? Both? I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a wonderful day!

HIMCR #315 - Any Holiday

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! Now that we are back into the school routine Saturdays always seem so much sweeter!

We have a new challenge for you today over at Hiding In My Craft Room. This week our challenge is - Any Holiday! We had the pleasure of working with some Halloween images from this week's sponsor -  Pickled Potpourri.

Pickled Potpourri has so many cute Halloween images and I got to work with the super cute Witchie Witchie set.

I just love this cute little witch! The set also comes with a cat and a sentiment that I think would make for a cute project life style card.

I used an old paper from Echo Park's "Happy Halloween" collection for my background and the purple cardstock and green dot paper are from my scrap pile. I colored this image with some colored pencils that I have had in my stash for some time. I've kind of been enjoying trying out some different coloring techniques. Maybe one of these days I'll actually invest in some Copics!

Stop by the HIMCR blog to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. I would love it if you played along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have you have a wonderful day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #226 - Merry & Bright

Hello again scrappy friends! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday reveal, please scroll down or go here.

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has a fabulous new sketch this week, created by the talented Michelle Stewart. This is another one of those great sketches that could be used for a project life style card, as well, so I will be saving it for later use!

I have created a Christmas card for this week's sketch. I used Fancy Pants' - Merry and Bright - 6x6 paper pad and stamp set. I love the muted green color in this collection - it really makes the red just pop!

I punched the flowers from a punch that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. It came as a punch and stamp set and I have no idea what brand it is. I added three tiny pearls to the center of each flower to finish them off.

Be sure to check out the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow to see the full design team reveal and the Top 3 from last week's sketch. I hope you find some time to play along with us - I can't wait to see what you create with this sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday #336

Hello, everyone! Good Tuesday morning to you! Did you get a chance to see the solar eclipse yesterday? We weren't in the direct path for totality, but it was still fun to get to experience it!

Try Stampin' - Or Not - On Tuesday has a new sketch posted today! Dawn has created a great sketch for us to work with and this week's optional challenge is "fun florals".

Yesterday I shared a baby boy card that I had made with you, so I thought today I would share a baby girl using this sketch. While I was making the baby boy card I had stamped the sentiment several times because I wasn't sure how I wanted to do the sentiment on that card. I decided to put one of those extras to use on this card.

I have used Pebbles' - Special Delivery - Girl - 6x6 paper pad and the only other thing that I used were a few puffy hearts that I had picked up at the Target dollar spot earlier in the year. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things - Beautiful Baby - stamp set.

Be sure to stop by Try Stampin' to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. You have two weeks to play along with us and you can enter over on the blog or on our Facebook page here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with another project to share with you!

Use Your Stuff #276 - New Beginnings

Hello, scrappy friends! Good Monday morning to you! Today is the much anticipated solar eclipse. We're supposed to have a pretty good view of it - if the clouds stay away!

There is a new challenge posted at Use Your Stuff today and this week our challenge is "New Beginnings". Create a project about something new - a new home, a new baby, a new job, a new possession, etc.

I have created a card for a new baby:

I don't have an immediate need for a baby card, but you just never know when someone will surprise you with some baby news, so it's good to have one in your stash!

I have used Pebbles' - Special Delivery - 6x6 paper pad for this card. The elephant stamp and the sentiment are from My Favorite Things - Beautiful Baby - stamp set. A cute little card all ready to go whenever I might need it!

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. I hope to see you playing along with us this week!

Just Saying Hello - Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #104

Hello! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend so far. Ours has been pretty quiet with our oldest son back to college...seems like he may be the talker of the bunch! It'll take a bit of getting used to, but I'm sure we will settle back in no time at all.

We have our last card challenge of the month posted at Sketch N Scrap today. Lisa has created a great sketch for us to work with:

I found an old pack of Dear Lizzy ephemera, I think it was from the Neopolitan collection, that had never even been opened up. I thought the little chipboard flowers were just begging to be used on this card, along with the Polaroid frame. I stamped my sentiment on a piece of vellum and wrapped it around the panel.

Head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I would love to see what you do with this sketch.

Don't forget, our End Of Summer crop is going on now on our Facebook page. All of the challenges have now been posted and you have until September 2nd to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

HIMCR #314 - Back To Class

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday to you! Our first two days of school are done and it's getting easier to get back into the old routine.

We have a new challenge up at Hiding In My Craft Room today. This week the design team had the pleasure of working with images from Melonheadz Illustrating - with the theme of Back To School.

I received the Library Clip Art Part 2 set to work with.

This set (well, all of their sets!) come with a great variety of images that you can work with, and each image is so stinkin' cute!

For this card, I used Crate Paper's - Cute Girl - 6x6 paper pad, with the exception of the lighter teal paper, and it is from Dear Lizzy's - Lovely Day. I thought the colors in this cute little girl's outfit were a good match to these papers.

Be sure to stop by the Hiding In My Craft Room blog to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. Play along for your chance to win a bundle from Melonheadz Illustrating.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope that you have a great day!

Paper Play Sketches #49

Hello, hello! Happy Wednesday! This is our last official day of summer break. Tomorrow it will be back to the school routine and Friday we move my oldest son back to college. I'm always sad to see the lazy days of summer go, but it will be nice to be back into a routine again.

We have a new challenge up today at Paper Play Sketches. This week is a sketch challenge and it is a fun one!

For this card, I have used Simple Stories - A Charmed Life - collection. The telephone was a 3x3 card that I cut down just a little so that it would fit a little better. The alpha stickers are also from this collection. Cut apart cards, or Project Life cards in general, make a card come together so quickly!

Be sure to stop by Paper Play Sketches to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a wonderful day!

LTSCB #100 - Mid Month Inspiration

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope that your week is off to a good start. I can't believe it's the middle of August already. It seems like once school starts, which it does for my boy on Thursday, that time really goes fast until the holidays are over.

The middle of the month means it's time for mid-month inspiration at LTSCB. Just a little note for you - this will be our last mid-month inspiration - all design team inspiration will be featured on the first of the month.

This is our 100th challenge at LTSCB and Leslie has a little something extra planned for this challenge. She will send a prize to a randomly chosen challenge participant AND another prize to a randomly chosen Facebook "like", so be sure to link up a project to our challenge blog and go on over and "like" our Facebook page here.

Now, on to the challenge. Challenge #100 is "Kidz Rule" - create a project related to a kid.

This month I got to work with the "Balloons and Ice Cream" digi stamp from Star Stampz.

For my card, I have used Echo Park's "Sunny Days Ahead" 6x6 paper pad. I love the bright, cheery colors in this collection. I colored my image using my Prima watercolor pencils. I cannot say enough good things about these pencils - they are great to use!

Head on over to Love To Scrap Challenge Blog to see the projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Make It Monday #94 at The Memory Nest

Hello, everyone! Good Monday morning to you! Are you ready for a new week? My daughter goes back to work today so that means that I will have Ada back with me during the day. I'm sad to see our summer vacation come to an end, but it will be good to get back into a routine again.

Today is Make It Monday at The Memory Nest and Leslie has created a great two photo sketch for us to work with:

I had a little trouble with this sketch - I think I was trying too hard to find photos that were the same orientation as what was on the sketch. Once I let that idea go, I didn't have much trouble at all!

I used Echo Park's - The Story Of Our Family - collection for this layout, and gosh, did I have a hard time cutting into it! I love the colors and the patterns in this collection and have been hoarding it for ages because of this. I seriously need to get over this problem!

Looking at this layout now, I can see so many things that I could have done...or added to it...I mean I still can, but I think it's funny that I was completely happy with it when I made it, but now that a few days have passed I see things differently. For instance, I wish I would have made a cluster on the bottom right corner of the bottom photo, and maybe one in upper left corner of the top photo. Like I said - an easy fix - I can always add to it and I probably will! If and when I do I will try to remember to share the updated layout with you!

Head on over to The Memory Nest to see the layouts from the rest of the design team. I hope you can find some time to play along with us! I would love to see your take on this sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Christmas Card Challenges #19

Hello, scrappy friends! Happy Sunday to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend. It has been pretty cool for August around here and it's been nice to be able to open the windows and enjoy the fresh air!

We have a new challenge up at Christmas Card Challenges today. Our challenge is pretty simple - create a Christmas/holiday card. That's it. But, if you need a little added inspiration, we offer an optional challenge for you as well. This week our optional challenge is an inspiration photo. How will you be inspired?

When I first saw the inspiration photo I really liked that the tree was made up of stars or snowflakes. Then my friend, Willa, sent me a pin on Pinterest of a Christmas tree made from snowflakes, and I knew I needed to recreate it. You can see that card here.

I punched quite a few snowflakes using an old EK Success snowflake punch and then went to work arranging them in a Christmas tree shape. I added a few clear gems to some of the snowflakes - they are a little hard to see in the photo, but they are there! I added a wood veneer star to the top of my tree and I love it! I can see me trying this again using green "snowflakes" for my tree!

Be sure to stop by Christmas Card Challenges to see the beautiful cards from the rest of the design team. I can't wait to see what you create!

HIMCR #313 - Super Scraps Saturday

Hello, hello! Happy Saturday to you! We have made it to the weekend and I'm ready for a couple of nice lazy days and enjoying some family time! My hubby has been working overtime and I know he is ready for a couple of do nothing days.

We have a new challenge up today at Hiding In My Craft Room. It's the second Saturday of the month and that means it is "Super Scraps Saturday"! Pull out those scraps and get to working on a card or two!

Our sponsor for this week is Scrap' n Dipity. I got to work with their super cute Scribble Sally Witch digi stamp.

For my card, I pulled out my Jillibean Soup - Owloween Stew - 6x6 paper pad. I don't have very many Halloween collections and scraps are about all I have left of the ones I do have. I think it might be time to add a new collection or two to my stash!

I colored Sally with my Prima watercolor pencils. I haven't used these pencils very much, but they are a dream to use! I love them!

Head on over to Hiding In My Craft Room to see the projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you get a chance to work with your scraps and get a card or two made this week!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style Sketch #82

Hello, everyone! Good Thursday morning to you! This last full week of summer vacation is flying by for us. Our first day is next Thursday and there is still so much to get done!

I am back today with my take on Sketch #82 at Sketches In Thyme PL Style. This week's sketch is courtesy of Majo:

Since I am still working on Week 30 of 2016 and since Scott's birthday was during that week, I decided this sketch would make a fun filler card for that.

The only thing that I changed up was adding my phrase "sticker" across the two squares instead of on the bottom rectangle. I wanted to leave my arrow paper open to point to the photo of the birthday boy!

Here's a look at both cards together:

My goal is to show you the whole layout by the end of the month after our last sketch of the month has been revealed.

Be sure to stop by Sketches In Thyme PL Style for more design team inspiration throughout the month.

Thank so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #224

Hello, everyone! Happy Tuesday to you! I hope that your day is off to a good start. I am keeping Ada for a couple of hours this morning while Abby has a meeting, so we're slowly getting ourselves ready for the old routine to start back up next week.

We have a new sketch posted over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge this week and I can't wait to see what you create with it! Here is a look at the sketch:

For my card I have used Close To My Heart's "Sugar Rush" collection. You can't tell it too well in the photo, but the base paper is a really pale yellow, and that pink is so soft, too! The ice cream panel is one of the 3x4 cut apart cards from one of the papers. I love that those cut apart cards make such cute, quick, and easy cards!

The sentiment is from Jillibean Soup's Birthday Bisque stamp set. The perfect sentiment for this card!

Be sure to stop by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog tomorrow to see the full design team reveal and the Top 3 from last week. I hope you have some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Use Your Stuff #274 - Inspired By A Quote

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my reveal for The Memory Nest, please scroll down or go here.

We are back from a week off at Use Your Stuff with a new challenge for you.  This week we are challenging you to be "Inspired By A Quote".

I'm not going to lie - these types of challenges are always a challenge for me! I think it is because there are so many wonderful quotes out there, that it is hard for me to pick one. Maybe if it was more specific, like, be inspired by a quote about friends or about love, etc....maybe I wouldn't have such a hard time narrowing it down!

I have created a very quick and easy, clean and simple card for my project this week, using a quote that I have pinned to my Pinterest board:

I honestly could have used this quote on a layout about my family or a card for any one of them because they truly are the sunshine in my life, but I wanted to make a card for my hubby, and since he is not big on this sort of thing, I kept it pretty plain and simple. That is the reason for a big, yellow heart instead of a big sunshine!

Going through this life with a kiddo with autism, well, let's just say that every day is not an easy day, and I am so glad that I have my hubby there by my side helping me navigate it! He truly is the sunshine in my days and I am lucky to have him!

Head on over to Use Your Stuff to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. I hope you have some time to play along with us this week. I would love to see what quote inspires you!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Make It Monday #93 At The Memory Nest

Hello, everyone! Happy Monday to you! I hope that you had a good weekend and are ready for the new week. This is our last full week of summer vacation. It will be back to the old routine next Thursday...how does summer vacation go by so quickly?

The Memory Nest has a super fun sketch this week for Make It Monday. I knew when I saw it that I was going to like working with it!

For this layout of my youngest son, I have used up the last of my Simple Stories "So Rad" collection. It was my favorite "guy" collection and I hope I can find something to replace it soon!

I snapped this photo of Shane by last fall when we had a family get together at Bennett Springs. I love this photo of him! He was happy and content to sit on the rocks by the swing sets and just hang out.

Be sure to stop by The Memory Nest to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. I hope you have some time this month to play along with us. I would love to see your take on this fun sketch!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme PL Style #81

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you are looking for my Lasting Memories reveal, please scroll down or go here.

I am back with my take on Sketches In Thyme PL Style's Sketch #81. This fun sketch is courtesy of Shawn:

I really wasn't sure when I went to work with this sketch if I would cut my photos into circles or make this more of a filler type card, but these photos of Shane from a distance in the pool were perfect to cut into circles. I love the way this turned out - that's why it's good to step outside of my comfort zone once in a while!

I am working on week 30 of 2016 this month so you won't see the completed spread until a little later in the month.

I used Echo Park's "Summer Party" 6x6 paper pad for this card. The phrase strips were cut out of one of the papers in the pad. I do think I will go back in and add a couple of hearts around the card. If I do you will see the changes in the complete spread later this month.

Be sure to stop by Sketches In Thyme PL Style to see more inspiration from the design team throughout the month!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Can I See? - Lasting Memories #356

Hello, everyone! Good Sunday morning to you! I hope that you are having a good weekend. We are going to have a busy day today with lots of family visits. I am hoping that means I will get lots of opportunities to get fun photos of Ada with her cousins!

We have a new challenge up at Lasting Memories today. Our theme for August is "All About Animals" and this week's challenge is "In The House". We want you to create a layout about those house pets - cats, dogs, turtles, rabbits, etc. Don't worry - if you don't have a house pet you can use some of the animal stickers or embellishments that you have in your stash.

Wow, is this layout on pink overload! I don't do it often, but I figured it was okay since this is a photo of Ada on her first day home from the hospital. Wilfred was so intrigued by her! He couldn't quite figure out what she was. He wouldn't let her out of his sight and he even made himself comfortable on the arm of the couch looking into her little sleep and play bed. (I still need to scrap those photos, too!) They are pretty good buddies now.

I used some super old papers on this layout. I had pulled a lot of my older pink papers when Ada was born and put them into an iris box to make them easier to find. These papers are from an old company called Scrapbook Wizard (anybody even remember them?!) and the copyright is 2002! You can't go wrong with a plaid, a stripe, and a dot pattern!

The wood veneer hearts were an RAK from a good friend and the pearls were also in my iris box with no packaging, but I know they are super old, too.

Head on over to Lasting Memories to see the beautiful layouts from the rest of the design team. We would love it if you played along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back soon with another project to share with you.

HIMCR #312 - Always Cherry Crazy Nights Color Challenge

Hello, everyone! Happy Saturday! I hope you are having a good weekend so far! It has turned unseasonably cool for the first of August...I like it, but I kind of wish, for these last few days of summer vacation, that it would be hot enough to get in the pool again!

I have some exciting news to share with you today! I am now a member of the Hiding In My Craft Room Design Team! They are a great little challenge blog with weekly challenges posted every Saturday. I am so honored to be a part of this talented team!

This week is my first challenge as a member of the design team and it is a fun color challenge:

You don't have to use this exact colors - just something close.

I also got to work with a great set of printables from The Cutting Cafe called Sweet Summer Treats.

I colored the popsicle with Ruby, Sunset, and Topiary Green inks from Close To My Heart using a blender pen. I used Desert Sand for the popsicle stick. I think it looks yummy enough to eat!

I based my card off of this week's sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping - FTL #27. Be sure to check them out for great sketch challenges!

I don't make a lot of square cards and I don't know why - I really like the way they turn out! Maybe I need to make it a point to make more of these!

Be sure to stop by Hiding In My Craft Room and see what the rest of the design team has created for this week. I hope to see you playing along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great day!

Finding Treasures Everyday

Hello, everyone! Happy Wednesday to you! Things are pretty busy around here with preparing to go back to school. I can't believe that the kids will be back in school in two weeks!

I thought I would pop in here for a bit and share my double page layout for my Double Delight challenge that is going on now over at Soul Scrappers.

The papers are from an older Close To My Heart paper pack called Chantilly. I uncovered these papers when I was going through my stash one day and I set them aside to try and get them used. I love the colors and they were perfect for these photos of Ada on one of our daily walks way back when...in 2015!

Since Ada has come along, she has really helped me to slow down and enjoy the little things even more. On our daily walks, I have had to literally slow down so she could keep up with me - now I am usually trying to keep up with her! - but being forced to slow down made me take notice of all the things around us - like a bird's nest in the cedar trees, an ordinary little clover flower that she thought was just beautiful, and an ordinary rock. On this particular day, she kept picking up rocks and handing them to me to hold on to for her. I couldn't drop a single one, either! She is something else!

LTCCB #13 - Happy Birthday From Me To You

Hello, hello! I am back with my third post of the day. You can find my Christmas Cards All Year Round reveal here, and my Sketch N Scrap reveal here.

We have a new challenge starting today over at Love To Craft Challenge Blog. Our challenges are always anything goes and you can link up any type of craft project that you like! You can read all of our rules over on the blog.

I have created a birthday card for my project today. I have used Simple Stories - Let's Party - papers and the sentiment is a stamp from Jillibean Soup - Birthday Bisque. I punched out three tiny stars with my Fiskars mini star hand punch and added it to the sentiment.

Head on over to LTCCB to see the beautiful projects from the rest of the design team. We hope you have some time to play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today! I hope you have a great day!

Sweeter Than Chocolate - Sketch N Scrap #134

Hello again! I am back with my second post of the day. If you're looking for my Christmas Cards All Year Round reveal, please scroll down or go here.

The first of the month means we have a new sketch posted over at Sketch N Scrap. Lisa has created a fun multi-photo sketch for us to work with:

I really liked the idea of the three smaller photos all in a row on this sketch. I added an extra strip of patterned paper along the right-hand side and omitted the banner in order to add some journaling and a bigger embellishment cluster.

I used Dear Lizzy's - Lovely Day - collection for this layout. The papers were a great match to Miss Ada's shirt in the photos. The tag that says - Um, I love your face - was just perfect and I wish I had about 20 more of those tags to keep adding to projects!

Ada wanted to help her Momma frost my birthday cake. She did a really good job with the cake, but once she had a taste of the icing, she was done! She licked the knife and had icing on her cheek, on her nose, on her hands...so much goodness to be had!

Now, head on over to Sketch N Scrap to see the beautiful layouts that the rest of the design team has made using this sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I will be back soon with one more project for today.
